TV too low. Set on box.

BucketBong@p.hobo.social · 46 pts · 57d (6 replies)

Look at Mr big shot with his box, just use 2 milk crates you stole from the shops.

owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca · 38 pts · 57d (5 replies)

Ooh look at Mr Moneybags with his two crates. Us poors are over here with our plebian cardboard we pulled from a dumpster while you're living it up with your latticed plastic.

toiletobserver@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 57d (4 replies)

Oooh, look at Mr Fancy over here, i just sat on the floor to fix the problem

aldhissla@piefed.world · 24 pts · 57d (3 replies)

Oooh lookie here at Mr "I have a floor because I don't live in a hole". Must be nice with all that foundation to flaunt.

derAbsender@piefed.social · 13 pts · 57d (1 reply)

silence from the poor Souls that do not have Internet to contribute to this hilarious Jab and find Joy by watching Grass grow

EvilHankVenture@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 57d

Oh la di da, look at this captain of industry with his "grass" and his "joy". Some of us get by on momentary distraction by a passing cloud.

SethTaylor@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 57d

I'm Mr Meeseeks, look at me!

OwOarchist@pawb.social · 23 pts · 57d

Yep. Raise the TV to eye level. Then there are no remaining problems with this setup.

Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 57d

Too much echo, too. Throw some shit on the walls. Shit you enjoy looking at. Then less echo.

Quick edit: TV speakers, egregious sin from me. If this person is always using headphones, ignore, but that’s so not common and the couch suggests guests. 50USD beginner Logitech or Pebble 2.1 PC Speaker+sub set and a 3.5mm-to-RCA adapter (if the TV doesn’t have a headphone jack) and you’re golden. Shoot, a set of pebbles without the sub would be 100x better than the TV speakers and that’s like 20-30 moneys… but do yourself a favor and at least get a lil sub. Even the ultra shy lil pebble sub makes a pretty big difference.

TV too low

manuremy@sopuli.xyz · 17 pts · 57d (2 replies)

Couple of beercases would fix that!

arrow74@lemmy.zip · 9 pts · 57d (1 reply)

Or a dirt pile

manuremy@sopuli.xyz · 5 pts · 57d

Some cobblestones from the nearby cobblestone street?

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 57d

Yep. That must be really uncomfortable.

PhoenixDog@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 57d

Nope.

According to the tv too high people, this is clearly too high.

It should be about a foot into the floor for proper neck strain.

ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world · 56 pts · 57d (5 replies)

No game console of course, that’s what’s wrong.

D1re_W0lf@piefed.social · 15 pts · 57d (3 replies)

I was going to say “no gaming pc” but let’s not get picky.

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 57d (2 replies)

No, let's get picky! This looks like someone who wouldn't even be running Linux on the gaming PC they don't have!

D1re_W0lf@piefed.social · 6 pts · 57d (1 reply)

Wait… there’s… there’s… gaming PCs without Linux??! 👀😱

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 57d

Just like there's life without happiness. Some people haven't known anything else though sadly.

basxto@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 57d

If it is AndroidTV, just install RetroArch.

We need more FLOSS Android games that can be played with a remote or gamepad

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 37 pts · 57d (4 replies)

The TV should be a bit higher so it's easier to view while laying back in the seat. Go find a construction site and snag yourself an empty cable spool to use as a table.

474D@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 57d (2 replies)

I was going to say the box that the TV came in but whatever works

someguy7734206@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 57d (1 reply)

That's too thin and wouldn't raise it high enough.

Hoimo@ani.social · 11 pts · 57d

Put it upright and balance your brand new tv precariously on a thin piece of cardboard.

Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio · 2 pts · 57d

It might fit on that fireplace mantle...

Dyskolos@lemmy.zip · 32 pts · 57d (2 replies)

No, absolutely not. This is horrible beyond measures. Who made this? Satan?

The TV surely needs some refrigerator-box it could stand on, it's way too low. Barbarians...

funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 57d (1 reply)

after a couple of weeks of factor meals you'll have enough boxes

Dyskolos@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 56d

Hm...fair point.

Ironfacebuster@lemmy.world · 28 pts · 57d

Only problem is that the TV is too low, needs to be on a cardboard box

db_null@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 26 pts · 57d (4 replies)

The beers are getting warm

Rakonat@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 57d (3 replies)

Drink faster

Unpigged@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 57d (2 replies)

There are 7 cans on the floor, not counting the open one. A .5l can of beer warms by 10..15 degrees in about half an hour. If the tempo is set to 15 minutes a can, by the middle of the stack you'll get 3..4 cans of piss warm beer.

So realistically to get all of them chill, you need to do at the pace of 5..7 minutes a can. Can be done of you're into turning your evening into a sporting event.

The TV is ugly low, that's right.

okwhateverdude@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 57d (1 reply)

What if they have underfloor cooling/heating? Maybe it is cranked down and keeping the beer mildly cool

SomeoneSomewhere@lemmy.nz · 4 pts · 57d

Underfloor cooling is really rare (basically never used) because if you cool the floor to near/below the dew point, you'll get water condensing on it.

Normally you want that water condensing somewhere with a good drain, so you get dehumidification too.

Steve@startrek.website · 18 pts · 57d

Anyone can see that the tv needs a milk carton under it

Formfiller@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 57d

My lesbian mom lived like that for years after her separation

SethTaylor@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 57d (3 replies)

The TV is too low

Other than that, go nuts lol

EDIT: Oh, damn! We all said the same thing about the TV. Like Jerry Smith in the Jerry Daycare episode. I am become dad, destroyer of factory settings lol

purplemonkeymad@programming.dev · 4 pts · 57d

Or. The seat is too high. They could just take the cushions out and put them on the floor.

Etterra@discuss.online · 4 pts · 56d

Needs a mini fridge to keep the beer cold.

chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 56d

Too small too! Better to get a projector and just fill the entire wall with a gorgeous 4K image!

Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca · 13 pts · 57d (3 replies)

There's a console missing.

thermal_shock@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 57d (1 reply)

I was thinking a box was missing. I'm not looking down at my tv, get a few from the liquor store, they're stronger

kieron115@startrek.website · 2 pts · 57d

was gonna say the same thing. needs a few boxes under the tv.

PhoenixDog@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 57d

Also the tv is too high.

Or so I've been told.

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 13 pts · 57d (3 replies)

What's with the fancy-pants la-de-dah white cushion? Is the chairs own cushioning not good enough?

InputZero@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 57d (2 replies)

That's a pillow. This is probably also his bed.

EvilHankVenture@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 57d

Yeah, it looks like a bed pillow with no pillow case, it gets a pass.

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 57d

Efficient. I like it.

InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 57d

TV too high

wesker@lemmy.sdf.org · 12 pts · 57d (5 replies)

I bought into the lifestyle creep at some point, and became convinced that my house had to be filled with house things. Let me tell you, it's no more cozier than what's pictured in the meme.

Slab_Bulkhead@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 57d (3 replies)

lol both sides are wack imo

toiletobserver@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 57d (2 replies)

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 57d (3 replies)

Flip everything towards the fireplace and put the tv on the mantle then BOOM!...redecorated.

FeatherConstrictor@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 57d (1 reply)

Then the tv will be too high

Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 42d

Not if you're laying back on the chair

funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 57d

sounds like work

Eternal192@anarchist.nexus · 10 pts · 57d

It's the simple things in life.

i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 57d

Order a TV wall mount you savage.

Then put the TV on top of it. Raises it up about 4 inches. Perfect.

panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 57d (4 replies)

For now, that mantle would be a better place for that tv, assuming it can be safely placed there.

Otherwise, a box or lawn chair would be a good base for the TV.

Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 57d (3 replies)

Drink beers to construct tv stand over time. It’s motivation, sense of accomplishment, and being goal oriented.

0ops@piefed.zip · 6 pts · 57d (2 replies)

And be sloppy with it, let it dribble. A tacky stack is a happy stack

swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 57d (1 reply)

Just don't get crazy with the hackeysack

Janx@piefed.social · 2 pts · 57d

And reward yourself with a snacky snack.

kivihiili@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 7 pts · 57d

while at a first glance you may conjecture that nothing is particularly out of the ordinary, the glow of the cherenkov radiation seen behind the television is a telltale sign of this apartment being flooded with water. the beer cans lack any meaningful thickness of insulation, and making the assumption that the water is of adequate temperature for the habitation of warm blooded creatures, the beer will thus warm rapidly.

peaceful_world_view@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 57d

makes cleaning so easy....lol, we don't clean

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 57d (1 reply)

Ew. Using the built-in "smart TV" stuff.

Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 57d

Nightmare. I found some Lenovo Tiny machines for 50 moneys each and now they’re on every screen in the house. Infinite access to everything on every screen with no ads anywhere is just incredible.

I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the framework touchpad keyboard so I can replace all many k400s, though. Please come to me, good touchpad keyboard…

greedytacothief@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 56d

They see financial responsibility and decry it as poor taste. Even the beer looks cheap, this is what a responsible man looks like.

lightnsfw@reddthat.com · 5 pts · 57d

Needs a cooler for the beer.

mechoman444@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 56d

I would get some kind of stand or table for the TV. But otherwise... I don't see an issue.

TrickDacy@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 57d

Men be like hurr hurr hurr

PixeIOrange@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 57d

Theres an xbox missing!

RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip · 3 pts · 57d (2 replies)

What keywords would I look up if I wanted furniture like that

Rakonat@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 57d (1 reply)

The chair gets called a lot of things like ottoman or lounge though I believe the specific name is chaise lounge.

They are very nice if you get a properly cushioned one, but can be a struggle to get out of when you're tired.

blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 57d

Incidentally, "chaise" is just the french word for chair

hardcoreufo@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 56d

Needs speakers.

toiletobserver@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 57d

Where mini fridge or ice chest for drinks

rumba@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 54d

God I know Right? WTF is up with the 2 gang light switch over by the fireplace? gonna walk across the dark room to turn a light on? The one for the electric fireplade is fine

gandalf_der_12te@feddit.org · 1 pts · 56d (1 reply)

i wonder whether you really need that chimney but apart from that, it's fine

maybe could have gone with a simple mattress instead of a couch

howrar@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 56d

A couch works better as a bed than a bed does as a couch.

Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 57d

Wooow, a real couch?

Someone got fancy.
