I don't think the person you're responding to is trying to suggest otherwise. You can be curious about the context even while accepting that no possible context makes this okay.
I too am curious about what, exactly, set this officer off to escalate to such completely deranged behaviour. Not because I think there's a justification, just because I want to know exactly what kind of lunacy this is.

Probably just racism. The cop "knew" the pedestrian was a dangerous criminal, he just didn't have any probable cause. So he had to take matters into his own hands.

Definitely not offended by the downvotes, I appreciate your conclusion.
I have trouble allowing myself to show anger, because it usually doesn’t help at all and I learned it can hurt a lot at a young age.
That said, I don’t think “show the other cheek,” when slapped by cruelty is the answer either. I was just trying to fish for an answer if anyone’s got one. We’ve got methods to enact change here, but it’s been a losing battle against cruelty and greed that’s been lost for all of history.
It’s definitely gotten better. I just wish we could focus the anger into the inlets that would do something here in America. Hold those in power accountable with more than their own corruptible conscious, end corporate campaign funding, have more meaningful conversations where we honestly try to find solutions to problems with transparency.
I’ll keep trying.

Edit: also how the FUCK did they not include the video?! It's literally a dudes video recording posted to social media and I don't care if they have to take 20 minutes to censor it a little so little Timmy doesn't hear a naughty word in the footage of a cop attempting vehicular murder, they should have already gotten permission to include the video on the article or at least included a link to it. They included a single still so it's not like they haven't seen it!

This is why you NEVER invite the police to your home unless it is an absolute necessity. Once a cop shows up, the chances of you or some other innocent person ending up dead increases enormously. Even if they don't murder someone, it is unlikely they will even resolve the issue you called about. 50% of the time they'll get mad at the caller for disturbing them.
I don't like to be anywhere near cops. If I'm in 7/11, and a cop walks in, I leave immediately.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the police should behave this way. If their duty is to law and order then this behavior is the antithesis of that, unlawful and creates disorder. Look at all of the drivers not knowing what to do, probably scared shitless that a cop is going to hit them and they'll somehow be found at fault. Do you think the owner of the house he crashed into is going to see a dime? Maybe if they sue the city, but probably not. Can't sue the officer thanks to his immunity from the consequences of his own actions. Ugh I set out to write something tongue in cheek but this shit is honestly just too infuriating.

That dipshit cop is on trouble with his bosses, and all of his colleagues are going to seriously torture him. Good chance he gets fired. You can't rampage through a busy city neighborhood trying to deliberately run down a citizen. I highly doubt we'll be seeing a police captain on TV saying that he followed his extensive training and department policy perfectly.
