I don't know why people are even accusing him, that day he spent 12 hours helping me prepare for my bar mitzvah and I'm not even Jewish. Good man.

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 14 pts · 222d

Which is crazi because he was also helping me move a couch that whole time

NOT_RICK@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 222d

Oh yeah, uh, I’m talking about the plumber turned amateur exorcist, this guy clearly wants to excise the corporate demons.

So EXTREMELY on the nose for both Trump presidencies, except for the government being the ones arguing FOR "nonstandard" people being people..

Then again, betraying all the other stated principles of their ideology in favor of collecting more tariffs IS very typical too, so swings and roundabouts 🤷

snoons@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 222d

The bottom line is money, nobody give a FUCK.

zbyte64@awful.systems · 4 pts · 222d

More like billionaire pedophiles are a special class of people that get extra rights. All other mutants get the shaft.

glizzyguzzler@piefed.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 222d

Love the very British-sounding “swings and roundabouts”, do you mean car roundabouts? Or do you call the spinny things on the playground that send you to another dimension roundabouts too? That’d make more sense than the car one with swings involved

I get the vibe the phrase means something like “it all evens out” as well

On January 3, 2003, an American court of law officially ruled that the X-Men weren’t humans.

Seems pretty consistent for America. Next they'll compromise on 3/5ths of a person.

Jhex@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 222d

it was all so they could pay less taxes on those action figures… true story

stray@pawb.social · 10 pts · 222d

That's ridiculous. Mutants are a subspecies of human called homo sapiens superior.

It's pretty easy to see why some people are skeptical of everything in this age of clickbait, AI shit, and disinformation. Asking if it's real is perfectly acceptable.

I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 222d

People also seem to forget, just because there is an article about it, doesn't mean it's real either.

Like in this instance, there is nothing actually backing up any of these claims. Reading the article, I think it's just as likely that the toy companies don't give a shit. Even if you take his word as truth, being threatened by an intermediary law firm is meaningless. Their entire business model revolves around finding any reason to threaten a lawsuit and relying on settlements from idiots who are too stupid to tell them to pound sand.

DylanMc6@lemmy.ml · 9 pts · 222d (7 replies)

Trainwiz has a long way to go. Are there any socialist/communist theory stuff that Trainwiz can study?

swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 222d (6 replies)

Maybe the writings of Wibert Awdry

DylanMc6@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 222d (5 replies)

NOT from Audry

swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 222d (4 replies)

Probably not, unless he's one of those priests who follows the socialist teachings of Jesus rather than church dogma, but I was just joking, I don't know much about the dude.

DylanMc6@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 221d (3 replies)

So do you know any socialist/communist texts that I can recommend to Trainwiz?

swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 221d (2 replies)

The Conquest of Bread by Peter Kropotkin

DylanMc6@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 221d (1 reply)

What else?

swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 221d

God and the State by Mikhail Bakunin
