He’s just going all-in on the shit-takes. Probably, just desperate for people to talk about him again.

He’s just a man who doesn’t know how to sell a contradiction.

He should just go, he should just go away.
Notyou@sopuli.xyz · 20 pts · 31d
He should have did what T Swift did. Record a cover version of your album/song and tell your fans to just listen to that version.
You can shit talk her all you want but that was a smart move.

She stole that from Prince.

Well, I dunno about this one. Ownership of master recordings and royalty agreements are a serious issue in the music industry. Bands and musicians having to make a new recording of their own songs as a way to get royalties (as in any at all) for streaming isn't unheard of. And it's something that goes back longer than streaming.
https://americansongwriter.com/4-earlier-artists-who-pulled-a-taylor-swift-and-re-recorded-their-music/
So what he's saying here (my take on what you quoted) is he's using AI to modify his own new recording of his own song to more closely resemble the recording that some other entity has control over. Honestly I don't mind that.

Depends largely on the training data. If it's completely trained on music he owns the copyright to, more power to him.

Which attacks did they minimize, Jimbo?
Are you sure you want to go "death count for death count" between Israel and Palestine? You really want to go there?
For one, we would be here all day. But two, it would become almost immediately obvious that one is larger than the other by several orders of magnitude.
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · 87 pts · 31d
He said, after shoving his uninformed opinion on Israel and it's ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people down everyone's throat...
Like, it doesn't seem that he actually supports what's happening, it's more like he has no fucking idea what is happening.
He doesn't even understand that Israel doesn't control the Jewish people.
Saying Israel is committing a genocide only betrays your friends who support the genocide, it has fuck all to do with religion.
Palestine's issues aren't that the people living in Israel are Jewish, it's that the people living in Israel don't see Palestinians as humans. They could be Christians, Muslims, or Atheists and the Palestinians would still be upset they're victims of decades long genocide.
That's pretty much everyone's response to genocide, it doesn't matter why your people are a target, you just don't want to be genocided.
SailorFuzz@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 31d
It's okay to not be informed. Totally fine, if you don't know about it, maybe just don't take a definitive position on it? That's a rational thing to do. Even more rational would be like "I don't know enough about this, so, I need to educate myself". Totally understandable....
What's pretty fucking stupid, no matter what the subject, is to go "I don't know wtf is going on.. but here's my opinion endorsing one side of it".
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 31d
The crux of the issue is in his head:
Same thing with Biden.
Israel spent literal generations conflating the two and making people think they were the same. It shouldn't be surprising when elderly people act like they're the same.
What's important is making sure people that still have fully functional brains understand it's bullshit. And use it as an example for how propaganda can effect people so we don't fall for the same thing under a different topic.
phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 30d
Same thing with everyone who repeats the Likud line.
Buffalox@lemmy.world · -4 pts · 31d
Yes but it's not OK to have strong opinions on genocide while being uninformed about it.
Edit:
OK, I see you got there eventually.
FrostyTheDoo@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 31d
If he believes that the mission of music is to unite people, why is he writing songs that imply killing kids and civilians, and eradicating an ethnic group, is okay as long as you call it 'war'
That's...not very 'uniting' of him

But then I strongly suspect there's a lot of things he doesn't realize. He seems quite clueless in general.

So… he’s okay with genocide if the people fight back?
Pretty sure Jews resisted the Nazis 100 years ago… does he think that wasn’t a genocide either?
Also TIL “genocide” is a bad word on iOS. You can’t trace type it, you have to tap it out like a Neanderthal.
Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 30d
I don't use that feature, but I'm curious. Does the trace type permit other -cides, like suicide, homicide, patricide, infanticide, etc? I can't help but wonder what the limit here is.

Genocide
Got it on Android
Checkmate, other phone people! Swipe-typed and everything. Come to the EVOLVED mobile OS /s (don't, Android is a piece of shit and getting worse)
cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 30d
You're preaching to the choir. I've used Android since 2010 (and iOS since 2016). I have a 2024 iPhone 16 Pro Max, and a 2019 Galaxy S10 (years included to make a point, they aren't part of the name of the phone and those phone models did not have releases in other years). Guess which one types better. Not to mention the customisation. It's also not that much slower. It's really not slow. I'd make it a daily driver if it had a newer battery. The thing only lasts a couple hours. Absolute joy to use when it works.
I can argue in favour of either of them, or against either of them. At the end of the day, one is made by an advertising company but has more options, and the other is made by a computer that sucks up to its country's supreme ruler and treats its users like children. Neither platform is "better". They both suck, and they both do a few things well. Most of the things people do are done at least acceptably on both.
The big change with Android I think you're referring to is the 24-hour lock on unsigned code. So right now (and forever with my S10 because it's not getting updates anymore), you can install a .apk (Android Package) from the Internet and it just works, just like a .exe on Windows or a .app on macOS (what I use). So with Android in 2027 or 2028 or whenever they are going to do this, you will need to go into the settings and enable unsigned code. Otherwise, no .apk installation for you, you must go through the Play Store. However, if you do do it, you must wait 24 hours for the feature to unlock. So, say I buy a new Android phone that has this feature. Being a savvy user, the very first thing I'm doing is enabling that setting. Then I'm gonna go install Nova Launcher and its Prime unlocker, Poweramp, and all my go-to Android apps. When the 24 hours is up, by then I'll have things set up how I want, and then I can start installing stuff from outside the Play Store. I can't think of anything, but I want the ability to decide for myself. The problem is, and the reason this feature exists, is if you want something right fucking now, you have to wait. So scammers will make an app and they will try to get people to install it. Those people would enable the feature and then have to wait 24 hours. Google is hoping that in that time, you realise installing some sketchy app is a really bad idea, so you don't do it, and maybe turn the feature back off. Of course, "trust us, our app store is safe" is almost always bullshit. Apple was found to have been harbouring, and profiting from, a fake cryto wallet app that stole over a million dollars from a half dozen plaintiffs who are suing. This was an app in Apple's App Store that they said is safe, and they lost many thousands, in some cases hundreds of thousands of dollars, on Apple's promises. And of course Google is no better.
SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 30d
Poweramp's global eq should actually just be part of the os.
cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 29d
Poweramp — or maybe PlayerPro, I forget which one — used to have a feature where you could set the EQ per song. Maybe also per album, per playlist, per whatever the hell. It was neat.
I'm one of those guys who trusts the person mastering the audio to set the levels right, so I leave my EQ off. That being said, I absolutely support the end user's right to screw with their audio however they want. I used to like Winamp's "small speakers" (or maybe it was "laptop speakers") preset, but... I had small speakers.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 28d
Being pro-genocide is not an age issue. The people getting arrested and jailed in the UK for opposing genocide include a large over-60s contingent. You shouldn't assume that your relative lack of life experience makes you in any way superior.
HeyJoe@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 28d
Sorry, famous old people. And that is from life experience since a new person pops up all the time and has been more and more over the years. Half the time you also hear about it when they die and everyones comments let it know what you may have missed.
