I have issues with Hawaii and Alaska placements on this map.
Kolanaki@pawb.social · 30 pts · 1d
I feel like this map isn't just putting them there to show they are part of the country; this map assumes we physically moved the states.
danc4498@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 1d
I’m fine with this explanation. Honestly, they should be closer to home anyway.
adarza@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 1d
their stripes should reflect their actual location, not where their insets are in relation to the rest of the map.
samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1d
And shrunk Alaska and physically moved Mexico...or air-dropped Alaska and Hawaii onto it.
Kolanaki@pawb.social · 3 pts · 1d
I like the idea of dropping a couple states onto another country.
"Ha! Florida's your problem now, Germany!"
samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1d
Put it in eastern Germany with the other right-wingers.

So the white spaces between the states, are they basically like international waters?
The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 1d
Yeah, that's where we keep all the casinos and black markets.
GraniteM@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1d
Hell, yeah. Almost 200,000 square miles dedicated to lawlessness, vice, and anarchy. Sure would make interstate travel more interesting.

With a moat of debauchery surrounding DC. I like it.
Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 1d

huppakee@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 1d
Why do all the states have different names? Aren't they all called America now?
taiyang@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1d
Nah, the king simply added America to the pre-existing names since they refuse to assimilate blue states. Cali-merica, Ameriiwai, New Yamerica, Washingamerica, and so on.
Mac@mander.xyz · 2 pts · 1d
Calimerica is actually a cool name, I've decided
Thatuserguy@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1d
The audacity of North Carolina to take that sliver of land from Virginia. This will not stand

Wars have been fought over less, and by god, they're about to again
Mac@mander.xyz · 8 pts · 1d
We should do this just to mess with Europeans. We'll relate it to the unit circle and claim it's metric.
They'll lose their minds heheh

Is any part of Illinois actually in Illinois here? Why are we giving our only profitable cities to Maine lol
idiomaddict@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1d
You think Illinois has got problems? Delaware is in Florida!

I have a geographical bias, all right?
DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 8h
If I recall correctly from history class, this was George Washington's original proposal.
But, that was a long time ago.

DC can become the central district, then rename them all clockwise. District 1, district 2 etc.
First you need a massive authoritarian takeover that erodes the original federation into a new empire.

Do I stay in the new state, or do I have to move to where my state is on the map. Because those are very different climates for me.
