Next you're going to tell me people don't have to wait until 4:20 to smoke weed

Zachariah@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 25d (8 replies)

it’s always 4:20 somewhere

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 25d (7 replies)

That's.....not how timezones work, with the minutes.

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 24d

I take my time by the sun.or moon, as the occasion presents.

Take another toke and it'll make sense

gigastasio@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 25d

Wait. What???

bitteroldcoot@piefed.social · 17 pts · 25d (4 replies)

Easy for you to say.

But I've developed a fear of uncooked lettuce.

LogicalDrivel@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 25d

Im sure they can microwave your lettuce for you, if you ask.

Sibshops@lemmy.myserv.one · 2 pts · 25d (2 replies)

Tacos shouldn't have lettuce...

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 24d (1 reply)

Tacos can have anything. You tale your leftovers, put them in a fresh tortilla, give it a quick BAM! from your spice weasel and BAM! you've got a taco

yermaw@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 24d

I gotta get a screenshot of this notch upknocking

But I like the alliteration.

Then how about this:

Taco Time, Today!

We have Taco every time the strait is open … or close … or when the reflecting pool is filled or emptied … or …

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 25d (3 replies)

No you can't. You can't even have tacos on Tuesday. Tacos have lettuce in them.

Nobody in 2026 is going to eat lettuce.

bridgeburner@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 25d (1 reply)

You know, this might be shocking to hear for you, but other countries outside the US exist.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 25d

People that grow their own are probably really popular and/or smug right about now.

apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 25d (5 replies)

We do tacos multiple times a week, because why is there a specific day for such bliss? (Edit: I mean this in the broad context, not in the historical context of the origins in a marketing scheme.)

TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 25d (2 replies)

Started as a promotional thing to increase traffic to Mexican restaurants in America.

Tuesday is the slowest day of the week for eating out in America, at least back when this marketing scheme launched.

apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 25d (1 reply)

I know but we're talking about modern uses, why constrain your life to marketing campaigns?

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 25d

What're you, some kind of communist?

theedqueen@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 25d (1 reply)

Because some restaurants have deals for taco Tuesday so it may be worth it to some to wait to save some money.

apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 25d

Save some money and learn to make them yourself.

mhzawadi@lemmy.horwood.cloud · 4 pts · 25d (1 reply)

When is burrito day?

elephantium@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 23d

Every day can be burrito day if you like...but I can't answer for the results on your digestive system.

mastertigurius@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 25d

Friday is the typical taco day in Norway. If you're in the northern US or Canada, I'm pretty sure you have valid reason to adopt this proud tradition from the old country.

Dookieman12@piefed.social · 4 pts · 25d (1 reply)

Yeah, but if you have it whenever you want, it becomes less special

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 24d

Enchiladas are the special one

Stache_@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 25d

Didn’t Taco Bell bully a small taco shop in New Mexico into releasing the trademark on “Taco Tuesday”, saying it’s such a household term that it should be free for everyone to use. Then they snatched the trademark up immediately and started using it and enforcing it
