This is pretty fucking believable.

fake@sh.itjust.works · 37 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Which means the reality of 2027 is going to be far stupider

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 13 pts · 2d

2027-2028 are going be insane. Every MAGA knows that if the Dems take over the Legislature in 2026, then the Presidency AND extend their majority on Congress in 2028, then a LOT of MAGAs are going to prison, and some may even be executed.

So they will be desperate to make sure we are fully under MAGA control by 2028, and that will require massive violence. The good news is that we already know that MAGAs are virtuosically incompetent, so they will fuck it all up, and lose in the end, but the damage they will do along the way will be incalculable. That will give us the justification to treat MAGA as the Domestic Terrorist Organization, and an active, ongoing, enthusiastic National Security Threat that they clearly are, and prohibit them from existing, and purge them from our government and our society.

The Solar American System and its eight planets: Barron, Natalie, America, Melania, Trump™'s Big Beautiful Planet, Ivanka, Don Jr. And Eric.

Gutek8134@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 3d (4 replies)

IIRC most of the planets in the system were named after Roman gods, so it doesn't sound too far fetched

RidderSport@feddit.org · 11 pts · 2d (3 replies)

All apart from Earth. Which is probably just because every language had a word for the planet they life on before Roman names were introduced for planets you can't see with the bare eye.

igmelonh@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Uranus is Greek; the Roman equivalent would be Caelus.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 2d

That makes sense.

alsimoneau@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 1d

Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can be easily seen with the naked eye

taygaloocat@leminal.space · -3 pts · 2d (3 replies)

Trump is pretty evil, but it's hard to justify taking him down when he was technically democratically elected. He's a symptom of a bigger problem, can definitely take him down if he tries for a third term.

Bluedragon012@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d (1 reply)

He was not, if citizens are brainwashed to elect him and there is strong evidence of interference... Is he "elected"? . He needs to be taken down now. Stopped at minimum. Removed.

GreenBeard@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 1d

I think you may be falling for a little self-deception. Whether by ignorance or malice, people genuinely believe that this is good. Trump is a focus of a rot that runs a lot deeper, in every nation, but most malignantly in the US. You want to know why the world is struggling to take down a very clear and obvious evil? It's because the call is coming from inside the house. The path to him involves a sea of millions of degenerate human lives. That's a hard pill to swallow and a lot of distasteful actions to deal with.

Etterra@discuss.online · 2 pts · 1d

In his case I'm more worried about making a martyr out of the jackass.

CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today · 21 pts · 2d (4 replies)

It's gonna start to get confusing pretty damn soon, calling everything America. Every body of water, and everything in our solar system.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 14 pts · 2d (2 replies)

He's already said that he's thinking of renaming both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. That won't cause any problems at all. /S

So stupid. Obviously, the solution is to name one ocean after America, and the other one after Trump.

CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 2d

As soon as he's dead, TPTB better switch everything back to the original names.

SethTaylor@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d

This Trump guy... always changing names, never pronouns. So boring

conartistpanda@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d

When everything is America, nothing will be.

M137@lemmy.today · 20 pts · 2d (4 replies)

The most implausible part of that is that the AI bubble will pop that soon.

Nalivai@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 2d

The main portion of dot com bubble was about 5 years long, so it's actually pretty realistic estimations

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 2d

Nobody knows when a bubble will pop. It could be literally today.

uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 2d

Although, a recent How Money Works video makes a strong case that a 2026 AI collapse is at least on the BINGO card.

ETA: I think it's this one (on YouTube) but I'm not entirely sure. Otherwise, it's this one.

krisevol@lemmus.org · 1 pts · 2d

The bubble is going to pop soon. AI is integrated into everything we do, so investments are going to stall as we transition from speculation to profit based evaluations.

BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 2d (6 replies)

Tbh this renaming everything to America or Trump thing will get confusing real soon. Gulf of America (classic), Gulf of America (new), and Gulf of America (new 2)? How about keeping Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of California, and Gulf of St Lawrence?
