Is that the collection of documents that proves that the sitting president raped children? I've been looking forward to that one! The publisher says it's already out, but all I can find is samples online. Someone needs to tell him that if you release it as a book, it will be the #1 best seller for years to come.
America has been the villain of world history since inception. We just manifest destined ourselves to take land that HAD NO ONE ON IT EVER STOP ASKINGIT'S FINE NOW!
I am hopeful that the people in the US can experience relief. The problem is that people are brought up with silly propaganda like it being the free-est country in the world, the best, etc. It's all very strange and causes cult-like behavior.
Before people trusted us to honor important parts of our commitments. Now people expect the worst from us in nearly everything. We lit an assload of soft power on fire and it will likely contribute to our "downfall" from global hegemon to competing great power. Silver lining is that a lot of the wealth we've skimmed off the top of the global economy for decades will now start going back to our allies and industrially underdeveloped parts of the world held hostage by our dominant military and economic position.
Some sure, but not everyone. It took a hit during the Bush years, but the Trump administration has eradicated anyone except lunatic conservatives trying to betray their own country for a taste of power.
That’s what they said during W’s reign, but still we managed to find someone more callous. Unfortunately I don’t think he and his cabal are as stupid as we would like to think they are. W on the other hand…
"Trump cannot" (and "GOP cannot") is the down-beat in the song of life. It doesn't seem to matter what the law says for right-wingers when they're in power. They will do what they please in the absence of adequate resistance.
Edit: in this case, though, I doubt it's more than another distraction from the Epstein files
Well he has been able to do a shit ton without out congressional approval that he wasn't supposed to, no wonder he thinks he get do it without Venezuela's consent as well.
there's that pesky concept that this clown ignores laws and norms, and has 2 additional branches of goverment who are dedicated to nothing more than sycophancy to him.
The US government is currently run by calvinball rules.
Why didn't I think about this? This isn't about resources, or annexation. This is about him being the president who added another state. Something Obama didn't do.
Moron, he could easily make Puerto Rico the 51st state.
Well, did they accept the kidnapping of their president? Unfortunately, I don't think this fascist administration gives a shit about how they feel about it, and will do whatever it wants.
I'll add that while your analogy clearly makes the point, as a practical matter there are plenty of women out there that happily fulfill the mistress role that do not aspire to wifehood.
Lol, what? Hispanics are highly conservative. Right wing propaganda has been overwhelming on Spanish social media for decades; it makes Fox News look like MSNBC. Latin American culture is absolutely SEEPED with conservative Christianity, with a deep rooted hatred of LGBT and anything that even vaguely reminds them of the word "socialism".
Yet there is no question that over the past three election cycles, Latino voters – Latino men under 40, in particular – have shifted right. That change has benefited GOP candidates, even as the majority of Latinos still voted for Democrats.
However, evidence from general elections in 2025 in places such as New Jersey, New York and Virginia, as well as special elections in 2026, suggest an abrupt correction is underway, with some of the Latino voters who backed Trump now swinging back to the Democrats.
In the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump received 46% of the Latino vote, marking the highest percentage for a Republican candidate in U.S. history.
As you can see, it’s also working out great for the Latino voters.

That is a great outcome though. Hopefully the US is so weakened by Trump that the world can know some peace from Americas evilness.

panthera_@lemmy.today · 4 pts · 96d
I'm surprised. Hispanics generally vote Democratic. If Venezuela becomes a state, it will have 2 Senators and many House of Representatives members.
KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 96d
You assume by state he means state and not territory. Because let’s be honest, they wouldn’t get any representation at the federal level.
panthera_@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 96d
Look at the title of the post. It says Trump is 'considering' Venezuela as 51st state.
KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 96d
You give him too much credit to understand what statehood means when compared to making it a territory.
He is also only considering it to keep the news focused away from the Epstine files, and everything else he is actually doing.
N0t_5ure@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 96d

The population of Venezuela is around 28.6 million. The population of Puerto Rico is around 3.2 million. Venezuela would get more House members.
N0t_5ure@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 96d
Puerto Rico's representatives are non-voting and have very limited impact on legislation. They could have 100 Congressmen and still have zero votes.
panthera_@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 96d
That's because Puerto Rico is not a state. According to the title of this post, Trump is 'considering' Venezuela as 51st state.
N0t_5ure@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 96d
Yes, and Trump is always straightforward and honest.
panthera_@lemmy.today · 0 pts · 95d
I don't think Venezuelans would accept being a territory over a state. It's like a woman accepting to be a mistress over being a wife.
