Schutzstaffel was a paramilitary unit under Adolf Hitler started in 1925 for “protection”. It started with 10 men, and by 1944 it was almost a million strong.
Due to the United States constitution and the information age of technology, it would not be possible for Trump to create a new paramilitary force, so instead he simply co-opted and weaponized the most politically radical police force in our country - Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The SS were the enforces of Nazi ideology and “law”. They kidnapped dissidents and foreigners. They facilitated and ran the camps. They are the ones who did the holocaust.
ICE are the enforcers of MAGA ideology and “law”. They kidnap dissidents and foreigners. They facilitate and run the camps. They are the ones doing mass deportation to foreign authoritarian death camps.
Most countries (125 nation states) define mass deportation as a crime against humanity in accordance with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Under international Law genocide is defined mostly as mass murder against a national, ethnic, or religious group… but also just creating life conditions meant to destroy the group physically, and/or forcibly moving children to another “group”.
ICE agents are Trump’s modern day Nazi SS.
I am not drawing parallels here. I am just tracing the lines. It’s the same fucking picture. The only reason there are less dead bodies and missing persons, is because almost everyone can see almost everything as it’s happening now.
Imagine if Hitler was an incompetent moron who had to deal with smart phones and social media.

We're actually close to 1936, when they started rounding up the first disabled people to send them to special hospitals to get the beat treatment, only to have their families receive a letter that their loved one had passed away.
The clergy were the first to detect the pattern, as each family in their congregation that had been ordered to send their family to the treatment facility got the same letters, and clergy figured out that a euthanasia program was underway.
They spoke out, and Hitler acted shocked at this news, and pledged to end the program, and find out who was responsible, but it was only made more secretive, and of course, evolved into the Holocaust.
We haven't reached that point yet, but we are building the concentration camps required to hold everyone. I suspect that they intend to use ANTIFA Domestic Terrorists as 13th Amendment Prison Slaves, to replace the foreign workers who used to pick crops and such.

Sometimes I use it to clean up graphics that I've done, so they look tighter, but it's extremely frustrating. Half the time it says "Ta-Daa!" and there's nothing there. You tell it there's no image, and it says "You're right, I didn't show the image, upload the original and I'll get it right this time," and it still doesn't display the graphic.
Finally it tells me I used up all my requests until it resets at some future unknown time, but it will keep me company until then.
No thanks, I'm not interested in snuggling with a sexually harrassing AI.
It's like the worst employee I've ever had. If it WAS an employee, I'd fire it every day.

My son is an excellent writer, and he's in college, and he's terrified that his writing for assignments is going to be attributed to AI. I just tell him you can't worry about that, and just write. If someone makes the accusation, they'll have to prove it.
Besides, he's smart in every other way, too. It won't take long for his profs to recognize that he's too smart to use AI.

I've already made my peace with the idea that Trump will never see justice and will die a free man, but there are plenty of younger men in his administration who have many years ahead of them, and the crimes they've committed and will commit have consequences that reach far beyond 2028, whether or not they willingly leave office at that time. Sooner or later, someone answers for this horseshit, and I and many others are and will be harassing our representatives to make sure that happens -- me, personally, I'd really like to see Russell Vought and Stephen Miller spend their final years in a cell.
I just have to keep telling myself that in mid-1939, before the war but well after much repression, probably nobody in Germany thought the Nazis would ever be punished for what they were doing to Jewish people.
I also have a nice bottle of wine saved for Trump's death, but I was very tempted to open it if we got McConnell and Graham in the same week. Alas, it was not to be.

Let me preface this with the caveat that I desperately want the ghouls to be lined up and shot. That's not hyperbolic I truly believe they deserve it.
Having said that, I'm just thinking about American history in general. Plenty of people, including former presidents, who have done unconscionable things to others and were never punished or straight up celebrated.
The president that perpetrated the Trail of Tears, a big defining moment of our genocide against the Native Americans who were here before whitey showed up, is literally on our $20 bill. The dude that ignored the Supreme Court order and proceeded to round up tens of thousands of humans that died due to his actions is memorialized on our currency.
I want a currency redesign for our country that doesn't celebrate any presidents at all, let's put other cooler stuff on it than dead white guys. (Yes I know technically that's not all our currency)
It's not surprising Trump hung Jackson's portrait up in the oval office. He really loves that asshole.
This is just one of the many times I've said something and really want to be wrong. Sadly, it seems that most of the time I want to be wrong I'm right even if my prediction is suckville.

I was once in pre-Putin Russia and the police took my car away. My hosts had some influence and talked to the chief, who turned red like a tomato, and I didn't have to pay the fine. Which would've been something like 50 rubles. We then took our piece of paper and tried the same with the company that was running the impound lot. They were not touched at all by the influence and we had to pay to get the car out - 400 rubles.
I learned something that day. About capitalism, I guess.

My Grandfather and my Uncle were both clowns for the Shriners. My grandfather was one of the sweetest people anyone ever met, newscasters came to his funeral because they'd done stories on him visiting kids in the hospital.
My Uncle was a dickhead, and a typical dumb meathead MAGA. He died alone, with no family around him at all. The only reason we found out was because my wife had a weird feeling in the middle of the night, Googled him, and found that he had died a few days before.
So I'm 50/50 on clowns.

Difference? While both are against the Rome Statute, they are in fact under different articles. Why? Some things are crimes that only apply when done by soldiers in war, while others are crimes against all of humanity when done irrespective of whether any party was a soldier or not.

I want to see the assholes responsible for this dragged into Congress to get asked some questions, in front of cameras.
For starters. Get these motherfuckers on record, and get everything ready for action if/when the Democrats get any power again. Conservatives and Republicans need to have examples set, apparently, because they haven't had to face any consequences since at least Nixon. They got away with Iran/Contra, too, essentially. With W's war crimes. And now both terms of Donvict.

I want to address the pardons, which nobody else talks about. We don't have to accept those pardons, no matter what the Constitution says. He issued those pardons to directly subvert and obstruct justice, using the promise of pardons to convince people to commit crime. That is not a use that the Founding Fathers dreamed of.
Re-arrest ALL of them, charge them with new crimes if they have to, and put them all back in prison. If they want, they can follow their beloved ICE recommendations, and "self-deport" themselves back to prison to fill out their original terms.
Those who don't show up, will have their terms doubled, once they are caught, and there will be no statute of limitations on Pardon Jumpers. We will hound Jan 6 Traitors until the day they die.
And pardons that were paid for, are not pardons, they're crimes, and anyone who paid or facilitated a bribe should get a very long, harsh sentence.
And when they are caught, the justice system will grind very slowly, making sure they get every bit of the Constitutional rights maintained, for as long as it takes. They may sit in prison for 4 or 5 years, just to get into court to argue about the pardon for their 7 month sentence. Or they can just eat their original sentence, and STFU.
