I call them the Epstein Class. It's not just this administration, or even one party, or even just politicians in general. It is the global elite and their unjust system of exploitation called capitalism that has allowed Trump to do what he does with no consequences. As long as the Epstein Class exists, there will be more Epsteins.
Think Epstein's network crossed economic ideological boundaries. Noam Chomsky considered Epstein a good friend while simultaneously being a staunch critic of capitalism. There are signs of being connected to the USSR, China, North Korea, .... If Epstein connected with fame or power, it didn't matter what 'system' was in play.
Yeah unfortunately some people who were ostensibly on the side of the working class were also caught up with Epstein. There are evil people on every side. I'm not surprised by connections between Epstein and USSR/China/DKP. Epstein was primarily an asset of Mossad and the CIA, who used him to generate kompromat. Would you not expect that entities that are aligned against the western hegemony of the Epstein Class to try to gain access to the blackmail factory? Or it could also just be that they were all pedophiles, too. I don't know.
None of this changes the fact that the reason no one truly powerful ever faces consequences for things like Epstein or the Panama Papers is that the political-economic system is designed by the ruling class to benefit those few people lucky enough to own capital. Wealth = Power.
I like the Iranian ministers, they just casually walk with their people in the middle of a war and have the balls to call these guys out in front of everyone.

Yeah, let's also not forget a US regime change is why Iran has the government it does. We didn't like it when their more secular government took control of their oil.
Didn't the FBI already say shit about bombing California?

Honestly that might be something that could actually incite real rebellion by state governments and another civil war - the federal government carrying out a false flag so ham-handedly that it’s brutally fucking obvious that it’s a false flag.

tf do you think was the point of militarizing the police, turning ICE into the 4th largest military in America, and building massive concentration camps?
Is there a geographical reason to target California? Because, if anything, I imagine Texas would be the bigger target. California opposes Trump, Texas does not. Why would Iran want to target the enemy of its own enemy?
do you think there are "good"states and"bad states"?
they are all the same, we started a war, and attacked civilian centers, we set the terms of engagement. random Californians are targets thanks to trump
Random Californians were put at risk thanks to Trump, obviously. I wouldn’t dare argue otherwise. My point has more to do with what I imagine the strategy of a state like Iran would be. I think your point stands, if the offensive were coming from China. Do you think Iran believes they’d stand a chance at accomplishing anything via an assault on US soil? If it were to happen at all, which I already believe to be quite unlikely, then I can only really accept it would happen with political precision. Iran would, if they were smart, try not to give Californians a reason to change their position on the war.
do you think there are "good"states and"bad states"?
Yeah, I do. There are states that are gerrymandered to hell, propagandized to hell, and serve the interests of a very small and damaging minority. That minority includes Trump and his enablers. You alternatively have the equally shit alternative states, and yeah… I picked that side.
in WW2, was there a distinction on which parts of Germany were more or less in favour of Hitler? When we carpet bombed Cambodia, did we looked into the regional polls? when we bombed Teheran, do they look at which neighbours and school girls were more or less in favour of the regime? When we endorsed a genocide in Gaza, did we ask to only target certain neighbours based on polls?
This "In hope they spare the blue states" is such an unimaginably entitled statement. Sounds like "But I am one of the good guys!!!"
No, the US has a long imperialist career of wars of aggressions and war crimes. You have personally benefited from them by having low fuel costs, you are not innocent, you might not have consented to this, but you are part of it, your taxes paid for it. If anything the US is the nation that need to be liberated.
This is such an annoying reply that I see everywhere. Yes, you need to treat a disease, but sometimes a single symptom can be the most threatening part of a disease.
If I'm having a heart attack, I don't need a diatribe about diet and exercise to fix the disease, I need CPR to fix the symptom.
He may just be a symptom of a greater problem, but he's a pretty big fucking problem by himself.
Well said. I don't get the impulse for people to be like "there is no solution here. Trump gone won't change anything" which is just stupid. Yes there is a huge systemic problem.. but your metaphor here works well to explain why the take of the other person is not helpful.
All of it is helpful. This is just public discourse, and it’s important that we don’t become one dimensional in our understandings. Nobody here is going to make an argument so precise and well done that it’ll motivate any one of us to go to the local gun store and start target practice. Helpful in this context is being wise, flexible, understanding, … don’t let yourself become distracted, predictable, or blind.
what's the difference? the orange pedophile couldn't care less about public opinion and it's clear by now Americans will not mount an opposition of any significance at this point
Now Iran can attempt an attack almost openly on the US soil and many will believe it was an inside job. Well, that's what happens when you have 0 credibility at home due to your compulsive need to say BS all the time.
Nah, we’ll still be able to tell. Effective, strategic, hits people of all walks of life? Iran. Bungled, half-assed, and happens in a blue city, in a community of color, at a gay bar… you know.
What dimension of chess are we now playing? 6D? 7D? Shit’s going to start blowing up and 1/3 of the people will be claiming it, 1/3 blaming it, and 1/3 lying about it, when in fact it was a laptop battery that overheated.
You mean like that “potential drone strike attempt” in California that the FBI said Iran might try to do? Despite it being unlikely that Iran has drones capable of striking California?
Haha, yeah. I saw that too and pondered at the veracity of that claim. If Iran has drones that can fly across the Indian and Pacific Oceans and still hit a target, damn, that’s a helluva technological leap.
A head's up, totally feasible. A drone strike can be launched from a boat, a box truck, a garage, anywhere you can have an operator to control it.
I'm not saying that this particular threat was a real problem, but personally I do not understand how the US has not been hit yet. Why is Iran not even bothering?
Because historically, the only two times the USA was actually attacked on USA soil, we retaliated with an unreasonable amount of force. Sure we didn’t nuke anyone after 9/11, but we did after Pearl Harbor and Trump is absolutely demented and egotistical enough to actually try to nuke a country that directly attacks the USA. Plus, attacking Iran is pretty unpopular in the USA because people can tell that we are doing this at the behest of Israel, and they don’t want American soldiers to die fighting Israel’s war (obviously some Americans are fine with this tho bc zionists are loyal to Israel above all else). If Iran attacks the USA directly then suddenly attacking Iran will be wildly popular in the USA, which will mean an even longer and more brutal conflict is guaranteed
I agree that it totally makes sense if Iran attacks the USA. It’s not good (war never is), but it makes sense. However, most Americans don’t think like this. They’ll suddenly feel an ounce of the fear that we’ve made other people across the world feel and instead of reflecting on why this happened and that it’s the consequences of the USA’s actions, they’ll get angry and go full scorched earth. Just like people did with 9/11. People still use that as “justification” for terrorizing the entire Middle East
We have sonar so good we can find a dead billionaire at the bottom of the sea. Ain't no way they get a boat with a drone in range without us letting it happen.
Only that the Trumpets do have pretty plausible deniability if there is no clear and blatant evidence it's a false flag, as nobody would believe the dumbasses in the US Admin were competent enough to pull off a successful false flag.
It's your race if you think that is meant to be read literally.
You however think brown people want to blow themselves up in the middle of crowds. Gullible idiot.
Quote anything that I've ever said that even implies that.
The US is bombing Iran, and so expecting Iran to attack US targets is not racist, it is an accurate description of the world where Iran is attacking US targets.
Now Iran can attempt an attack almost openly on the US soil and many will believe it was an inside job. Well, that’s what happens when you have 0 credibility at home due to your compulsive need to say BS all the time.
what makes you think iran want to blow up civilians? you guys do that. Quit projecting yourself as the victim
Nobody does false flag attacks like the US. One must just assume that if something like that happens it was fully planned and deployed by the Burger admin, that's always the most probable scenario.
Honestly, they're very refined today compared to the Americans (the empire isn't what it used to be) when it comes to precise, covert operations, you might be right.
Like the fake assassination attempt on Trump during the 2024 presidential election where he wore a bandaid for 3 weeks then took it off because he was bored of it?
I find this claim I just read in a headline more credible than any of the claims released by the Epstein network because I feel like that's pretty fucking obvious they're either trying to provoke an attack or make a false flag look more believable.
Just a friendly reminder that this happened a few weeks ago:
He'd do it if he wants to restart the draft for troops on the ground.
That being said, I don't think it would acrually work that well and could easily backfire within the US. At the very least he would need heavy congressional support.
If there's a 9/11 style event before 2028, it will open the door for Donald to became a true dictator, and even better, the American people will line up behind him and support it. (As evidenced by Dubya getting reelected after all the dictator shit he did post-9/11.)
It'll have to be soon. He's sundowning hard lately, and it won't be much longer before he won't even be able to get through a speech even with a teleprompter.
You’re talking about America, the biggest terrorist/genocide state on earth. I don’t think they give a crap which flimsy excuse they need to use to cause terror on nations across the planet. They love war and terror, all to a degree
You fucking wish, Thats like saying a toddler is more dangerous than his dad.
That’s another thing you colonist love, to pass the blame and point the finger at others to make yourselves look less guilty.
I don't like Trump or the war either but this is literally just propaganda. I trust Iran as much as I trust Trump. Not at all. Foreign authoritarians are not somehow more trustworthy than domestic ones. The phrase "the Epstein Network" is just an attempt to anchor this into domestic political controversies.
Bluntly Trump doesn't care about public opinion about this war enough to do this or the lead in to this war would have looked much more like Iraq
Making an arbitrary and artificial connection with another country is more of an insight into you then it is a useful observation.
It’s like saying coal miners from West Virginia sound weirdly like coal miners from Turkmenistan - they both have black lung so it would be weird if they didn’t.

We have sonar so good we can find a dead billionaire at the bottom of the sea. Ain't no way they get a boat with a drone in range without us letting it happen.
toad@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 178d
Because they're not terrorists.
Mulligrubs@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 178d
Even they admit they are terrorists. Constantly
toad@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 177d
You're terrorized the genocide could stop don't ya
lechekaflan@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 178d
They don't have to launch direct attacks, as already there are sympathizers who could come out of nowhere.

Only that the Trumpets do have pretty plausible deniability if there is no clear and blatant evidence it's a false flag, as nobody would believe the dumbasses in the US Admin were competent enough to pull off a successful false flag.
ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 178d
I'm already convinced that the guys removed from the flights were false flags. So they had bombs and then got arrested without detonating? My ass...
toad@sh.itjust.works · -4 pts · 178d
lmao you still think brown people are the terrorists?
I swear some people are unredeemable.
FauxLiving@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 178d
This is an ironic statement.

Said the racist
FauxLiving@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 177d
Yeah, you got me.
I'm racist against idiot.
toad@sh.itjust.works · -1 pts · 177d
That's not a race.
You however think brown people want to blow themselves up in the middle of crowds. Gullible idiot.
FauxLiving@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 177d
It's your race if you think that is meant to be read literally.
Quote anything that I've ever said that even implies that.
The US is bombing Iran, and so expecting Iran to attack US targets is not racist, it is an accurate description of the world where Iran is attacking US targets.
toad@sh.itjust.works · 0 pts · 177d
what makes you think iran want to blow up civilians? you guys do that. Quit projecting yourself as the victim
ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world · 46 pts · 179d
Nobody does false flag attacks like the US. One must just assume that if something like that happens it was fully planned and deployed by the Burger admin, that's always the most probable scenario.
unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de · 25 pts · 179d
Nah Israel is definitely the king of false flags.
ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 179d
Honestly, they're very refined today compared to the Americans (the empire isn't what it used to be) when it comes to precise, covert operations, you might be right.

Like the fake assassination attempt on Trump during the 2024 presidential election where he wore a bandaid for 3 weeks then took it off because he was bored of it?
Scubus@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 179d
Well it was a real assassination attempt. They really killed that firefighter.
VitoRobles@lemmy.today · -3 pts · 179d
False flag and the firefighter was a actor.
AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works · 44 pts · 179d
I find this claim I just read in a headline more credible than any of the claims released by the Epstein network because I feel like that's pretty fucking obvious they're either trying to provoke an attack or make a false flag look more believable.
Just a friendly reminder that this happened a few weeks ago:
European police agencies said on Friday that 22 people had been identified as being part of attacks involving a series of exploding parcels in Europe in 2024, which the Russian military intelligence service was suspected of being behind...Explosions occurred in courier depots in Britain, Germany and Poland with security officials suggesting they were part of a test run for a Russian plot to trigger explosions on cargo flights to the United States.
Tattorack@lemmy.world · 38 pts · 179d
...
... The world has gone very wrong when this doesn't even sound so unbelievable. I only see one issue:
So far the US seems to have given up trying to make pretext for anything. Trump can do anything he wants and be worshipped for it.
Hadriscus@jlai.lu · 10 pts · 179d
He still has to manufacture consent, and blaming the brown people for random bombings is the classic way. It's not just unbelievable, it will happen.
mlg@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 179d
He'd do it if he wants to restart the draft for troops on the ground.
That being said, I don't think it would acrually work that well and could easily backfire within the US. At the very least he would need heavy congressional support.
ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 178d
It wouldn't work well. I'm old as fuck but most Americans are flat out not doing it. This is not Vietnam.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 179d
I honestly think this is part of the plan.
If there's a 9/11 style event before 2028, it will open the door for Donald to became a true dictator, and even better, the American people will line up behind him and support it. (As evidenced by Dubya getting reelected after all the dictator shit he did post-9/11.)
SwingingTheLamp@piefed.zip · 8 pts · 179d
It'll have to be soon. He's sundowning hard lately, and it won't be much longer before he won't even be able to get through a speech even with a teleprompter.
FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 179d
You're not wrong. That's almost certainly, in part, a driving factor behind the urgency of starting these wars now.

You’re talking about America, the biggest terrorist/genocide state on earth. I don’t think they give a crap which flimsy excuse they need to use to cause terror on nations across the planet. They love war and terror, all to a degree

Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca · 17 pts · 179d
But he does care about rigging elections and would love a reason to attempt to suspend elections.
