This is too close to reality to be satire

cannedtuna@lemmy.world · 59 pts · 41d

The line between reality and satire is often thin.

But not quite as thin as the system requirements needed to run Linux /s

Welcome to the whole comedy of this guy. You cry, you feel it and it hurts.

nialv7@lemmy.world · 47 pts · 41d (1 reply)

This is what I want to be if only I don't have social anxiety.

*heavy breathing on the bus* “Linus Torvalds

“What?”

“Actually it’s “who.” So way back when..”

"now my machine run games" 🔥 🔥🔥 📢 📢 📢

This is very close to how I act towards my dad whenever he complains about his Windows 11 updates and performance.

SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org · 12 pts · 41d (1 reply)

I put my dad on Mint years ago. No more complaints!

0x0@infosec.pub · 6 pts · 40d

Hah, mine too. Astonishingly little support needed since, we stopped talking

dingleberrylover@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 41d

I love his videos. They are so accurate.

mr_eckneim@feddit.org · 14 pts · 40d

400MB idle? He needs to debloat his system man

N0t_5ure@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 41d

This is hilarious!

Vakbrain@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 41d

I feel personally attacked for some reasons

1984@lemmy.today · 10 pts · 40d (2 replies)

Truth hurts.

0x0@infosec.pub · 7 pts · 40d (1 reply)

I run arch btw

1984@lemmy.today · 8 pts · 40d

Its like the famous saying...

  • How do you know someone runs arch?

  • Because they will tell you about it.

TrickDacy@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 41d (2 replies)

Satire is someone making annoyingly good points, annoyingly? Ok

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 11 pts · 41d (1 reply)

This is meant to be a caricature of a Linux evangelist, not a 100% accurate portrayal of a Linux evangelist

it's good satire because there are valid points thrown in, but also some completely irrelevant ones

BlindFrog@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 41d

"now my machine runs games!"
wheezes in linux

Kanda@reddthat.com · 6 pts · 40d

Guy just trying to get his chess puzzles in

decolo@piefed.social · 5 pts · 41d (1 reply)

Myaaah!!

TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 41d

It's so perfect. Like a nerdier version of the guy who ties women to train tracks.

ekZepp@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 39d

That's really only downside of using Linux. You have to keep doing jogging everyday. Otherwise you can't keep up with the uninitiated speed.

Sanguine@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 41d

Lmao

pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 41d (4 replies)

I wish my computer runs 400mb idle. Unfortunately it doesn't. Too many tabs and shit open

ryannathans@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 40d (3 replies)

Then that's not idle

pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 40d (2 replies)

So like only essential tasks open?

ryannathans@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 39d (1 reply)

Idle would be with nothing open

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 1 pts · 39d

TBH my system doesn't even that little on idle, and I'm using LXQt. I don't think it was that low even when I was running just a window manager on a real machine (i.e. with audio, wifi etc. running). I'd probably have to use Void or Alpine to get there. But w/e, I got my laptop 16GB RAM last year, which is about the only hardware stat it has that's actually decent lol

provectus@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 35d

This is me. Problem is that every person I encounter is like "Wow, I did not know windows does all these bad things... Anyways"
