Sure, but the point of this post is to highlight Bambu's anticonsumer practices.
I've been considering what printer to buy for a while now, but I sure as hell know it won't be a Bambu.

Its hard not to be smug as a lowly ender 3 peasant to have everything I was worried about Bambu doing slowly coming true.
I mean... I wish my printer worked as well as all my Bambu friends, but this helps a little... this helps...

There are tons of better printers now that give you results similar to bbl without their bullshit, you don't need to suffer (unlessyou want to).

Can you recommend one comparable to the H2C? I would love one with 7 hot swappable hotends, intelligent filament switching, inductive heating, and a 40W laser module.

I may need to manually level my bed every time I print, but I never see ads, and have zero privacy holes in my printer.
And it's gonna stay that way. And when it eventually dies, it's time to harvest the corpse and build a voron printer.

Just of note, many other brands are now very competitive with Bambu, even beating it in value in some cases! For example, Qidi has some very good value enclosed printers like the Q1 Pro and the newer Q2, Elegoo's Centauri Carbon is exceptionally good for the price, the Snapmaker U1 undercuts Bambu's H2 series by a lot while being compatible with OrcaSlicer OOTB, and of course you have Prusa being cool as always, letting users upgrade from the MK4S+ to the Core One with a kit, which can later be upgraded again to a tool changer with the upcoming INDX.

Creality's new Klitek printers are imminent. Multiple tool heads, push pull feed for TPU.
Bambu upped the game but the competition is coming back better.
Push pull TPU feed + Siraya tech glass fiber TPU is going to allow truly strong anisotropic prints.

I replaced 2 ender 3s with a bambu a1 after confirming I can just use SD cards to print... I don't deal with whatever is going on.
I regret not doing it sooner. Granted I wouldnt choose Bambu today. Enders are nice but so damn slow.

I was torn between getting Bambu vs Prusa when upgrading from my old printer, but with the potential for spyware, OrcaSlicer-bambulab threats, and now this I think I chose well.

Mine hasn't been the most reliable tbh, but it could be my fault. I think my next printer will be the Prusa XL with at least 2 toolheads, or whatever the equivalent is when I finally am ready to drop that dough. I think I'll also pay extra for them to build it because, as much fun as it was to build my Mk3s+, I do wonder if some of my performance issues are my fault due to the assembly...

Can confirm too, had a core one from the first batch and I broke some parts during assembly. Got sent new parts, with extra spares and 600 grams of carbon fibre PETG in case I needed any other parts, all free of charge (they knew I had a second printer).

Not wanting to defend bambu, I'm hardly on their side! but this integration was announced about a year ago on v2.2, this isn't new, nor is it general advertising, just a collaboration they started on a year ago.

Does it work outside LAN Only mode?
What I would like was something like:
From LAN and any damn slicer of my choosing, send prints directly to printer. Read printer and ams state.
From bambulab handy, slicer, etc, the same as above.
I don't see why these should be mutually exclusive options.

It works fine. I haven't updated firmware on the printer for quite a while though. Not sure what happens with updated machines. You still need the bambu network plugin though.
It's so stupid everyone knew this would happen but so many of us bought in anyhow... Including myself.

I remember back in the late 90s software did this. has been happening for decades.
that said, Pihole or a DNS that blocks advertisers should resolve this, right?

Pihole and dns can only block ads that come from a separate ad network. It's unlikely that Bambu is using an ad network for the ads inside their slicer. That's also why Pihole does nothing for youtube ads.

Itās basically the same as the Bambu slicer but without the branding and with some additional features. You can install the Bambu network plugin and use your printer without modifications.

Man, that really bums me out. I really like our Bambu printer. They are such a successful company already. I don't see why they need to resort to these tricks.
