So today I was heating leftovers in the microwave for lunch. I had a pretty thick piece of garlic toast that, instead of laying it on its side like normal people do, I decided to stand it up on its edge. The sight of the rotating upright garlic toast, coupled with the accompanying triumphant music I made up in my head for it, made me laugh way more than is probably rational. I may also be slightly sleep deprived today.

I need a drawing to visualise this

gigastasio@sh.itjust.works · 26 pts · 88d (1 reply)

Okay, let me do this for you. Imagine me standing in front of you. Okay, now imagine I’m garlic toast.

spins around singing triumphantly

See?

Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 88d

It's as glorious as I imagined!

AskewLord@piefed.social · 2 pts · 88d (1 reply)

_fryerDan@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 88d

I saw a turtle and I tried to photograph it, but the picture came out blurry, like the turtle was moving too quickly.

Kid got stuck between the couch and window. Managed to crawl in, but didn't realise he could crawl backwards to get out.

LORDSMEGMA@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 88d (1 reply)

Got a picture the other day of my nephew getting stuck crawling backwards under a chair. He hasn't quite figured out forwards yet.

slazer2au@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 88d

Its bloody hilarious that they go backwards first and get a furniture leg suck between their legs and freak out.

Saw a computer whose complaint was “won’t charge” and the entire charging port was gone alongside the surrounding casing

Ah, remjnds me of the time I got a ticket for "system.wet" after the co-owner peed on it.

It ran the store, and he had just found out his wife was cheating with the other co-owner

Today I tried out Sennheiser's HD 800 S and the sound was so good, I didn't know how to mentally and physically process the experience, which ultimately made me laugh intermittently. The customers and clerks at the store looked at me, of course.

dryfter@ani.social · 2 pts · 86d (1 reply)

This is adorable and it makes me want to buy those so I can “eargasm” with you.

akunohana@piefed.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 86d

The verdict is not what you think though 🫤 they were AMAZING at acoustic music such as jazz, Broadway, bigband, classical and even some pop (Paramore's later albums), but I have heard better headphones for rock and metal. And it's not some sort of flatness either, because flatness/neutrality is exactly what I'm looking for in headphones because I want to be able to hear every single intended and unintended sound alike. It was something else that rock and metal were lacking with these. 🤔

My sister hit herself in the head with a brick after I jokingly told her to do it. We are both in our 30s.

Kid and I each rounded a corner in the house and literally ran into each other. We had a hearty laugh! I love hearing his joy.

Hearing my uncle and cousin bicker after he kept making a duck noise that annoyed her. The father, daughter thing they have is a riot.

my dog jumping into a bush and donking herself on a street pole while doing so. total cartoon moment.

I was walking my young dog on the waterside trail of a local park. She saw some ducks swimming along and immediately tried to run after them. Straight into the water. She was immediately full of regret (it was kind of deep and she hadn't been swimming before). Had to help her out, but it was pretty hilarious.

A friend of mine went to a Ukulele festival two weeks ago. He thought it would be good (small village locals and others). They advertised a "places going fast" bus trip to see the local hotspots and historical sites as part of the things to do in the festival. We were sitting outside the pub (one of the only hot days of the year this year so far) and this bus came up the hill towards us and all we could hear was ukulele music as it got closer. when the bus turned we could see the side view and him sitting on the bus with an EXTREMELY pissed off head on him, listening to the ukuleles and not able to get off until the bus had gone full circle..

I’m visualizing this like a scene out of a James Herriot book 😂

I thought of a funny moment from teenage years and burst out laughing

We recently moved and don’t have a fence up in our yard yet, so we’re having to take the dog out on her leash. My wife was walking her around the back yard and the dog was very intently sniffing the ground, following a trail that must’ve been very recent. Meanwhile she never noticed that about 15 feet (4.5 meters) away was a cat happily laying on its back and bathing itself. We’re guessing the cat is what our dog was snelling but she never saw it, completely oblivious.

Talking with my girlfriend. We're doing a set of relationship questions and were discussing that they're supposed to be fun not a burden.

I was sent a small package via USPS from the next state over, and it arrived to me in a single day. I was so shocked, I laughed out loud.

It was about 18 hours, end to end, so it could easily have been two days, but I’m still very surprised.

Saw a kid being driven around in one of those big plastic electric toy cars but it was remote controlled. Seemed like fun - I wanted to go ask when's my turn.

I was recently in the wait room of my dr.office and I over heard a nurse talking to person I can’t see with a walker.

Nurse: “How you doing?”

Walker: “Well… I’ve been better…”

AUDIBLY distressed at their response, Nurse: “Oh… I’m sorry to hear that…”

Walker: “Ive been worse too! …” trails off happily.

🥲🫡🤣

Pretty much everything from robin inces stand up at https://www.rikmayallcomedyfestival.com/

Deffo going again next year!

Richard herring was also good (as always) but not a massive fan of who he interviewed (Mitch Benn).

I definitely need to do more gigs and less time in front of the pc.

I work with kids, and one in particular has inside jokes with pretty much everyone he meets, and I don't know all of them. He was sitting next to another kid to eat lunch, and since part of my job is to help him develop social skills, I encouraged him to talk to his friend.

Immediately, one of them turned to the other and went, "Nee nee nee nee!"

The other turned back, "Nee nee nee nee nee!"

And I sat there like, "Whelp, I guess I'm getting what I asked for."
