Conspiracy theory since the BLM is selling rounded up wild horses to buyers and then those buyers are suspected of selling to slaughter houses. Meanwhile the administration is waiving tariffs to import lean meat trimmings without specifying the source countries. The theory is those two things are directly linked.

There are protected wild horses on federal land.

It's illegal to hunt them or kill them for meat.

But the Trump administration has found a loophole: if they capture them and sell them to a foreign entity alive, that foreign entity can legally butcher them.

It's darkly funny because those horses are a invasive species that only have federal protections because conservatives like to pretend to be cowboys.
