The usual solution to something loud and annoying in an indoor public space is to turn it off…but it’s kind of unethical to do that to a child, so yes, this is the next best option.
If you’re so upset by some loud noises in public, be an adult and account for it, loud noises happen, and unless there’s specific rules against it, you’re a controlling ass.
Bring some headphones so you can ignore the world and live in your bubble, since it’s a public place and noises are going to happen. Are you expecting public places to be like a library? Maybe you should just hide there since it’s quiet.

Calling out a child abusing wannabe is not the same thing, and the whole point of Lemmy is to allow outsiders in and communicate so it’s not a walled garden or “safe space”.
People can be childfree, most people have a line to what that means though, and it’s well before child abuse or murder.
Read OPs comments, they aren’t the type of user who should be allowed to post and comment here, but there’s zero moderation.

The usual solution to something loud and annoying in an indoor public space is to turn it off…but it’s kind of unethical to do that to a child, so yes, this is the next best option.

If you’re so upset by some loud noises in public, be an adult and account for it, loud noises happen, and unless there’s specific rules against it, you’re a controlling ass.
Bring some headphones so you can ignore the world and live in your bubble, since it’s a public place and noises are going to happen. Are you expecting public places to be like a library? Maybe you should just hide there since it’s quiet.
If you can’t handle being out of your safe space and in public, don’t get mad at the public. Why does the public need to cater to your sole needs? There’s solutions to your problems that don’t involve other people. There’s plenty of places that have what you want, you demanding every place be like that is incredibly self centered and selfish.

Yes, that is quite literally what a large portion of people think and expect.
They expect children to be like soldiers and follow commands on being spoken, and get upset when anyone talks back or make loud noises. Even other adults.
It’s weird that they think everyone else needs to accommodate their needs, but are completely oblivious to anyone others.
They can get upset and lash out when there’s a loud noise? But a child can’t? The adult is allowed to loose control? That’s backwards, but they’ll never care or notice.
