Trump (is) Lost
phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 61d
He can't even tell his ass from a hole in the ground.
pachrist@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 61d
I think he can tell the difference between the thing spewing shit and the thing being splattered by it.
His supporters can't though.
billwashere@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 63d
I was just gonna do the exact same thing.
droniecarp@lemmy.zip · 28 pts · 63d
He doesn't understand anything at all.
CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 63d
Dimbulb donnie thinks he's a bigly genius because he passed a cognitive test, FFS. He thinks it is like an IQ test.
That's the level of stupidity we are dealing with. And he's surrounded himself with bootlicks that won't do anything to correct him even on simple matters like this.
TerdFerguson@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 63d
Two weeks ago, I was saying this guy was desperate for an off-ramp for this war. I really thought that there were other options that made sense from the perspective of saving face and making a show of it.
I did not expect it to be "surrender completely, pay hush money, declare undisputed victory".
BUT I SHOULD HAVE.
After all this time it still seems preposterous that someone so stupid and utterly incompetent could be holding the levers of power after all of this. It is so beyond belief it is amazing.
hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 61d
As others have said elsewhere: he does this with the complete supine support of Congress.
o0evillusion0o@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 61d
Yet nobody is doing anything about it 😂
Can't blame the guy for taking advantage of America's collective laziness.
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 61d
These people aren't smart. They don't think strategically. They literally can't think beyond the first move. They can only comprehend "Give them a lot of money, and they'll surrender."
The guy that can think 2 steps ahead could overthrow this administration with a knock knock joke.
AngryRobot@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 63d
We essentially gave Iran the ability to control the straight of hormuz. Nice job, cheeeto!
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 63d
It's not just that precedent...
It's giving them 1/3 of a trillion dollars to fortify the stait.
Like, we showed them they can't trust America long term, then essentially gave them a blank check to scale up defenses.
Like, their drones are <30k each...
They can build over 10 million of them and have billions of dollars left over.
This will most likely be looked at similarly to how WW1 was mainly just setting the stage for WW2, we all accomplished nothing and just gave a bunch of countries reasons to sink all their money into their militaries
corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 63d
That's restitution for bombing the shit out of their country, their kids, their water supply.
You do see this, right? It's not a pay-off; it's a pay back.

He was taking care of russia, not trying to win anything.
rockSlayer@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 63d
This was very clearly a war on Israel's behalf, not Russia
Impound4017@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 63d
100%, but the two aren’t mutually exclusive. The corresponding shock to oil prices certainly served Moscow’s purposes.
justaman123@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 63d
Yeah after bubby asked him to fight Iran he said hold on bubby lemme ask pap pap, and Putin said that would be ok
rockSlayer@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 63d
I haven't seen any evidence that it was a goal for this war. Current evidence shows that it was incidental and not intentional.
pelespirit@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 63d
Nah, it's both The Iran conflict is a boon for Russia’s ‘war machine.’ And it’s not just about oil
NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip · 12 pts · 63d
Let's be honest here:
NOBODY understands that war. There were no objectives and no chance of success. It was just rushing in to do a murder and then letting israel bomb more civillians because they are running out of them in Gaza.
And, like all the "great" regional wars: There actually was a REALLY good reason to go to war with iran. They were murdering protesters by the thousands in the lead up to this. Just like how Saddam and the Taliban were complete and utter monsters too. But selling on "we are going to help the brown people" would never sell either aisle on a war.
EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 63d
There was absolutely no reason to go to war with Iran. Killing protesters happens everywhere and is never an excuse to bomb a country or invade them. War is a form of terrorism and should always have a meaningful (and achievable) political objective that benefits the state engaging in it.
There are no humanitarian wars. Intervening in domestic politics implies that Iranians are children who cannot govern themselves. They vote. They have a democracy. Their society will move according to the conditions they live in.
We have had an oversized impact on Iranian life through our tariffs. We do more to undermine Iranian life with our economic policies than the leaders of Iran do with their governance. When we hear protesters used as an excuse for war, we become part of a conspiracy to further undermine Iranian democracy through escalation, when we should have been calling to better Iranian life by putting an end to tariffs.
NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 63d
So you would be opposed to any kind of intervention to prevent israel's genocide of Palestine? And... while people often forget the order of operations, nobody should have gotten involved to stop nazi germany and imperial japan when they were getting their genocide on back in the 30s/40s? Not gonna bother to ask about the Uyghurs because... we can both guess how much you care about them.
You and I are fundamentally different human beings.
mech@feddit.org · 5 pts · 63d
No one stepped in to stop nazi Germany and Japan from committing genocide.
Almost all countries even closed their borders to Jewish refugees.
The Soviet Union defended itself when it was attacked (after first invading Poland in cooperation with Germany).
China defended itself when it was attacked.
The US declared war on Japan when Japan attacked the US. Then Germany declared war on the US.
Humanitarian reasons are used to sell wars to the people fighting them, or turn them into a hero's story afterwards.
The people who start them or join them do so for different reasons.
EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 63d
I know better than to follow politicians and support their wars. If you want to support Palestinians, then engage in boycotts and demand the US stops giving material support to the Israeli military. If you wanted to help Iranians, then you should’ve opposed tariffs.
If the peace deal holds, then the tariffs will be lifted, meaning that the Iranian government will have won back better conditions for their people with this war. That’s what victory for Iran means: no tariffs and money to rebuild to create better conditions for regular Iranians.
Iran is up and you’re complaining you didn’t get to bomb them more. We really are different.
Mardukas@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 63d
I do not argue your point on invading another country. However, a lot of states are democracies on paper. In the case if Iran, there is no vote that will get them out of this situation.

Apologies for the vulgarity, I don't know how to be any clearer. Somewhere in there is this voice saying "I can do better than that fing n!"
Even before then Trump had a serious racist powered grudge against President Obama but I think the 2011 White house press dinner ratcheted it up https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nykVn_XAEks
I am hard pressed to remember any other time President Obama was this eloquently vicious. https://youtu.be/-QqVyd6WMg4 (18 minutes long, but totally worth it). Kinda sad that President Obama called it with what has happened to the white house.
Side note I am skipping over using the title of president for Trump because he stated publicly they rigged the election https://youtu.be/TTHonqrM7Vc
bold_atlas@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 62d
Lets not let him take all the credit. Congress utterly failed to put a stop to it. The military's performance was just as bad. Like shockingly bad.
This was a team effort.

Ugh, I'm sick of these headlines that suggest he is a fool.
You're the fool if you fell for it.
Trump made a ton of money off of this war for him, his family, and the military industrial complex. He's going to keep doing it until we make him suffer.
Trump doesn't care about the interest of the US or the people in any of the countries involved in this war. He only cares about how much money he can pilfer during his presidency. And, unfortunately, he's doing very well at that.
Writing articles suggesting that he's lost is bad. It's feel good journalism, but it's not the truth. We need to actually make him lose, or he's going to keep stealing our money and lives for future bullshit wars to enrich himself.
phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 7 pts · 61d
It's possible to be corrupt yet still a fool.
BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 61d
Man is a corrupt fool and idiot. Yes he made money off this and was part of the intention, but he was stupid in thinking it'd be a case of dropping some bombs and killing brown people that would make him popular again. A fool for not knowing or understanding the economic crisis this would cause. And ultimately, end of the day, he doesn't care about anything else but himself and how people view him.
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 61d
This is it. He knows his popularity is in bad trouble, and he trying to stop the bleeding. He's phenomenally ignorant and Sociopathic, so he believes that everyone thinks just like he does. So if he starts a war, everybody will rally behind him. And if he WINS it, then he'll be a hero forever.
He doesn't understand that EVERYBODY sees right through him, and not only knows exactly why he's doing it (to create adulation), but knows he will screw it up phenomenally, in a world class way that only Trump can do.
And even if he wins, we'd STILL all hate him. He doesn't understand that nobody is ever coming back to his side, if they were ever there in the first place. We don't hate him for the war - well, we do - but we hate him for ALL the stuff that has gone on before. The war was just one more thing, on top of the already enormous pile. Actually winning the war doesn't militgate any of the other treason, racism, pedophilia, rape, stupidity, violence, etc. that he's already committed.
quick_snail@feddit.nl · 1 pts · 61d
Again, you're the fool.
Trunp literally does not care about anything else other than making money. He's not a fool. He played us and won. And apparently he fooled the media too.
BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 61d
He can be MANY things. But hey, continue to insult people, that'll get you far I'm for certain.
Lasherz12@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 63d
Not really sure we should care what any Atlantic article shows considering they're compromised. https://github.com/nzaki-dev/dialog
lightnsfw@reddthat.com · 3 pts · 61d
I don't think there's a single thing he does understand. He was an idiot to start with and now his brain has gone to mush. The fact that there are no adults in our government disposing of this motherfucker for his incompetence (let alone the fact that he's a criminal and a traitor) being a danger to our country is insane.
barneyrubble@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 61d
Did trump not understand the Declaration of Independence when they read it to him and drew stick figures for him?
Murse@slrpnk.net · 2 pts · 63d
Reconsider any of his actions through the lens of him deliberately wanting what's worst for the US, and suddenly he makes a lot more sense.
He isn't an idiot who doesn't understand the wars he's starting, blundering his way to failure; he's a domestic enemy of the US doing everything in his power to weaken us.
He's playing the village idiot because it fucking works - we give him the village idiot pass again and again because stupidity mitigates intent.
He's a personification of the fucking Darth Jar Jar theory.
Treczoks@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 61d
