At home it would be more accurate to say you sent a poop. You didn't take a poop. Where are you taking it? And why?
But that's not actually true if you fly on an airline. Because you DO take your poop to your destination. Same thing on things like cruise ships. Oh, I guess also RVs and those buses that have bathrooms. Oh, and trains.
Ok, now I'm trying to think if I missed any....

With starship earth you’re taking your poop on a tour of the solar system…

and the local stellar, and the galaxy, and the local galactic supercluster, and of lots of other places depending on the reference frame.

I've always wondered why Americans "take" things so much. "Take a shit", "take a shower", "take a look"
You "go for" or "have" those things in OG English.

Typical Americans, always take, take, take
WongKaKui@piefed.ca · 5 pts · 117d
Except when it comes to healthcare and UBI, apparantly Americans don't want to take any of that... 👀

That's technically giving. And to the poors too. Disgusting.

Take = to make something yours
Have = something you already possess
I'm going to have a shower
I'm going to take a shower
Both describe in some capacity making the shower yours.
Take a shit
Have a shit
Here shit is actually acting as a verb like shower, not a noun
Take a look
Have a look
Again both describing a action that you personally doing, just different styles of the same construction

Defiantly not going into a restroom and taking a poop, if there is a poop I'm not touching it! I came to leave a poop.

Unrelated somewhat, but one similar swedish expression is "ta en titt" (literally "take a look", not "grab a boob"). But then the swedes also have "Slutstation" ("End station" in public traffic) and "Utfart" ("drive out").

And when ordering in restaurants “I’ll take…” which always seems a bit rude

You take it from wherever you are to the toilet.
Also on a less pedantic note, sometimes doctors will have you collect a home stool sample and take it to them.

I would argue that the only time you are NOT taking a poop, is when you are pooping. At any other time you are taking all of your poop with you.

/me walks onto the poop deck

Since you have poop inside you, your always taking it somewhere. Unless you've just had a colonic irrigation.

I’m not taking the poop with me. From my inertial reference frame, I’m sending my departure point on Earth away from me.
