Weeeeelllllllll. I never realized there was much of a "radical left" until Lemmy. I'm a SOLID progressive. I would consider myself a social Democrat. If you are the same then a Marxist Leninist leftist would consider you an enemy. They don't think their policies could ever be truly enacted through gradual change and that a violent revolution is essentially required.

I'm not a centrist, but ML leftists scare the shit out of me. Meeting them on Lemmy is when I discovered that I'm not actually a "leftist" and it made me do quite a bit of soul searching on what these political terms actually mean.

I used to be that way at that age. I used to take delight in smelling fresh coffee grounds in the morning while making my coffee, and telling myself "Enjoy it while you can, because you never know when it'll be the last time."

Living like that was stressful. I'm in my late 30's now. It eventually goes away and you just learn to enjoy the life you've got without putting the pressure of "... this goes away at some point," weighing down on you all the time.

I can't even imagine the struggle having to deal with family like this. It's nice to know that they are trying, but you'll need to strengthen your resolve. You look fantastic. You don't need their validation to keep being you. The best thing that you can do is have confidence in yourself. You are a beautiful person, and when you show confidence in who you are, people will be more accepting. You need a "This who I am, now fucking deal with." And show ZERO shame for being yourself. When your mother acts like this, then she can fuck off.

I can totally understand that having "confidence" is extremely difficult in a stage of your life like this, but fake it if you need to. Fake it until you make it. Speak loud and proud, be mindful of your posture and your mental mindset - tell yourself that you are in control of your life, your body, your actions. If you feel that you're losing confidence, divest yourself from the situation and build yourself back up.

You got this.

I mean, there's plenty of things that can be considered left-leaning about it, but they all pretty much surround the culture of programming work. I would tend to agree that there's nothing inherently leftist about programming in general, but I could see how they may feel about it when discussing open source software, AI, and how progressive the general demographics of college educated programmers would tend to be.

That said, your response is a little.... much.

That's not entirely true though. Biden got through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that invested heavily in developing rural electric and internet. He also supported the USDA ReConnect Program, and several other initiatives. Many of these things that Democrats helped pushed through were celebrated as "wins" by Republican Representatives.

What were they expecting?

Edit". I will say that more investments should have been made in education, but I will always say that we don't invest enough in education.

It's a great age. It's also a great time to start building good habits. If I could go back, I would have spent so much more time developing better sleep and workout habits. Lack of sleep and working out has absolutely wrecked me.

Iran has been supplying Shahed drones to the Russian military since the start of the conflict. Ukraine told them to stop supplying Russia with the very weapons that enable Russia to strike their cities.

Ukraine didn't go out of their way to start attacking random ships or murder Iranian citizens, or even attack their infrastructure. They sank a ship carrying weapons that Russia was intended to use to hurt them. That's pretty justifiable.

I'm sorry bud, but this is an absolutely ridiculous take.

Russia has been using Iranian Shahed drones to conduct nearly all of their long range drone attacks. In return, Russia has been supplying Iran with Intelligence on the US.

Ukraine didn't just randomly attack a cargo ship. They are effectively preventing Russia from acquiring weapons. Ukraine warned Iran to stop supporting Russia with drones and to not escalate their support. Iran didn't listen.

This has everything to do with defense.

We have Quality Documentation and flowcharts of what processes are to be performed, but how we specifically handle those processes is lacking. If we lost our senior engineers, the whole thing would come crashing down. We have no searchable database of past projects, so you can't easily search for similar designs unless someone specifically knows what project code to give you. Our drawing practices are not standardized. We have dozens of excel sheets that document critical information but there's no organized locations for any of them. Any attempt to organize our materials database gets shot down as a waste of time.

The list goes on and on...

Shut up and take my money!

For real though, casual and chill-out games are so cathartic. Sure, I love my edgy soulsborne action adventures... But a couple of edibles and some Slime Rancher and I'm happy as a clam.

Lol no. Have people ever done drugs in a library? Sure. They e also done them at churches, and schools, and town centers, and pretty much everywhere.

Have people ever had sex in libraries? Sure. They e also had sex at churches, and schools, and town centers, and pretty much everywhere.

Are all of those places now drug ridden sex dens? Lol no. But Fox clearly has an agenda to get rid of free places that educate and assist people. They could do the same article and just say "public schools" so that conservatives clutch their pearls and buy into charter or religious private schools.

Conservatives are a simple, fearful bunch.

He's a meathead strong, alpha man in a position with a lot of public eyes that other meatheads strong, alpha men can look up to for guidance.

Hey, if his admission to being tricked by Trump's lies causes other MAGA folks strong, independent thinkers to have a little introspection and change, I'm all for it.

The Democrats are asking for the following:

  • Extension & expansion of health-care subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This was set to expire at the end of 2025, and would drive up insurance costs for millions of low-income and middle class families if not subsidized.
  • Reversal or protection against Republican-led cuts in Medicaid / other health programs. The BBB removed a lot of people from Medicade coverage, they want to prevent it from getting worse and guarantee protection for US citizens.
  • A meaningful say in any continuing resolution (CR) or stop-gap that reopens the government.

Essentially, Republicans are trying to ram through legislation that fuck over a lot of people. Democrats are trying to prevent a lot of people from being fucked over, and have essentially told Republicans that you need to work with us on these things....like, you know, a functional government is supposed to do.

Fluids, ht, chemical, and thermo are your best bets.

You need to check out Anaconda if your developing in python. It's got most every package (and then some) that you'll ever need for number crunching and data visualization. Sorry this is a waaay late reply to your post.

Not sure if you're just blatantly ignorant of what's actually happening or if this is just an attempt to smear Democrats, but it'd be nice if a Republican could take the extra 5 minutes to actually read about what's going on. I'll do it for you (you're welcome).

Sen. Hawley introduced the "Keep SNAP Funded Act of 2025" on Oct. 21st. It's currently with the Senate Appropriations Committee, as of that time. It's not likely to go anywhere though as REPUBLICAN LEADERS, are not prioritizing it. From a Politico article, there were several quotes from Republicans stating that they don't want a stopgap, that it doesn't actually fix the problem.

But hey, it's so much more convenient to just blame Democrats for every problem, isn't it?

I'm assuming that your an American that has drunk the alt-right kool-aid and now believes, without a doubt or shred of evidence, that this happens to be true.

You'd be hard pressed to find a single case of liberalism causing any sort of terrorism, but good luck Hoss.
