King Charles has been accused of hypocrisy after 12 foxes were “shot and strung up like trophies” on Crown Estate land, we can reveal.
The grim discovery in countryside owned by the monarch, near Penicuik, Midlothian, sparked a police probe and comes as Charles claims to be at one with the natural world in a documentary out this week.
Campaigners have written to the King urging him to intervene after images obtained by the Sunday Mail showed the slaughtered animals, with some of the bloody carcasses draped over a fence near a publicly accessible path.

the working class simps do exist, but yes they're as weird as it sounds

The murdochs have a bone on against the royal family, and as a result the reactionary left supports them in all things in response, despite them being pieces of shit. Welcome to the 21st century.

This doesn't happen, you intentionally lying agitator. You voted for Jill Stein and therefore own what trump is doing right now. The only reason you would have voted that way was to hand the country to Nazis. You wanted this and should be considered the despicable troll that you are.
I see you spreading discord across the fediverse. It's disgusting what you're trying to do.

So your contention is that this class A troll is correct because Canadians know their symbolic monarch need not be targeted by protest messaging? Ah yes brilliant. That's totally "Democrats praising kings". Fucking brilliant.
Edit: fucking downvoting coward knows they haven't proven jackshit, they just support op's lie campaign.
Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 218d
Eh, downvotes don't matter here. Just smile to yourself knowing that that's the best they've got.

Jill Stein wanted to end weapons being sent to Ukraine so she supported Russia’s genocide of them.

Thank you for identifying yourself as a third party trump supporter. Appropriate tag will be added.
timewarp@lemmy.world · -7 pts · 218d
It absolutely does. They constantly praise politics in Canada or the UK (monarchies). Why lie to defend the establishment? I voted for an educated, anti-genocide, pro human rights candidate. I voted for the opposite of what is happening right now. What you're seeing with ICE is only a subset of what the genocide-supporting AIPAC recipients supported & defended. Why does it bother you so much for someone to be against genocide & to point out hypocrisy by the establishment, especially those who were fawning Dick Cheney? Just because you disagree with me doesn't make me an agitator, troll or someone here in bad faith. What you are doing is bad-jacketing. If you don't like authoritarianism, then stop acting like an authoritarian. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

You voted for a fraudulent, anti-democratic Russian asset who never speaks publicly until it comes time to help Republicans again, and you know that. It's why you voted for her.
timewarp@lemmy.world · -5 pts · 218d
Not true as shown by the Senate Intelligence Committee report. This same Russian asset claim was used against Bernie Sanders as well, and appears to originate from Hillary, who is now avoiding a subpoena regarding her & her sexually deviant husband's connections to Esptein. She still can't figure out why she lost, but it may have something to do with her using a private email server for official public communications. However, we all got to see how many Democrats are puppets of Israel. You can probably find some evidence of that:
https://electronicintifada.net/blogs/rania-khalek/leaked-emails-show-donors-drive-hillary-clintons-pro-israel-positions
But listen, it appears we got off on the wrong foot. I feel terrible that you're struggling right now. It appears you're having a really hard time adjusting to the predicted loss. I don't want to see you suffer like this. So here's what I'll do to make things right. Next election, even if Democrats clearly push another corporate genocidal puppet... I'll do you a solid. I'll do what is right! I'll vote for a third party candidate again.
TrickDacy@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 218d
I was wrong. The Russian asset that matters here is you.

A hypocritical monarch....... I'm shocked! Abolish the cunts and return the land and the wealth to the people!
Flax_vert@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 215d
Lol it's their private property. That won't work
davidagain@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 217d
OK, but the King has a shitload of land, this happened in Scotland over 350 miles from where he lives in London, and he probably had no idea. I suspect this is more about discrediting his pro-environment message that he's been banging on about since he was young, well before it was in the least bit popular any political sense. Murdock hates that kind of thing.
Flax_vert@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 215d
It's just pointless kingbashing.

hector@lemmy.today · -1 pts · 217d
How so?
CouldntCareBear@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 218d
I've not read the full story but there's nothing hypocritical about being pro conservation and wanting to manage a fox population.
Foxes will absolutely lay waste to any ground laying birds, and they have no natural predators so you can figure it where that ends up.
Senal@programming.dev · 9 pts · 218d
Is there a pro-conservation reason for stringing them up? genuine question.
Like some territory marking thing ?
That aside, fox hunting as a "sport" is traditionally a shitshow , not because of the foxes dying specifically , but because of the way it is conducted.
This doesn’t seem to be related to fox hunting (the "sport") though, perhaps the two are being conflated here, or there is some sort of link not disclosed ?
CouldntCareBear@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 218d
I guess they were coming back to pick them up again later?
And totally agree about fox hunting. Chasing an animal to exhaustion and ripping them apart with dogs is just savagery. Literally animal torture for fun.
Senal@programming.dev · 4 pts · 217d
That makes sense, didn't even think of that.
hector@lemmy.today · -3 pts · 217d
They are native there. Your argument lacks merit, let me be the first to downvote your despicable comment.
Godric@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 217d
Oh, we should just let the predator populations explode, ensuring they hunt prey populations to extinction before they all starve to death, solving the problem altogether. Big brain idea, we need visionaries like you in charge of wildlife!
hector@lemmy.today · 0 pts · 216d
Ah yes, predator control, coming from the groups that have long wanted to wipe every predator off the face of the land. From wolves to foxes, cormorants to birds of prey, (which royal properties habitually illegally poison by the way and use their influence to avoid investigation, as per a recent guardian investigation,) bears to mountain lions, tigers, lions, african painted dogs and dholes and dingos.
It is not surprising someone giving the benefit of the doubt to such people wanting to extirpate predators would have an annoying moving picture in their name on the thread too, it speaks to your character that you opted to annoy everyone you interact with as such.
hector@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 217d
What a piece of shit. Fuck this royal family, they were killing endangered raptors on their properties and using their privilege to get away with it per the guardian not long back too.
Flax_vert@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 215d
Weren't foxes not categorised as pests?

In Australia they are introduced vermin and are shot on sight. They kill native animals and cause a lot of lamb losses.
Worx@lemmynsfw.com · 29 pts · 218d
Penicuik is not in Australia, hope this helps 👍
Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz · 9 pts · 218d
Why do you put vermin on your money then?
GreatBlueHeron@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 218d
I took me too long to realise which vermin you are referring to.
Greyghoster@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 218d
What that about?
Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz · 6 pts · 218d
You say the vermin are shot on sight, then you have that same vermin on your coins.
Greyghoster@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 217d
I’ve seen flying foxes on coin but I’ve missed seeing foxes. Anyway they are still vermin like feral cats.
gid@piefed.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 217d
They meant the royals are the vermin 😏

tetris11@feddit.uk · -2 pts · 218d
theyre a problem here in London too. They do a lot of culling here, but there are still too many
danekrae@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 218d
People would apparently rather the foxes starve from overpopulation or that they kill vulnerable species.
They know a lot about nature, which is why they only have time to downvote a fact they don't like. They're just too busy being one with nature...
tetris11@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 218d
I remember growing up we used to get hedgehogs and even ducks walking across the street.
I'm willing to accept that if could just be loss of habitat due to more new buildings that caused the downtick in their numbers. But the rampant uptick in foxes cant be ignored.
They used to be shy, slender, solitary creatures that you'd get a small glimpse of in the dead of night.
Now, they're out brazenly in the open in packs of 2 or 3, jumping on the bins and staring you down if you walk past.
