YouTube supremacy?

dracc@discuss.tchncs.de · 43 pts · 266d (10 replies)

In case you're serious; "white".

JustARegularNerd@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 72 pts · 266d

I didn't understand that either, so I'd say the parent commentor was serious

14th_cylon@lemmy.zip · 39 pts · 266d (2 replies)

why is it spelled like that?

passenger@sopuli.xyz · 24 pts · 266d (1 reply)

I guess to avoid algorithms hiding the post?

14th_cylon@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 266d

oh. makes sense

Gladaed@feddit.org · 24 pts · 266d (4 replies)

Ok. Nobody abbreviates like that. Why so condescending.

Also what happened in 2017 that was exceptional? I feel like white supremacists have been on a steady roll.

anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 266d

2017, Charlottesville tikitorch parade and one of the Nazis killed a counter protester with his car.

Trump said the white power guys were good people.

Imhotep@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 266d

Some black people do use it.
Some say it's derogatory, other say it isn't. I have never seen it used in a positive way.

dracc@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 259d (1 reply)

It was not my intention to be condescending. ESL, not sure if I was missing some layer of a joke. Also, mansplaining and all that jazz...

Gladaed@feddit.org · 2 pts · 259d

"In case you are serious" implies you expect the other to ask disingenuously. Ie. If it was a genuine question they should have known.

And009@lemmynsfw.com · 2 pts · 266d

I've always wondered what YouTube had done

moistclump@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 266d

Young Thug supremacy.

myster0n@feddit.nl · 94 pts · 266d (5 replies)

You forgot "Grab 'em by the pussy"

grue@lemmy.world · 43 pts · 266d (3 replies)

And violating the Emoluments Clause.

Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 266d (2 replies)

The rest of the list are not slam dunk charges against being president, but violation of emoluments is. I don't understand how Trump is still in power.

tinyvoltron@discuss.online · 3 pts · 266d (1 reply)

Doesn't matter which ones are illegal or indictable. It's about decency. Most of these just prove he is a horrible human being that shouldn't be able to win any election anywhere.

His political career should have been over about 10 minutes after it started. Just proves how many Americans are horrible human beings. And I say that as an American. We've lost our way.

Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 265d

I agree, but I'm making the exact opposite point. No matter who is in the office of the president, it should be obvious when to apply the emoluments clause and remove them.

Rothe@piefed.social · 12 pts · 266d

Which was the earliest one of them all. It was before the election in 2016. When his supporters doubled down on it, and some of his female cultists began wearing "Trump can grab me by the pussy" t-shirts, then that was when I started realising that this was something quite different which didn't work by the normal rules.

ininewcrow@lemmy.ca · 62 pts · 266d (2 replies)

At this point, I'm not blaming this orange blob completely.

Part of the blame is the American people who just accept all this as normal.

18107@aussie.zone · 38 pts · 266d

Most of the blame should be on the heritage foundation who is coordinating all of this.

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 266d

Not for nothing, but as abnormal as this is, it's all working within the system. Or, at least, the system is complicit.

cannedtuna@lemmy.world · 41 pts · 266d

Shit before 2016 it should have been over. The writing was on the wall even then and people thought we were being melodramatic or reactionary.

MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca · 33 pts · 266d

The list is much much longer than this.

You have to go even further back to 1980 when Chump, as a landlord in NYC, evicted a 74 year old widowed stroke victim by sending tough guys to her apartment. They came in and took her stuff and kicked her out. He's heartless.

jeez. that's a lot of ai slop just to say "you were right".

and to make things clear, i am absolutely not defending orange cheeto, i am saying it is useful to focus on a stuff that is clearly proven. because once you start including "maybe" accusations into your list, it is easy to discredit your criticism.

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 20 pts · 266d (1 reply)

Never forgive Republican voters. There are no good ones, they aren't friends, they aren't family. I'd say they were dead to me if they weren't already something worse than dead. They're fascists.

TheOneCurly@feddit.online · 8 pts · 266d

Yeah there was some dude on npr the other day talking about how he finally "left maga" and he regrets stuff now. But like you were a full adult and loving this shit. I'm sure he's fed up with trump specifically but I also think he'll get right on board with the next big bully asshole because that's actually who he is.

Doomsider@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 266d

What is so bizarre is you could make a list ten times as long and still only be scratching the surface.

But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 266d (1 reply)

The quiet piggy one was awful, especially after I saw the wide shot at how close his finger was to her face.

Being such a spectacularly unsuccessful businessesman that he made a casino go bankrupt (seriously that is some impressive levels of incompetence)

Alaknar@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 266d

You mean four casinos?

RogerMeMore@reddthat.com · 3 pts · 266d

He fails upwards.

CheeseNoodle@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 266d

Thats gotta be some organized crime thing, I mean the essence of a casino is convincing a bunch of people to gamble in a way where its possible that none of them win in which case you get all the money.

All of his pure idiocy too. Acting like drawing sharpie lines on a map for the path of a hurricane will convince anyone not to see what their eyes show them. Covfefe announcements. Press conferences at the Four Seasons Landscaping while their makeup drips down their faces.

Anyone else old enough to remember when misspelling potato or using a word tone of voice at a really was enough to end a politician's career? What a different universe.

Americans when asked to choose between a woman and trump:

"Holy fucking shit guys, this is an impossible choice between two evils"

DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 266d

Americans chose a woman in 2016, the archaic election system said no.

But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 266d (1 reply)

It’s crazy that even in 2025 im still seeing the “both sides are the same” and “voting for democrats is worse than voting trump” type posts on Lemmy. Americans are dumb

Epstein files. Demolition of a White House's section.

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 266d (1 reply)

The White House is the one part I don't give any shits about. It's just a building that symbolizes an evil empire anyways. Means absolutely nothing compared to the lives destroyed.

Y'all are aware that when the smoke blows over, the human slave labour camps are going to be the thing future laymen will scratch their head about and think "how wasn't this the primary concern" and not understand that they are probably similarly subjects of misdirection campaign via media technology and corruption

Credibly_Human@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 265d

At this rate, future historians might have to be very far into the future, and have to rely on very scare evidence of past crimes.

Everything with every Trump-branded company/product. All failures. Though probably most impressive was "Trump University". I honestly don't know if he has more of bankruptcy or felonies. Thinking felonies. But regardless, he's got more of both than like anyone.

Any one of those would have been the absolute end of a political career for anyone else, but his cult doesn't care. They celebrate it every time he makes the people they don't like angry. His MAGAts would celebrate him for shooting someone in the street if the victim had rainbow hair and stated pronouns.

What is interesting is what we're doing (or not doing) to make sure its over the next time these things happen.

We could push for stronger checks on the executive. Are we?
