It literally gets me every time. I've seen this meme atleast 5 times now and not once have I not fallen for it

Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 23 pts · 334d (6 replies)

I'm pretty sure I've even posted it here in the past lmao

I recently fucked up my file system so some communities are liable to get some reposts over the next couple months. I can't afford a new SSD and I've had to start ruining things ;_;

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 333d (5 replies)

What SSD do you like?

Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 333d (4 replies)

One that works. I think my PC is capable of another SSD, recently saw a slot that looks suspiciously like one when I was cleaning it. I don't know computers. I just have a 2TB HDD plugged into my PC that's dying from age (Got it in 2019... and has survived some insane abuse) as well as being full. Another 1TB SSD external but I use that for video games because I've only got 500GB internally.

I don't know computers I just know memes

Denvil@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 333d (3 replies)

There's 2 types of SSDs that you should be concerned with, SATA and M.2 NVME. Sata are usually black connectors in usually the bottom right of a motherboard, same type of connector a hard drive would use. You can get SATA SSDs for fairly cheap, I've got 2 2tb ones in my computer, but they'll be much slower than an M.2. Still much faster than a hard drive though. M.2 NVME is what I assume the 500 GB SSD is?, usually located around the graphics card slot, there should be a line of screw holes for different sizes, and a connector at the end that you slide the m.2 into.

If you ever need help, there are plenty of references online if you search how to install a M.2 SSD or a SATA SSD, and once it's installed, tutorials on how to format it do you can use it.

Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 333d (2 replies)

It's an M.2 NVME, that much I do know. Well I know it's NVME, I think there's different types of those? There's a sexy guy on youtube who I see shorts of who talks about them. I don't remember anything he says I just want to lick his arms. But when I was cleaning it was with my roommate at the time. I think it was me that pointed out the SSD and questioning what the fuck it was because I thought it was a ram stick at first but it made no sense for the place it was in. That and I installed the RAM because the pre-built PC didn't have nearly enough. Nitro-N50 or some shit. But she said it was the SSD and that's what made me go "Fucking WHAT?!" there also happened to be another slot on the motherboard that looked almost identical, thus why I said I think it can take another one. Had the same type of connector (although I couldn't see the pins of the SSD) and even had a screw in the right place.

My issue though is cost. I just can't afford it. I can't afford most things at the moment right now though so it's whatever. I just keep backing up as much as I can and slowly crying and cannibalizing it. It's not that big a deal lol I'm mostly deleting shows that I haven't seen in a while. I'm just a data hoarder so it hurts.

crushyerbones@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 333d (1 reply)

This just in: big fonts and small amounts of text surrounded by dead space attract attention.

Nah, it's the ADHD.

Time to undiagnose.

I know you're making a joke, but just for anyone else reading: not all symptoms occur at all times all the time.

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 333d

Me too, but I’m crediting that to my adderall this morning

Galapagon@sh.itjust.works · 19 pts · 334d (1 reply)

Not only did I read one line in the middle, before jumping to the end - I completely ignored the existence of the top graph

VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 333d

I read the three titles, then the green description, read four or five random lines in the middle to satisfy my curiosity (make sure it was real things not random text). Closed the pic, got intrigued and re-opened it, and realized then that the first title was a section/graph and finally made sense of it. I did not read all the middle tho ! Should I get a diagnosis ?

To be fair, that green circle is really big

somewa@suppo.fi · 9 pts · 334d (2 replies)

And the text in the middle isn't only small but there's so much compression artifacts that it's hard to read.

zurohki@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 334d (1 reply)

Can we get some more JPEG? I can almost tell what some of the colours are.

southernbrewer@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 333d (5 replies)

I was distracted by the legend colours not matching the pie colours and the green pie not being round enough. Didn't read the text obviously

otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 333d

I assume that the odd shape and color choice are intentional, as well.

_stranger_@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 332d

The first thing I saw was that the green dot is fuzzy instead of being outlined in black Then I noticed that the pie was an oval.

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 333d (2 replies)

You checked with a color dropper or what? :p

southernbrewer@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d (1 reply)

That blue pie slice is definitely not represented in the legend

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 333d

The colors sure look a bit weird (like colorcrushed due to a low resolution).
Cant really say anything to that

laranis@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 333d

I've never felt more seen and attacked at the same time.

dharmacurious@slrpnk.net · 9 pts · 334d

Jokes on you, I'm medicated!

SirSamuel@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 333d (9 replies)

This is actually the meme that convinced me to get diagnostic testing. Hoping to get medication for ADHD soon, but the antidepressants are nice (except they make me poop. Like, a lot)

I thought everyone had twelve abandoned hobbies and functioned on the very edge of disaster at all times. No i don't have trouble focusing on the task at hand, I can play RimWorld for hours at a time

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 333d (4 replies)

Is that what making me poop all the time?

My psychiatrist warned me about stimulants also stimulating my bowels...but not the antidepressants. She warned me that would kill my sex drive, but that's about it.

SirSamuel@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d

So (TW: TMI), I have had very loose stool since starting SSRI's. And when I have to go, I have to go! (One day I sneezed and did what my mother very patiently taught me not to do 43 years earlier.) I also get hot flashes at the same time every day (I'm biologically male), and have started needing to nap in the mid afternoon in order to function the rest of the day. On the plus side I no longer deal with feelings of ennui or that life is pointless, and my stress levels aren't quite as high, which is nice

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d (2 replies)

No the poop issue is you keep picking at it too much. Or not enough. I'm a shitposter, not a doctor.

Hupf@feddit.org · 4 pts · 333d (1 reply)

An expert in all things poop, in other words.

You should see my Warhammer collection of half painted minis, and my starwars armada collection.

While I show you that we can look at all my boardgames i haven't opened along with my lego collection

Oohh my swords for Hema too and my video games.

I have a giant list of started video games that I've never finished.

I've got a pushbike too and my boxing bag from kick boxing and it goes on and on

SirSamuel@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d (2 replies)

I bet you also own but haven't played Star Wars: Imperial Assault, the ttrpg. I opened the box, started reading the rules, and suddenly I was playing poker in RDR2

Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 333d (1 reply)

I certainly do, I couldn't ever find people to play with in my tiny town, same problem with Armada. I must own 1000 aud worth of armada figurines and a custom play mat i made myself but no one to play with haha

SirSamuel@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d

I feel your pain. It took me over 5 years to find the correct mix of DnD players from my circle of friends. Adults who could maintain a consistent weekly gaming schedule and not be That Guy™. In our current campaign one friend wound up being a wangrod, but another invited one of his friends that is somehow more of a nerd than I am. So it balanced out. This took a long time and several false starts over the years. One of my players has to remote in on Zoom, which sucks, but we make it work. The point is, keep trying. If you can maintain interest that is lol

whoisearth@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 333d

Inattentive is such a PITA. I've had a very, VERY successful career and can't help but think it's been all while doing life on hard mode.
