I've noticed that if I listen to a song I loved but haven't heard in a long time, I'll get goosebumps. I'm not sure why exactly but I'm wondering what other kinds of experiences people find they get goosebumps from.

TIL, thanks for sharing. It's so cool to learn about this because it lines up so much with my experience of music throughout my life.

There used to be a Reddit group dedicated to it. I haven't found anything similar since moving to Lemmy.

It's community as weird and niche like that that's hard to find or start and maintain on the threadiverse¹ that I miss from reddit.

If you build it, they will come.

Forgot to add that I don't want to deal with building a community 😅
Yeah I'm part of the chicken and egg problem we have here but that's just super hard work for me

Any media that resonates with me, music can get me to cry pretty easily too tbh. Usually has to be something new though, familiar music doesn't really cause me goosebumps.

So I will then haha. It's cathartic to fry myself sometimes.

Not many things gave me goosebumps, but one song that did almost without fail for the first couple weeks that I'd binge listen to it, was gonna know we were here. I'm not normally a country fan, but for some reason that song in general would do it every time.
I eventually listened to it enough that I can't even bear hearing the song anymore, but for a while it was the only thing I'd listen to.

Big n Rich's first album does it for me. It just stands alone. I'm also not into country at all, but that album in a dark room alone at night is magical.
Yes, I realize theyre not good people. However there was nothing bad about the lyrical content in that first album, plus it had cowboy troy!

Certain movie scenes. When I was a kid I watched Back to the Future a lot, and the scenes with the DeLorean always did it.
Also certain memories when they come at opportune times.
And rarely when I pee...usually when I'm too hot after exerting in the summer heat.

Recognizing certain music definitely does it to me too. Especially if I have strong memories around that song.
Other times I'll get it from music I don't recognize if it has strong multi layered harmonies.

hearing the words good boy.

Music certainly does. Probably the main emotional cause, followed by staying out too late while stargazing and getting spooked by casual bumps in the night.
A good scream or a sustained wail will do it. Do you like metal? Lacuna Coil - Sleep Paralysis comes to mind.
