It's an audio issue. That never happened in thr early 2000s such as in Lord of the Rings which is weird when you think about the things that have regressed.

Mass Psychosis, I think it's called, when everyone gets swept in a single line of thought and herd mentality sets in.

Also lack of genuine self-awareness on their own true intentions. To them, being greedy is so ingrained they can't see it as a hazard to themselves until its too late.
