300ml espresso and 30mg amphetamines

MagicShel@lemmy.zip · 13 pts · 247d (4 replies)

IT worker? I recognize that breakfast.

mech@feddit.org · 17 pts · 247d (3 replies)

IT worker with ADHD, of course.

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 6 pts · 247d (2 replies)

An advertising agency without ADHD would also be possible.

remon@ani.social · 5 pts · 247d (1 reply)

Let's not assume the worst of people.

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

Prepare for the worst and if that doesn't happen simply drink it yourself.

shems@piefed.social · 3 pts · 247d

the good ole hippy speedball

frittoBee@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 247d

I had a Bowl of baked oats, nuts and seeds mixed with some blueberries, one half of a pear, unflavored yoghurt and some apple-apricot puree. And a cup of coffee to drink.

grte@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 247d (3 replies)

Two fried eggs, an orange, a banana, a piece of naan, and coffee.

cloudless@piefed.social · 4 pts · 247d (2 replies)

Plain naan? I need more flavours with naan, at least some butter.

grte@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 247d (1 reply)

The package says garlic naan, but basically plain, yes. Just warmed up in the toaster. I wipe up stray egg yolk for sauce.

mysticpickle@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 247d

Costco naan enjoyer spotted

dkppunk@piefed.social · 7 pts · 247d (6 replies)

Coffee and weed, but it’s only 7am and I haven’t started work yet.

In an hour or two, I’ll have my usual leftover quesadilla. Whatever leftovers in the fridge, I add cheese, tortilla, and Cholula sauce then toast for 3-4 minutes. Leftover roasted broccoli quesadillas are a favorite of mine.

MeThisGuy@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 247d (5 replies)

+1 for coffee, +1 for weed, +2 for quelsedillas

dkppunk@piefed.social · 1 pts · 246d (4 replies)

I was out of shredded cheese, so I had half a pack of ritz crackers and some barley tea instead.

The quesadillas are real good though

PinkInSlippers@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 245d (3 replies)

Making me reminisce on tacos and quesadillas. I haven't had those in 9 years. Not a common dish this side. Will definitely make them at home sometime this month.

dkppunk@piefed.social · 2 pts · 244d (2 replies)

I hope you enjoy them! I live in an area where tacos and quesadillas are everywhere, but my leftover quesadillas are a lot cheaper and I don’t have to leave home to eat them lol

PinkInSlippers@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 244d (1 reply)

That's nice. I Googled cholula sauce. It looks very hot and potent 😆. I love me a hot sauce. Here in Malawi, we have a local sauce called Kambuzi.

dkppunk@piefed.social · 1 pts · 244d

Thankfully, Cholula is not too hot! It has a kick and a Smokey flavor, but it’s more on the medium side of spicy.

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 5 pts · 247d

Coffee, a mental breakdown and some meds. The breakfast of champions!

robolemmy@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 247d (1 reply)

Eggy weggs and toast with a side of Gordon Lightfoot and Warren Zevon

frostysauce@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 246d

Good taste.

tiredofsametab@fedia.io · 4 pts · 247d (1 reply)

More of an early lunch by the time I got around to eating, but homemade chili con carne with gluten free cornbread topped with freshly-chopped red onion and green jalapeno. Freshly-shredded cheddar cheese to top it off.

cloudless@piefed.social · 1 pts · 247d

Sounds great! Do you eat gluten free because of intelorance?

shalafi@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 247d (1 reply)

I haven't seen a proper cucumber in so long that this pic is making me sad. I had completely forgotten that cucumbers aren't supposed to have white flesh with a green tinge.

Also, I'm extra sad because I tried to eat one for lunch and they've both gone bad, fed to the pig.

dufkm@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 246d

That's not a nice thing to call your wife.

Lembot_0006@programming.dev · 3 pts · 247d (1 reply)

I didn't.

cloudless@piefed.social · 3 pts · 247d

I tried skipping breakfast (intermittent fasting), but that didn't work for me. Felt terrible and gained weight.

harambe69@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 247d

A liquid breakfast meal made of various grains and legumes. It's a traditional drink called sattu. Keeps me going until dinner if need be.

cloudless@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d (2 replies)

Formfiller@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 247d (1 reply)

TechnoCat@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

I eat this a lot too. So good.

neidu3@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 247d (2 replies)

What's that brown stuff? Peanut buter?

ryven@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 247d

A glass of water. It's basically all I can afford now.

remon@ani.social · 4 pts · 247d (1 reply)

Was it at least hot water?

MisterNeon@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 247d

Frigid because I don't want to pay for heating.

LouNeko@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 247d

Oh look at Mr. Paid Utility Bill over here with his running water. /s

SuiXi3D@fedia.io · 2 pts · 247d

I stopped by Burger King on the way to work, since it’s all I really had/have time for. Just a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and a Coke Zero. Not great, I know, but it’s cheap and fills the hole.

Quilotoa@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 247d (2 replies)

Same thing I've had almost every day for the last ten years. A bowl of frosted Mini-wheats.

TechnoCat@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

I eat cereal about once a month and frosted mini wheats is what it always is. So basic and good.

cloudless@piefed.social · 1 pts · 247d

That would be terrible for me with all the carbs.

elgordino@fedia.io · 2 pts · 247d

Oat porridge with peanut butter and Greek yoghurt.

remon@ani.social · 2 pts · 247d

A cup a soup.

blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 247d (1 reply)

Causa rellena warmed up cold and three digestive biscuits and about 5 cups of tea

cloudless@piefed.social · 1 pts · 247d

That’s a lot of tea.

LaserTurboShark69@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 247d

Eggs n toast with cabbage, hummus, and mustard

Pulptastic@midwest.social · 2 pts · 247d

A cup of coffee and a small piece of licorice.

Your breakfast looks delicious! I need to get more hummus.

perishthethought@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

I think this thread requires some balancing, so...

One Thomas' English muffin with butter, a chobani low carb yogurt, cup of coffee with a little milk.

Yes, American.

DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 247d (3 replies)

Lol, it's barely even 8 am and I've kinda just been up at night, and I just ate a bunch of doritos. Didn't even have a "real" breakfast yet...

cloudless@piefed.social · 1 pts · 247d (2 replies)

Do you usually have Asian breakfast? Or American?

DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 247d (1 reply)

I remember during like highschool and middle school, my dad would cook stuff like:

  • Noodles such as 牛肉麵 but sometimes with the beef replaced with 牛肉丸 or sometimes its bacon or sometimes its just 煎蛋 fried eggs, like it'd be mixed up and salted then pan-fried, or sometimes just pan-fried without mixing it, which my dad called 荷包蛋
  • 煎餅

Sometimes they're busy or at work so I had cereal with milk from the refrigerator a few times, those "meals" are kinda sad and lonely tbh, lack the "warmth" of parents caring for you, know what I mean?

Also I saw my older brother drinking straight from the container of milk like a fucking selfish savage (ewww saliva wtf), so from then on, unless its freshly unopened, I sus all of the milk.

Sometimes its just some snackbars.

Sometimes I'd be late for school and just have no breakfast except like have some snack bars in my bookbag.

In NYC, I remember my dad was much more busyer than in Philly, so I always just had school breakfast. As for when I don't have school and dad wasn't home? Idk don't remember mom making anything that tasted like real food, just cook rice and have a standard breakfast/lunch brunch I think? Or just the 包, simple, its just has to be steamed and its easy.

Before then, in China, no memories of breakfast... wasn't exactly memorable, probably just about the same things.

As for now? Idk sometimes stuff from the nearby Chinese bakery, sometimes, but not often, dimsum stuff from a small nearby restaurant (Dim Sum starts at like 9:30 AM so its more like brunch than breakfast), sometimes just random snacks as breakfast.

Sometimes if there's leftover food from the day before, that. But nowadays we don't do that anymore, kinda germaphobic, don't trust my brother to not tamper with stuff.

cloudless@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

Your older brother should buy his own milk!

Cereals are indeed sad meals. I know that feeling.

All the Asian food you mentioned is amazing. I especially like 煎餅, I have had some success making it, should try again soon.

About 2 egg whites, a bowl of cereal, coffee black with sucralose, and a banana

cloudless@piefed.social · 2 pts · 247d

Sucralose because you want to avoid sugar?

I don’t put sugar in my coffee any more, and now I dislike the taste of coffee with sugar.

Egg whites for the taste? Or for health?

starlinguk@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 247d

Eat the yolks. They're the healthy bit.

PinkInSlippers@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 245d

I had brunch.

Mom made 2 dumplings, eggplant sauce, 2 boiled eggs and cucumber salad.

fascicle@leminal.space · 1 pts · 247d

Toes@ani.social · 1 pts · 247d
