Someone has to say it…

It’s what plants crave!

Oka@sopuli.xyz · 50 pts · 44d (1 reply)

It's got electrolytes

NM_Gringo@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 44d (1 reply)

I talked to the plants and they just want water.

fartographer@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 44d

Like, from the toilet?

Bahnd@lemmy.world · 49 pts · 44d (11 replies)

I hope that those pants are rated for chemicals, they have been dumping shit in that water for days to clear up the bloom.

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 33 pts · 44d (1 reply)

That dude in the front is wearing camo overalls. Is he trying to sneak up on the algae? Is he an assassin?

Dude behind him is wearing dayglow. They are giving mixed signals.

Introvert vs extrovert

Jessicat@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 44d (6 replies)

Bahahaha you’re cute.

osanna@lemmy.vg · 13 pts · 44d (5 replies)

Haha yeah. Those people(probably) aren’t rich so they don’t matter

Jessicat@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 44d (2 replies)

Plebe safety is not highly ranked in the list of priorities. No one is doing that job unless they need to. I hope they at least get health insurance…

osanna@lemmy.vg · 5 pts · 44d (1 reply)

Haha funny joke. Oh, you were being serious?

Jessicat@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 44d

I was being hopeful :). I don’t know if they’re federal park employees maintaining the memorial or how that works. In any case I try to normalize it where I can.

frank@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 44d (1 reply)

And they don't know this in the photo but they're probably not getting their promised pay for doing this

osanna@lemmy.vg · 7 pts · 44d

Pretty much. Meanwhile their bosses get a million dollar payout for a job well done.

Einskjaldi@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 44d

Hydrogen peroxide very rapidly decomposed to just water

rayyy@piefed.social · 2 pts · 44d

We certainly know that the pool paint isn't rated for those chemicals.

slampisko@lemmy.world · 35 pts · 44d (12 replies)

European here, what is this Brawndo?

EDIT: Briefly forgot I could google it.

It's a fictional energy drink from the movie Idiocracy (which has long been on my to-watch list)

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 44d

It's what plants crave!

thebestaquaman@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 44d (2 replies)

I had idiocracy on my list for a while. After watching it, I can confirm that it's easily one of the best movies ever made.

BigBananaDealer@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 43d (1 reply)

Sponsered by Carl's Jr.

nonentity@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 43d

Welcome to Costco, I love you.

Stupidmanager@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 44d (2 replies)

Idiocracy is more like real Life tv now versus a movie.

M0oP0o@mander.xyz · 1 pts · 43d (1 reply)

Ha you wish, we don't have the luck to live in a nice a place.

osanna@lemmy.vg · 2 pts · 42d

Go away. Batin’

filcuk@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 43d (3 replies)

When that came out, it was a way over the top silly movie.
Watching that now may prove to be a very different experience.

III@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 43d (1 reply)

I would kill for a dystopian future where, although stupid, the people aren't filled with hatred. Seems like we are headed for the hate-filled idiot future...

M0oP0o@mander.xyz · 1 pts · 43d

Also the society wide sexual confidence behind the use of the term "Bait'n" in public.

Soggy@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 43d

Everyone wears Crocs because the costume designer thought they were the stupidest thing they'd ever seen.

SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 43d

You should try it, it has electrolytes.

Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world · 31 pts · 44d

Shut up with yer stupid words and put some more Ow, My Balls!" back on!

perishthethought@piefed.social · 28 pts · 45d (5 replies)

Please tell me they're not trying to scoop all the algae out of there.

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 13 pts · 44d (1 reply)

If you shock it, that kills the algae, right?

Then where does it go? There's physical remnants left behind. That doesn't just disappear.

Just like you have to skim a regular pool, I'm sure you want to keep solid waste out of the reflecting pool to keep from overwhelming a filtration system that's simply not built for the load.

OrteilGenou@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 44d

Just grab em by the algae, what's taking so long?

fizzle@quokk.au · 8 pts · 44d (2 replies)

I assumed it was a generated image.

At the very least, the water is too green.

If it happens to be legit, no they're not scooping algae because they don't have anything to scoop it into.

That said, during algal blooms in estuaries et cetera physically removing it is part of the process. If a healthy estuary is free of whatever variety of algae, but it gets infested somehow for example due to fertiliser run off from farms, then stopping the fertiliser may not be enough to solve the problem because the estuary is clogged up with algae.

towerful@programming.dev · 1 pts · 44d

I think they are scooping out the dead algae so it isn't food or doesn't clog pumps/filters

PlaidBaron@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 44d

It looks too blown out for a professional photograph. Looks like AI slop to me.

AlboTheGuy@feddit.nl · 21 pts · 44d

It's got electrolytes! It's what plants crave!

Danarchy@lemmy.nz · 19 pts · 44d

Careful not to meme too much about this they might send a horsey cop to arrest you and give you a ticket

SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 44d

America needs electrolytes!

bagsy@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 45d

Fuck, that's a top notch joke!! Hats off to you!.

BCsven@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 45d

Lol

Formfiller@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 43d

The dead baby ducks are super sad

Folstar@lemmus.org · 5 pts · 43d

Are these the vandals they're arresting for pouring in corrosive chemicals, walking in the pool, and scraping off the poorly done, poorly conceived paint job?

IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 44d

Soylent Green is people!

Cellari@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 44d

You know it's fresh when it's green

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 44d

This actually looks delicious. Would totally drink.

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 43d

People generations from now are going to feel the embarrassment. That's how potent it is.

angband@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 43d (3 replies)

I thought brawndo was a mad-magazine-esque pun for kids based off a popular detergent logo from the early 80's. Never saw idiocracy.

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 43d

Never saw idiocracy.

You don't need to anymore.

Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 43d

You're living it mate.

neuroneiro@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 43d

You have not yet lived until you’ve experienced the critically & audience adored future classic Masterpiece that will be… Ow! My balls!

However, should you engage, be prepared to get your ‘batin’ interrupted during highlights.
