I have to for work, most of my job is in the cloud but I still find myself going “fucking windows goddamn shitty operating system” every once in a while. And man when I do have to use powershell damn is that shit ass
Where’s my love interest? Why is everything setup to be so shitty in terms of geopolitics and the economy and such? And finally, the viewers better be laughing at my jokes at least.
I very much appreciate the advice. Definitely do dread going in, I’m constantly bounced between bored out of my mind and insane sprints, partially because I’m competent and the way things are organized there’s no one really strongly pushing back against short deadlines on my team, but it’s also partially because we don’t get a choice often either due to data migrations or what not. I fear my motivation and talent will be crushed if I stay here too long. Unfortunately I also lack the perspective of a different job/environment to know what to appreciate about where I’m at.
I personally really hate web apps and would rather have native apps for everything. Even some apps that feel off UI wise I find annoying but better than website. And yes I’m an Apple/Gnome user so I guess that makes sense…
Open source firmware seems good from a security perspective, motherboard manufacturers seem to really suck balls. Could someone more knowledgeable about core boot explain it a bit to me if they’re willing? I don’t know too much about it besides I think I remember hearing framework uses it?
You’re probably right. I do wonder though if you could become a billionaire and outweigh the harm you have to do to become one once you achieve that marker but it’s certainly a tough question. Especially with no guarantee you’ll even make it to that height then you could become essentially evil for nothing. Plus who’s to say you don’t lose yourself in the process. The difference between a multimillionaire and a billionaire is certainly quite vast.
Yeah I agree, if I was a billionaire I’d be spending a lot of money on things that don’t just benefit myself, and I’d hope that’d make me happy at least a little bit. I think the not having happiness part comes from the hoarding part of it.
Wired HD 6XX, Fiio K1 r2r since my desktop dac is garbage, and Shure Mv7+. Obviously you don’t need anything as expensive as that but I think separate stuff will always be better. It is less convenient though for sure
Emergency get out of jail card when your stocks run out or you feel super alone after being locked in the same room with no one else for weeks/months/years
Goalpost: moved. Meaningless anecdote: used. You were literally talking about animal behavior that is inherently a scientific endeavor, saying no animal does that behavior besides orcas and saying “humans don’t count” is just wrong. You don’t get to choose colloquialism as a convenient out. I’m not sure what you’re trying to defend here. You’re adverse to humans being called animals? I don’t know why you’d think we’re so special if that’s the case.

Based on what I assume is an AI image there’s a lot of slop involved in this? If so I can’t say I’m particularly excited.

I hope so too, I guess we’ll see. Maybe I should get a new job.
I long for retirement (I’ve just started my career)

How do you see downvotes? Is it a feature of your app?
Edit nvm I guess I never even checked to see if that was an option lmao
I miss when the mtg lore was cool, and most of the sets were actual wizards stuff. Please take me back to Ravnica
Ah thanks, so this is essentially another step in having the full chain open source, that’s pretty cool.

Literal science? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_taxonomy?wprov=sfti1#Homo_sapiens_subspecies Kingdom: Animalia. The scientific literacy on Lemmy is astounding
Shit guess I’m a plant then. I’m genuinely curious what in the world makes you think this for a second.
Yea humans are animals lmao
Humans? Hello?
