... "because we've somehow managed to fuck up our health system even more, and our doctors most capable of treating Ebola have left the US to other countries where they are supported in their efforts to save lives while we sit around, tanning our taints and eating roadkill dick"
FTFY, lil' Marco.

But fuck that European socialism!

'If more Americans contract Ebola and need advanced medical care, they will be sent to Europe rather than brought to the U.S.'
Who would have thought that grind up racoon dick and prayer, is not as advanced as the US health system pretends to be.

Why should Europe take them? The States has been an ar$e to Europe and esp Ukraine for a whilst.
The Eu should tell them no.
INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone · 24 pts · 67d
Do we want to deal with watching the US having an Ebola outbreak under this administration?
Have a good think about what that will look like, I could imagine a world where it is unfairly in everyone's best interest?
Cherry@piefed.social · 6 pts · 67d
Ukraine is being treated unfairly and the USA don’t seem to care about that…why should other countries keep giving and giving to an administration that lies, causes grief, and tells everyone else to go jump. It’s called give and take. Everyone else in the world is already suffering high prices due to Iran and they consider that acceptable….i could continue.
I would like to be nicer about it but my patience is thin for abusers. And they will only turn round and bite you afterwards...likely wont even say thanks.

Infectious disease spreading and evolving is bad for all of us regardless of the country.
INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 66d
Imagine for a moment they are quarantined in Europe and there is no break out. Virus contained.
Now try to imagine that in the US. See you can't!
I am kidding, somewhat.
Wataba@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 66d
Here's hoping it kills off enough of the brainrotted stupid part of the population.
Then again, thats the part that probably has superimmunity from wallowing in their own feces on a daily basis.

It's the government that is bad. It's people did nothing wrong.
Arkthos@pawb.social · 22 pts · 67d
Well yeah, the people voted for the government.
magic_smoke@lemmy.blahaj.zone · -11 pts · 67d
No I fucking didn't, nor did anyone I care about.
Like fuck I did NOT ask to get locked in with these fucking dipshits.
Arkthos@pawb.social · 11 pts · 67d
Americans at large either did, or did not care enough to vote at all. Of course there are plenty of exceptions, like you, but the American people at large are certainly responsible for Trump.
You have my sympathy for being locked in with those people.
slaacaa@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 67d
You think the bombed Iranian schoolgirls give a shit? It’s your country and your president. If you don’t like the way the nation is run, then change it.
How? Not my problem, don’t care, as it’s not my country.

And in time we'll see you the same way we see the Germans who voted against the Nazis but did jack all once said Nazis were in power.

Congrats, but your country, collectively, which you're a part of, did. The continued "not my fault" attitude underscores the individualistic nature of Americans at large and should be a mirror for how things got so bad to begin with. Do better.

Fucking you know what?
Fuck you. Like seriously, eat shit you arrogant fuck.
My supplier of pre-made homebrew estradoil just went down permanantly. I would not still be alive if I did not get on this medication. I am lucky to had the resources to obtain it.
I'm even luckier I've had the resource, plans, and knowledge to have already started working on brewing myself, sourcing my own raws and supplies.
Your opinion will matter to me when you're compounding your own life saving meds out of lab peptides imported from China. No purity testing. Hell no blood testing, all because you're scared shitless of eventually ending up in what will essentially be a rape camp. Maybe dying in a firefight while they try to drag you there if you're lucky.
Knowing not everyone has that access. Knowing some of us are already there. (Even before ICE's concentration/death camps where built)
Listening to people express sympathies but never willing to risk anything for it, even if backed by group action.
We make up around 1% of the population, our ability to live is dependent on the rest of everyone else deciding not to kill us. That's the collective I see myself a part of...
It must be nice to be comfortable and not be blamed for your own oppression.

Democracy, though
tal@lemmy.today · 57 pts · 67d
If they want to enter the US and if they hold citizenship, I think that that may violate case law that a US citizen may not be denied entry to the US.

Some random law firm, but:
https://www.rnlawgroup.com/the-rights-of-a-u-s-citizen-upon-reentry-into-the-country/
The federal government can hold US citizens in quarantine upon reentry, in the US. There's certainly precedent there. But I don't think that it can constitutionally say "you may not enter the US" to a citizen.

Psh. A LAW? You need a functioning court system to worry about a law.

Great way to get American citizens exposed to Ebola travelling to the US to not inform anybody about it.
atzanteol@sh.itjust.works · 21 pts · 67d
That seems... Plausible. But after the state department told Americans abroad in the middle East to "fend for yourself" when Trump started a war it's questionable.
Trump doesn't get benefit of the doubt.
Tarambor@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 67d
Funny how they can work that out when it comes to their citizens who are ill needing fast treatment but POTUS and Hegseth are too stupid to work out that's the same reason they have Ramstein in Germany as part of their NATO deployment.
NoosFraba@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 67d
In what world is intercontinental flight faster than in-house? Even if you start in Atlanta right beside the CDC itself you've got to fly roughly the length of usa to reach the coast of Europe lol
Reyali@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 67d
I think the premise is that Ebola cases are currently only in Africa, so if a US citizen catches it, that means they’re already across the Atlantic Ocean and, yes, Europe would be closer.
