Often I am disappointed when I go make the obvious dad joke, but someone has already made some half assed version that is not nearly as painful and ridiculous as it could be.
But then I occasionally come across a gem like this that is absolute perfection and so much better than what I had in mind. It's like a little gut punch that drives just a little bit of air from your body in surprise.
Thank you for this little comment that physically pained me to read, and now will pain me twice as much throughout the day as I suddenly remember it and want to tell it to someone else, but can't, because it is totally situational and could never be the same second hand.
Apparently they're naturally green/yellow but budgies are parakeets and they come in every color you can imagine, my favorite one was almost completely white/the palest blue.
elote - m. Mazorca tierna de maíz, que se consume, cocida o asada, como alimento en México y otros países de América Central. Del náhuatl élotl.
Ok, so in Mexico it's called elote because the name comes from nahuatl. In South American it's called choclo because the name comes from quechua (choccllo) and in Spain it's called maíz because it's from taíno word mahís.

A parakeet is a green parrot (bird) for all those who would have had to look it up (like me)

If you need someone to talk to, there's always corn.
Corn is all ears.

I thought "cotorrito muerto" meant corn suicide so this meme was slightly funnier to me
