That's less offensive than calling them a punk band

Luffy879@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 14d

Don't get the down votes

Except american idiot most of their songs is literally about getting laid and skateboarding and whatever was cool in the 90s

Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -1 pts · 14d (4 replies)

excuse me, it's Punk Rock

the_crotch@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 14d (3 replies)

Sure, then so is Miley Cyrus

Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 14d (2 replies)

I was half joking, but some of Miley's stuff does have a punk rock vibe to it.

100% forgot about this song:

Also, curious what genre you would call the album, Dookie then? I didnt listen to much of greenday except for Kerplunk and Dookie.

Pop-punk. Imo it's too mild and overproduced for a proper punk album.

Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 14d

well yeah, punk is not punk rock, nor pop punk, or hardcore punk, or ska punk, or the other 100 punk versions out there.

BilSabab@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 15d

oh well

Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 15d (7 replies)

I think they even made a Saturday morning cartoon about these things.

TheTechnician27@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 15d (3 replies)

You're close:

The toyline expanded into a franchise with a comic book series, two direct-to-video animated cartoons, and a video game for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Commodore 64.

goomba@fedia.io · 13 pts · 15d

I looked into it more, and it looks like theres also a more recent YouTube channel with a lot of videos (animated and live action) from about 8-9 years ago.

AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space · 2 pts · 15d (1 reply)

Did the Spectrum and Amstrad have much of a presence in the US, or was the game made for the UK market?

TheTechnician27@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 15d

I mean I can say that on MobyGames every listed review (keeping in mind this is user-generated content and could be biased) is from a UK magazine, that they only have the UK box art, and that the listed releases are all from the UK. I'd err on "UK-exclusive" given that circumstantial evidence.

I don't know how to switch accounts and fucked up my wife's entire persona she was building by commenting under her account. Instead of deleting the comments when I realised my mistake, I instead just switched accounts and left those comments there for her to find when she woke up. I claim to have planned to go back to delete them, but instead I was just gonna completely forget about them.

I am so smart 🤓

And a movie.

I thought they were awful then, I reacted badly to their existence. And, 40 years later, take efforts to write this comment to express my displeasure; which gives me satisfaction.

Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio · 8 pts · 15d

You were lame then, you're lame now.

BilSabab@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 15d

ok

schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 15d

40 years too late to drive sales with your disapproval.

Remember Garbage Pail Kids cards? Once I saw concerned parents burning them on the local news, I had to get them.

starik@lemmy.today · -1 pts · 15d (2 replies)

So trashy. Toys for kids with rat tail haircuts.

valar@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 15d (1 reply)

Party poopers

starik@lemmy.today · -1 pts · 15d

For kids who stomp on bugs.

Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 15d (2 replies)

I had way too many of these.

bus_factor@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 15d (1 reply)

You could have stopped after collecting all eight.

Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 15d

Eight of anything besides GI Joe guys, TransFormers or Hot Wheels is a lot. So I probably had all of them and I had like 3 or 4 of the eyeball one. I loved shit like this, and garbage pail kids

I've never heard of this game and it's in my Steam library. Must have been bundled somewhere at some point.

Thyazide@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 15d

It was 99 cents in 2016 according to cheapshark.com

BilSabab@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 15d

damn

toynbee@piefed.social · 1 pts · 14d

Very early on in our relationship - long before she was my wife - I played this game with my wife. I didn't know it was part of a media franchise at the time.

YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 14d

85? I had some of these and am younger than that.

Impractical_Island@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 14d

This reminded me of Silly Slammers and that was pure nostalgia
