Speaking as someone who loves disc golf for similar reasons I think it's two things
It's a place where you can constantly improve at, and see that you're improving at it, while also being impossible to master. So career driven people who get something from improving there craft and getting a promotion will probably get a similar feeling from improving there golf score.
It's mostly just walking and talking, so you can do your networking and dealing in a place much more pleasant then a board room.

1 - it's usually in parks (that are being maintained, but probably not watered...at least around here, I don't think any of our parks have an irrigation system...they are all just climate-appropriate land-/hard-scaping), or literally "in the woods"...the courses I've been on have been through nature trails, or sections of woods that were cleaned up (mostly of underbrush, saplings, and low branches).
2 - It's more fun to walk around and play stoned. In fact, I think that you have to be stoned to play in an actual league game. It's practically written into bylaws.
3 - Less professional socializing/networking. Mostly because everything about it is the antithesis of office culture.

If you’re listing adjectives that modify a single noun, there is no ambiguous regrouping of those adjectives that can change their meaning. They all still modify the noun. If you are listing nouns, as in the popular “strippers, JFK, and Stalin” meme, then there is room for confusion and the comma helps to clarify.
Regardless, if the intent is clear, it’s a silly rule to get nitpicky about. Fuck the haters.

I'm a straight, white and middle aged person and its crazy how many other people of the same demographic just assume we share their bigoted fucking views. Perfect strangers dont even feel you out before talking about whichever "them" they are bothered about. Its shockingly common.

Sitting down with 99% of my colleagues during lunch. "Playing the links", fantasy football, ai-generated memes, or how much wealth they have. Christ read a book or something for Christ's sake.
My extended family. It's either (slightly) conservative older uncles and aunts or its my beautiful, successful, married with children, living in their own houses cousins.
I love them all (and there are many of them). They are good people. But I feel disconnected from their lives. Not only am I one of only two who have moved far, far away from home, but I am also the family black sheep, a little envious and I just don't share in the highs and lows they all share with one another simply by them all being married and parents and their lives completely orbiting around that.
It's odd I can't stand being around people at work talking about perfectly mundane things that should be relatable.
But when I'm with my friends i'll listen to them talk about their weird niche hyperfixations, I could listen to them for hours and not once find it unrelatable.

I always thought I was bad at making small talk but then I realized I just hated doing it. When I'm forced to be around my wife's moronic family talking about the most mundane shit it feels like I'm in a bad tv show and I'm just dying to get away. I don't know how I've survived as long as I have
I always felt so bad for my husband at my family events. My family is very traditional and conservative, so every event is de facto segregated by gender. The women are all in the kitchen, and the men are all in the living room or on the front porch (depending on the weather).
Acceptable topics of conversation among the men: livestock, farm equipment, and neighbors whose land is adjacent to my grandfather's farm. My husband is a suburban guy who had been on a horse before he met me.
We were both glad when my cousins' kids got old enough that he could play games with them. (And video games when they hit their teens.) He got bonus points with my mom and aunts for "taking care of the kids" even though he was just trying to escape the boredom of talking to the adults.
Move away and be a hermit, its how I have survived. I love people in very small doses. And like you family is the worst and you can never get small doses around them.
I dont care about the weather or the sports scores. I like sports but not to talk about. Watch it or read the box scores and I'm good.
I'd rather be under my classic getting greasy or some other project. After that reading a good book, I'm on a stoic kick again so rereading Marcus Aurelius and all other similar materials.
This is exactly why I stopped eating lunch in the staff lunch room. Those people are boring AF and can't find much to talk about other than work or the gym. I'd rather eat at my desk and read a book.
