I agree it’s this, or the opposite: the stone is cool and the cat is hot. Either way, maximizing surface area for thermal transfer is smart.
Sometimes when I’m overheated on a summer run, I’ll find a brick or concrete wall in the shade and flatten myself against for a quick full-body thermal transfer.

Everything is comfortable when you're made of soft

My cat is like that. He likes to sit at the edge of things and just... droop over the edge

A cat can lie down and stand up at the same time.

Rescued an outdoor cat and he WOULD NOT sleep on soft surfaces. Wood, brick, tile, cardboard boxes, all cool.
Bed? Blankets? Get outta here!

The large stones here are still retaining some heat from when they were in the sun during the day.
These cats are taking advantage of it, absorbing some of that heat.

That's a pretty clever theory. I like it

I bet that's awesome actually. Like an inversion table for people. But un-inverted...

Hey buckaroo, Don’t try bringing logic to a dingleberry convention!

You were very close. However, I'm talking about an un-inverted inversion table.

LaForge: O'Brien, how can we figure out which cat the transporter malfunction turned riker into?
O'Brien: I think we've figured it out.

This is a "there are two kinds of cats in the world" meme.

I kinda wonder if this is an AI-generated pic... Okay, I got the message! I had never seen this before.Iunnrais@piefed.social · 9 pts · 75d
I mean, cats are like that sometimes.
Ephera@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 75d
Nah, I first saw this photo many years ago...

Oh, okay; just checking since I'd never seen this before. Pre-AI content is becoming a global treasure...

Nah, that's this one
But still, not everything is ai, and Photoshop (and editing in general) has existed far far longer than ai too.
Mountainaire@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 75d
Got it. I did not know how old the pic was.

Was wondering too, thank you and your repliers for confirming it's not.
