Cut their funding massively and that's what you get I guess. PBS also got massive cuts under Trump, information is the enemy of the state.

He was literally on his way to sentencing but the American people voted him into office and the supreme court said he can do anything and it's legal. They'd have to make up some bs to get him in jail at this point but who cares. The Republicans will call foul play but they will do that even if you gave them everything so...

Because most Americans can't name a single bill passed in the last 10 years or who is in the senate or literally anything about politics at all? Biden passed like 7 major bills while the senate was almost 50/50 split republican/democrat. To get 7 actually good bills passed in that climate is a miracle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/117th_United_States_Congress

It's like people think democrats become kings when they get into office. Literally half the country is sub 100 iq, is moderately/extremely racist, and keeps voting in room temperature iq Republicans into the senate. About 1/3rd of the country voted for Trump AFTER we knew he was a felon and tried to steal the election.

I ask them "why is trump calling for the deaths of politicians if you agree there's too much political violence and dissonance?" Well they didn't hear it on fox news that he called for their deaths so it's probably the woke media lying. They will ask for everything and give nothing.

And also they don't care that much so they won't look into it (look into it, i.e. click 1 link to his post calling for politicians to be killed). And even if he did do it he was probably joking. And even if he wasn't they found 1 insane person on YouTube who is calling for people's deaths too, which is the same as the president that they elected saying it to hundreds of millions of people I guess.

It's generally not on the individual to make public transport changes (besides carpooling and biking where possible), just make sure you're voting for people who are willing to make more bus routes and invest in public transport. Local elections really matter for this.

I'm not even opposed to the substance of what they're saying, it's just the way they've framed it as "eye for an eye" or "I told you so" is not fair at all. The amount of horror and loss they subjected everyone else to, while ignoring and waving off every warning sign. If someone lost their family because of trump they would call this guy a monster and be even more disgusted that now he cares only because he was personally affected. That's not an "I told you so haha."

I am personally lucky enough to not be in the shoes of people who were impacted, so I try to do what you and op have said. If someone is affected though, I can say they should try and move forward and pull in someone who's learned better, but that's a huge ask to do for someone who has directly contributed to ruining parts of your life.

In my generation at least almost everyone said gay as a synonym for lame or whatever, but didn't really connect the dots between the word and gay as in homosexual. Almost everyone I know that used to use it/still use it, if they learn someone around them is gay they're like "he's gay? k" and they aren't homophobic in the least. It just turned into such a common thing that it got somewhat disconnected from the orientation meaning. I just stopped using it because I saw actual hateful people using it and didn't want to be mistaken for them.

Hard disagree, I've met some super nice people who have 0 friends because they're just shy and awkward or have anxiety, or are just plain weird. You can't expect those people to be open and sociable when they hardly ever talk to people. Add on to that you have to make a huge effort to meet new people when you're an adult, things being so online, loss of 3rd spaces, and that covid socially stunted so many people.

A lot of us are just tired of dealing with the actual children that compose 90% of maga, you give someone 900 warning signs and they say "lol funny angry liberals!!" You're not sneering at them for being on the wrong side of history, you're sneering at them for ignoring every single sign on purpose because they thought it wouldn't affect them. It's like people watching videos of auschwitz and then turning in their neighbor anyway to own the libs. I can see people not being willing to use kid gloves with them after that.

If your goal is a short term win, yeah. For long term you're better off messaging to those who would actually be democrats, rather than appealing to those who buy into the newest snake oil and don't care who it hurts so long as it's not them.

To be fair go look at dsa leadership (and some of the politicians), they do Russia apologia and have said tons of unhinged stuff, and abdul campaigned with hasan, who even if you agree with him you're just giving Republicans and moderates a firehose of his greatest hits, like clips of him saying hamas is based and the real heroes, which might legitimately cost him a super important race.

Sadly this is all medicine, I lost so much faith in it as soon as it wasn't "extremely obvious problem with extremely obvious solution." For the brain, it's a much worse situation because we understand it so little. It turns into "throw random ideas at it and hope one works" and a lot of people are just lonely or needed lifestyle changes so it "works" for them :/

I personally know many trump voters and almost all are legitimately racist and do not care what happens to illegals, so long as it's not in their immediate circle. Go look at polls of Republicans, they care about people in their family and friends, past that they don't care. This person would not have cared even a little if it wasn't their family member, and most likely would've had nothing to say. The fact that they were lied to about "immigrants taking their jobs" doesn't make them caring so little about their fellow man any less reprehensible.
