For Navi, the left cat, we call her Chunka Munk, Plasticat, and Ms. Infected Lips.
For Scorpi, the cat on the right, we call him Mr. Small, Spider Cat, and Crybaby.

I have never seen a cat look so much like one of those worm-on-a-string toys

Here is mon chat, mon chameau, mon chaton, mon petit, mon petit prout, my darling, my princess, my good girl, my delicate cupcake, my pweshuss and so on. Yes she is bilingual.

I don't speak French but that emoji gives me a clue what that nickname might mean 😅

Precious and Vicious, can you guess which one is which?
Vupware@lemmy.zip · 7 pts · 310d
I’m going to guess vicious is the one on the left, given the right cat’s wary look.

Yup, Juno is always on guard next to Nova.

Rocky (a.k.a. Brown-noser) and Adrian (a.k.a. Monkey face)

That is just a ridiculous nose. The nickname is apt!

This is Lucy, but at some point early on in our relationship my wife started calling her Chichi and it’s stuck.

TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip · 10 pts · 309d
They are! I was only going to get one cat after a nasty divorce, but found out they were a bonded pair and went home with two. They keep the silence at bay. I couldn’t picture my life without them.
moakley@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 309d
Usually she was Sasha, but if there was ham in the room, she was Ham Cat.
We lost her about two years ago.
Vupware@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 309d
I lost my first cat to FELV before he turned a year old. Losing a cat hurts a lot. I hope you and yours are getting by okay.

For our Triscuit, we call her Triss most of the time. We really want another cat, a black one, to name Yennifer.
TachyonTele@piefed.social · 6 pts · 310d
My black car is the most loving creature I've ever met. I hope you get a good one!

I have a William Shakespeare and an Edgar Allan Poe! We generally call them William and Edgar, sometimes "Babies" when referring to them collectively, and sometimes "You little shit!!!" when Edgar is up to no good.
Vupware@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 309d
Those are two cute voids. Do you ever get them confused? Do they have any defining characteristics?
Scuzzm0nkey@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 309d
They're different sizes for starters, William is a bit beefier and Edgar is slimmer. Also their fur is a different consistency, Edgar is slicker and more shiny. On top of that, their meows are so different and Edgar is extremely chatty. Normally the only time we get them confused is from a distance or late at night when we're shouting at whoever is being bad.
Suck_on_my_Presence@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 309d
That's really funny. I have two voids and they're also determined by their fur texture and voices.

A friend of mine calls his boy Luci (yes, a nod to the Disenchantment series) "a sack of buttkicks".
Skua@kbin.earth · 10 pts · 310d
I grew up next to a Norwegian neighbour who called our cat "Kattepus", and I have apparently picked up and kept the habit of referring to my own cat that way. He's also called Baggy, because being a black cat everyone wanted me to name him Bagheera

Their names are Booker and Hollow
Booker's nicknames are Book, Bookbookbookbookbook, Stinky, and Baby because his meow is tiny and he's baby
Hollow's nicknames are Mister Man, Kermit (his meow sounds like Kermit swallowing a tennis ball), Holla at ya homeboy, Stinky, and Chocolate Boi because he turns chocolate brown in the sunlight.
They're both so stupid and I love them.

Babycat because although he's a full-grown 14lbs adult, he has a kitten-like pitch to his vocalizations.

sweetie and "you dumb sack of shit".
sack shits everywhere. I keep sack around because nobody will take them and I don't want them to be abused.
honestly I look forward to the day someone takes this cat from me or the day it's no longer a burden.
sweetie is a sweetie, even so. they hate sack and refuses to be around them.
we treat them both the same, but I wouldn't be sad if I woke up one day and didn't have to clean shit up off the floors.

My void was nicknamed Itty Bitty when I fostered him. Of course, he turned into a permanent family member and never got a new name. His full name became Itty Bitty Kitty.

We have two cats, a void and a grump. The voids full name is Robert but he goes by Bob, my wife calls him "little kitty" because he was a tiny kitten when we got him, I call him "you fat fuck" because he got up to 19 lbs before we started putting him on a diet (14 lbs now)
The grumps full name is Norman (as in Norman Bates, serial killer) but he goes by Norm (as in not normal), my wife calls him Normie and I call him "shut up you" because he's constantly crying about something
Aneb@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 309d
My cats name is Lucifer and I call him Luci, Luc (rhymes with goose) and I also call him Goose a lot. Its like he's my ugly duckling. He loves cuddles and cries when he isn't given all the attention. Is 3 going on 4 year old. I adopted him from a shelter where he was returned twice. I understand why but he's just my big baby now. He name is also synonymous with "Fuck off", "Quit crying you asshole" , and "Why the fuck does your shit smell so bad?"

My favorite cat was named Buddy, but since he would get into a lot of mischief we would often refer to him as "the monster". Once you start calling your cat Buddy Monster, you'll find you're now a very short distance from Monster of Buddies I'm pulling your strings.

Any mix of words with pussy, like, when she is mad she is spicy, a spicy pussy, so she's a spussy. I also love to call her fat nugget because she is the exact colour of a nugget.

Those pillows look like fake velvet microplastic fiber in that shot. If so, please consider switching your bedsheets and pillowcases out for natural fibers like cotton, hemp, or linen. Breathing in those fibers isn't good for you or your cats.
Vupware@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 309d
At the time we were using suede pillowcases, I believe. We have since switched to silk.
That being said it’s all but impossible to avoid microplastics in attire. 100% cotton clothes are rare to come by, are expensive, and hard to wash and dry. Wool is all of the above with the addition of being itchy. All couches have carcinogenic fire retardants; all chicken is bathed in chlorine.
