My city's about to get a new baseball stadium, and people are actually whining that they might have to park their car somewhere other than the stadium and walk.
And, mind you, we have a five-mile long, free passenger train that will take them right to the stadium. It's not gonna be hard to get there.
And here, this conversation is kind of a re-tread of the past 10 years where we had to fight to get the passenger train, because all these drivers couldn't be bothered to give up a lane of traffic. Unfortunately that's just a fact of life in a sprawled American city, but luckily, the city fucking loves the train so it's that much harder for suburbanites to find support.
If you're not from this part of the region there's 2 things you should know. I don't think I'll ever do it, since I'm more lawful neutral than chaotic good, but I value the people who are.
As a municipal planner, I love the solution. We get warm fuzzies when we can use our talent for bureaucracy to do something good. It helps make up for the politicians trying to get us to bend rules for developers.

The biggest snowflakes are the MAGAs. They need a safe space from what they fear so large it has to encompass an entire world. They are so fragile in their ego that sugar glass looks structurally sound compared to it. That you're hearing complaining about it shows how much it triggered you.
I was wondering the opposite actually. How was that thing flying for any amount of time in the first place? I thought maybe people are desensitized these days, but there's probably a useful distinction to be made between the ones who make a big stink on social media and the ones who take useful action.
Well, everyone has a right to express their opinion. And people are used to a certain set of opinions being expressed in "large" ways. Expressing the opinion is not illegal. Nor should it be. So most people would not take action as it is legally protected.
A commenter in another thread said it was taken down for violating zoning rules and such. And that is reasonable. Expressing your opinion is fine, but forcing others to see your expression should have some limits. Just like ads should as well.

I have never destroyed someone else's property.
