I see a lot of AI generated stuff getting upvoted so here is my real dog, taken by me. It's not great.

I'm pretty sure it's just a light brown/tan blanket.

B0NK3RS@lazysoci.al · 6 pts · 140d

It is. It's all clean and everything there is just called "the dogs chair" anyway so doesn't get mixed up.

NikkiDimes@lemmy.world · 45 pts · 140d (2 replies)

Is that my dog?

Rekorse@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 140d (1 reply)

...do we all have the same blanket for real?

Fantastic doggo!

chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 140d

I also have that tortilla blanket. No dog atm though.

Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 27 pts · 141d

I downvote and block the poster of every piece of slop I detect. Your dog got my upvote and deserves all the rest of them too.

KC_Royalz@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 140d

Looks like my dog

I hate AI. I’ll take an amateur photo or drawing before something generated by a robot every time.

TheSealStartedIt@feddit.org · 12 pts · 140d (2 replies)

Is this a Burrito blanket? I got one too. Great taste, mister.

beneeney@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 140d

Yoo me too, I love my burrito blanket

Fmstrat@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 140d

I was so confused until I read this.

cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 141d

So instead we upvote the cute dog? You got me, I'll upvote a pupper every time, especially if it's what looks like a terrier mix. I had a dog with a face kinda like that, but greyer, leaning more toward Schnauzer. But, all dogs are the goodest boy (or girl) and this makes sense to dog people (though, I'm more of a cat person, though if I'm honest I'd take a red panda over either, but then again, who wouldn't?).

Pika@sh.itjust.works · 12 pts · 140d

"It's not great"

I don't know what you are talking about. That's about as dog as I've ever seen.

Cozy borkito

What alternative lemmy world are you living in? Lemmy is one of the most hostile to AI communities I know of

otter@lemmy.ca · 11 pts · 141d

They almost always get removed or deleted eventually, but sometimes they'll get upvoted for a few hours until an eagle eyed user spots evidence and calls it out.

It's also not OPs fault most of the time. It's hard to spot them

Iconoclast@feddit.uk · 10 pts · 141d

I see no GenAI content here whatsoever except for what's posted on communities specifically meant for it.

zikzak025@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 141d (1 reply)

In a general sense, absolutely, but there are still a good number of pro-AI communities around here that typically keep to their own bubbles. Anyone browsing by All will inevitably see them come up here and there.

I also see AI-gen content make it to the top of larger, more general communities like Lemmy Shitpost every now and then. Usually when it's harder to tell that it was generated by AI. When it gets called out, you'll typically see more upvotes than downvotes, but there will inevitably be some AI sympathist or two in the replies who won't hesitate to go off about how it's not a big deal/it's just a meme/there's nothing inherently wrong with AI/etc.

thedirtyknapkin@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 140d

In theory, if we're growing beyond Linux nerds and harcore communists, this should be one of the biggest and most general communities as well as one of the most likely to see slop get upvoted.

ai kittens and puppies make up like 30% of Facebook traffic on their own at this point. if we're worried about ai slop taking over THIS is the community to watch.

PunnyName@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 141d

Incorrect.

It's great!

Lexam@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 141d

OP claims to hate AI. OP posts what is clearly an AI picture of a Dog Burrito with a giant tortilla.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 140d

Lies.

This is great by definition.

yilian@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 140d

Doggie burrito!

Rekorse@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 140d

Oh shit is that the burrito blanket?! We have one of those too its fantastic! Cat-burritoes and dog-burritoes!

Sometimes we make a mountain out of it and bury the cat in the top like she's ruling a volcano-shaped-burrito!

CouldBeBetter@piefed.social · 5 pts · 141d

He certainly is great!

desiccated_event@piefed.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 141d

You're correct, it's not great. It's AWESOME!!!

cenariodantesco@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 141d

Regrettable_incident@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 140d

Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 140d

B'awe! I think it's great!

rangber@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 140d

What are you talking about? It's awesome!

billwashere@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 140d

Reminds me a little of my pup who passed last year.

This little guy is adorable. Hug him everyday. Cause one day you won’t be able to.

Gammelfisch@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 140d

My adopted Bouledogue Français says hello to everyone. She sleeps and rests like this too.

Baggie@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 140d

That's a good dog

Alberat@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 140d

i have that same blanket

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 140d

Aww, skritch his widdle head!

acockworkorange@mander.xyz · 1 pts · 135d

Is that a tortilla blanket?

ReCursing@feddit.uk · -8 pts · 140d (4 replies)

Fortunately we can have both pictures of your cute dog AND ai generated stuff!

lightnsfw@reddthat.com · 6 pts · 140d (3 replies)

But I don't want ai stuff.

ReCursing@feddit.uk · -1 pts · 137d (2 replies)

Well that's a you problem. Some of us are not opposed to technology and like to understand how it works before passing judgement rather than believing whatever bullshit lies get spread by reactionary youtubers

lightnsfw@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 137d (1 reply)

I know how it works. It works by stealing art from real artists and slopping it together into souless trash.

ReCursing@feddit.uk · -1 pts · 136d

No it doesn't. Not a single iota of fact is in your statement there
