I don't think I've ever loved anything as much as those delusional MAGA dorks love getting screwed over by Trump.

Crystalbound@lemmy.world · 95 pts · 108d (14 replies)

Must be so nice to go through life as stupid as them

DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world · 68 pts · 108d

Too bad they're dragging the rest of us down with them at the moment.

Blibly@lemmy.world · 47 pts · 108d (1 reply)

Idk they seem pretty fucking miserable all the time. Bunch of angry mouthbreathing dorks.

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 32 pts · 108d

I once saw a 50 year old woman who weighed about 500lbs, on a mobility scooter running her mouth at another woman in target.

The other woman just was minding her own business shopping. Then adult power wheels rolls up and starts barking at her to go back to her homeland.

The woman explained that she was a native american. To which jabba the slut replied "THEN GO BACK TO NATIVE LAND!!!"

Every fiber of my being was thinking how I should have walked over, turned the key off her hoverround, took the key, and walk away with it. What's she gonna do? Follow me?

Still wish I had.

boaratio@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 108d (7 replies)

I get yelled at by my wife and my therapist all the time for saying "I wish I was dumb, because then I'd be happy."

Cherry@piefed.social · 12 pts · 108d

The term is ‘ignorance is bliss’ is quite fitting. Ignorance is seen as a negative choice rather than a happy option.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 108d (2 replies)

Seems like something a therapist should understand?

boaratio@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 108d (1 reply)

Boy howdy, she does.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 107d

Then why yell at you

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 108d (1 reply)

Well yeah. Say stupid. Dumb means mute and it's rude.

victorz@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 108d

Surely though, in the days when people didn't have an explanation for muteness and "deaf and dumb" was said about people, they thought they really were dumb, rather than just mute? Or is that not the connection? I'm just guessing here.

eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 108d

Pssst, hey buddy, you can rent stupidity. It's called "beer", pass it on.

Almacca@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 108d
Rod_Orm@piefed.world · 9 pts · 108d

ignorance is bliss

Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 107d

I have a theory,

Stupidity is a separate dimension from privilege so naturally you would have a group of non stupid privileged people and also stupid privileged people.

This is just what stupid + privileged looks like.

See if you have stupid + unprivileged, you just get a natural balance via impactful consequences

Syndication@lemmy.today · 42 pts · 108d (2 replies)

They always talk about how "the left" are cucks, yet they love being cucked by Trump. Curious.

Quick, someone ask him how Gavin Newsom managed to raise gas prices here in Pennsylvania, too. And the rest of the country. I genuinely want to hear his reasoning, I think it would be entertaining.

InFerNo@lemmy.ml · 24 pts · 108d

Bytemeister@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 108d

My inlaws were complaining about 200+ dollar charges to fill up their trucks and vans with gas.

The same people were telling me that buying a used EV in January 2024 was a bad idea. My car costs about $9 dollars to fill up, and it does that from home.

And people, we haven't even hit a fuel shortage yet. Wait until gas is rationed or flat out not available at most stations, and then see what happens to the price. If you think that isn't going to happen, airlines are already cutting flights due to fuel shortages spiking the price.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 108d

PA currently has a Democratic governor, so he'll probably just blame Shapiro

potate@lemmy.ca · 77 pts · 108d (6 replies)

Even my EV F150 would be only about $60 from 0-100% at peak PG&E summer rates (4pm-8pm). And I just avoid those charging times, so it's more like $40.

eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 108d (2 replies)

Holy shit electricity is pricey

Botzo@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 108d (1 reply)

PG&E might be one of the worst in the US. Over 50 cents per KWH during peak summer prices. And my truck is 130KWH.

My solar array should pay for itself in under 10 years.

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 3 pts · 108d

That sounds disgusting.

I've got myself locked in to 11 cents per kWh at day and 9 cents at night/weekend, plus whatever the unavoidable grid fee is (less than 5 cents AFAIK).

Kinda sucks that I won't be able to take advantage of the lower prices in the summer (they can go negative, which to the consumer means 0), but the absolute worst I've seen in the winter time is the market limit of 5€/kWh, with mid-high double digit cents happening fairly often. And I use a heat pump in the winter whereas running it in AC mode in the summer is pretty optional in the summer.

At least once I get an EV, I'll always know ahead of time what it'll cost me to charge at home, even if I'll pay several times more in the summer than the folks on the variable plan.

Newsom didn't start The Stupidest War Ever. But, I suppose it's easy to convince stupid people that Newsome is to blame, somehow, even though gas prices are going up everywhere.

OwOarchist@pawb.social · 15 pts · 108d (2 replies)

Are those idiots real or it’s just satire?

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 44 pts · 108d (20 replies)

No, this is real.

Roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of this country is in a goofy as fuck, anti-reality, violent and dangerous death cult, called MAGA.

You know how like in Japan or SK, large wealthy cults have an outsized impact on politics, scandals when it turns out a PM or whoever got a bunch of money from one?

We elected our cult leader president.

Thats... thats roughly the framing you need, for this to maybe actually make sense in your brain, as anything other than the worlds grandest reality TV show.

Yougov recently did a poll.

https://yougov.com/en-us/articles/54707-how-many-americans-think-they-could-beat-donald-trump-in-a-fight

On average, 66% of Americans think they could win a fight, an actual fist fight, with Donald Trump.

10% thought they'd lose, 24% unsure.

Now break it down by party.

Democrats:

75% would win, 5% would lose, 20% unsure.

Republicans:

39% would win, 33% would lose, 28% unsure.

...

So thats's 25% of Dems don't think they're certain to win, vs 61% of Reps don't think they're certain to win...

... a fight against an obese and literally demented 79 year old with bone spurs, who wears diapers, and is often seen nodding off during meetings.

You really can only explain something like this by framing the hardcore MAGA folks as delusional, mentally impaired cult members.

They have Trump Derangement Syndrome, but its the opposite of what they think it is... its North Korea levels of Dear Leader god-king worship.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 108d (2 replies)

For the purposes of the question, it'd be without any sort of help from outside sources. You and anyone else who reads this would probably have no problem beating him.

I used to live down the street from this girl in a motorized scooter thing. Her back was fucked. She loved the nerdiest, weirdest audiobooks. I'd help her pirate them, cause she was on disability and broke AF.

Idk why, but when you say anyone, I think of her just going to town on him with that scooter. This poor, disabled black chick just grinding him into the pavement. We could sell tickets!

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 107d

I hear you, and my answer is the same strategy that is currently defeating Trump in Iran:

Rope a Dope.

Conserve your energy, maintain your stamina, conceal your strength, keep him moving.

Only take a chance at a strike you know will hit, then flutter away.

Couple rounds of that, he's having a heart attack, you win.

He notoriously has horrendous posture.

That means his core will tire out rapidly if you keep him him on his toes.

InvalidName2@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 108d (1 reply)

Yes, plenty of people with this kind of mentality exist in the USA.

I don't know if this particular person is satire or not, and I'm not going to spend any time hunting down their profile to verify.

The fact that they aren't blaming Biden in both of these posts makes me think it's satire, though. Because the very limited exposure I still have in real life to people of this general political persuasion suggests that they're all about blaming Biden for the current spike in gas and grocery prices. I've heard several different variations of why them blame Biden for current gas prices, but it mostly boils down to a nebulous, tangential line of reasoning that Biden didn't start a war with Iran during his term.

As though dealing with the consequences of Trump's disastrous handling of COVID and the economy wasn't enough, they apparently think Biden should have also been bombing Iran "back to the stone age."

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 108d

I don't know if this particular person is satire or not

It is not.

This person is cognitive dissonance personified, they're not capable of mental consistency, they are a delusional cult member, their brain works in such a way that it pretzels to find any possible reason to justify and glorify the cult leader.

If you haven't personally lost friends and family members to the MAGA cult, please trust me, I am being completely serious.
