I must admit that last week, I actually looked at how one can create a bot here in Lemmy.

If memory serves me right, I was looking at this repo, but decided it's a bit too much for me to understand, much less use and do something useful with it. It does have the functionality to automatically create posts in a community, however.

All this time I legitimately thought you were able to build the_yaya or repurposed her to work with Lemmy APIs that quickly.

Para maiba naman, I'll answer with my favorite underrated 90's anime. Time Quest. I don't even know if it even was famous in Japan but I like how wacky and weird it is (even though it's pretty much tame in hindsight).

If the protests are really such a failure as some people say, we wouldn't see actions such as:

• ordering (some other) subreddit(s) to open, lest the mod team be replaced by those who are more compliant
• making interviews all over and telling that the protests are a failure (if they are a failure, why talk about it, you wouldn't want to put a spotlight on them, would you?)

I think that the resulting media coverage alone, forcing Reddit to go on a PR tour all over mainstream media, is success enough. It has also led some advertisers to pause their campaigns on Reddit.

Sentiment on Reddit is not reliable as well. Ignoring (chat) bots and plants, those who have remained are more skewed towards being on Reddit's side of the fight. The others, like us here, have already moved elsewhere, and some others still are boycotting the site. That means that our voices are not heard on Reddit anymore (not that I am interested in making my voice heard over there—not after I've gotten convinced that it doesn't matter).

The protests have succeeded in doing at least one thing: giving the people the push to move onto other alternatives. It also arguably succeeded in putting the highlight on the problems users have against Reddit. It also could probably be argued as spooking advertisers enough to put their campaigns on Reddit on a temporary hold.

In the end, it's just a matter of what you think the protests are aiming for, and to what extent. If you think the protests are such that Reddit gives in and relents on the API price spike, then yeah, sure, it failed hard. I think, however, that getting Reddit to relent is but a bonus.

I have a similar device (Redmi Note 11 5G) and while I haven't gone full de-google, I've done a bit of removal.

I had to go through a bit of ADB though:

• Install ADB on my desktop.
• Enable developer mode on my phone. You may have to make a MI account for this.
• Connect the phone (already with developer mode enabled) to the desktop (with ADB installed)
• Run the ADB shell and connect to the phone.
• Start erasing stuff from the ADB shell.

I've followed a guide like this (please don't take it as a recommendation to follow this particular guide), and a list like this of Xiaomi bloatware (again, not recommending this particular list).

bricked a phone by removing the default launcher. was confident everything was okay because i was toying around with the new launcher for an hour. deactivated the developer mode. then the screen went blank. rebooted the phone but the screen remains blank. could not recover through adb because of it was no longer in developer mode. good thing it was an old phone.
it was fun though, did it again with another phone. learned my lesson- did not remove the stock launcher and left the developer mode on the second time around.
