you might want to look up "colonization", the British, Spanish, Portuguese, etc colonized much of Africa, drained it of resources, then that same wealth made its way to the US which was also a British colony after they killed and stole the land from the natives. Colonizers who then min maxed it by going all in on slavery, then when the motherland was asking for too much in taxes from their profits they broke away. The US was built with blood and money.

Lie—that was nonsense that went viral, and immediately collapsed under scrutiny. That claim was tweeted at Musk, and when he replied saying 'explain how that would work and I'll give you the money right now', he got a sheepish response to the tune of 'well actually, it would only help, not end it, and only temporarily'.
A more recent, actual estimate, puts it closer to $93 billion. And not once, but annually.
Stop being so gullible and falling for this sensationalized nonsense just because it confirms your biases.

Still seems like a pretty low number to me. The U.S. military budget request this year was 1.5 trillion dollars. Thats unusually high, but even at previous levels of 700-800 billion a year, that's chump change to take out of the U.S. military budget yearly.
Now if we all actually cared about world hunger 93 billion annually is a pretty small price to pay.

For those not doing the math - assuming a trillion dollars just gets dumped into a bucket labeled "world hunger" (because we as the world decide to start taxing millionaires, billionares, etc heavily), and assuming we'd need $93 million to eradicate it annually, we could eradicate world hunger for the next 10,752 years.

Trillionaires cannot be allowed to exist. Now that there's one, all the rest of the Sociopathic Oligarchs are going to want to be trillionaires, too, so we'll face another round of ruthless profit squeezing to get there.
And they'll get even more arrogant and demanding, and when we finally deny them, they will form alliances, and start creating their own military. We will see it, and try and stop it, but MAGAs will defend them and run interference.
They will eventually claim a landmass somehow - buy it, steal it, conquer it - and become their own financially and militarily aggressive nation, and really start throwing their weight around.
It is absolutely imperative that we stop these mentally-ill financial hoarders. Their obsessive accumulation of money is suppressing the freedom of billions of people around the globe, and it will only get worse. They can't control themselves, they don't care at all about the damage they inflict, and they have no intention of slowing down. They can't, they are MENTALLY ILL. They need medical care, not be treated like visionary business people, and they certainly should not be given even more money by the government. It's like giving a drunk his own distillery, or handing a gambling addict his own casino.
And billionaires already look down on millionaires. Now trillionaires are going to look down their snooty noses at mere billionaires. Millionaires are now paupers.
The rest of us only have value as cheap slave labor, but once AI takes over, we won't even carry value as slaves. Then we'll just be in the way, consuming, demanding our rights, causing problems, demanding valuable things for free like food, water, air, medical care, housing, etc. We will become useless consumers of resources to people who see us as nothing more than ants, and we will be treated accordingly.
It is INEVITABLE.

Nobody sniffs their own farts a deeply and satisfyingly as a Sociopathic Oligarch, and it causes them to become arrogant on a mentally-ill level, and they are only getting worse. They will believe that their little Mars project for the ultra wealthy is the peak of human progress, but they will underestimate its dangers, both from the environment, and from outside forces.
Once they're up there, and we're down here, we can cut them off, and they'll be stuck up there. It will take decades for them to create a Mars-based economy to replace what they had on Earth. Without Earth dwellers to exploit, they'll start stealing from each other, causing their own class warfare.
And for every second they remain on Mars, they are at the mercy of an environment that is far more inhospitable that anywhere on Earth. If the dome gets breached, it is all over for them, and there will be constant attacks. Eventually one will succeed.
They can't to Mars soon enough.

The issue though is that he can borrow against that. That's the real scam, and it's something we need to address. Loans backed by assets like stocks should get taxed as if it were a short term sale of the assets. Also cap how much stock you can use as collateral for loans. Or just ban using stocks as collateral in the first place. They want to spend? They need to sell, pay the taxes, and weigh the loss in voting power against their need for money

Outright banning using collateral for loans wouldn't work, even us plebs can do that and it has uses, like taking out a loan against your house. And if it's not stocks, its something else they have that's worth a lot or will loophole around into. They just need to tax collateralized loans or ban it after a certain amount.
edit: and if you get to the point that its taxed (if its at a threshold) then you got enough money to pay someone to figure it out and manage it.

That’s exactly the trick. The rich don’t become rich by selling their assets. They become powerful by never having to.
They pledge their stock as collateral, borrow against it, and live off debt instead of income. No sale means no capital gains tax. No liquidation means no crash in their holdings. Meanwhile, the underlying assets keep appreciating.
Their “paper wealth” may not be cash, but it buys access to virtually unlimited credit, and credit becomes power.
At that level, wealth isn’t about liquidity. It’s about leverage, and leverage is power.

You're getting hung up on the wrong thing here.
In this context, a visionary is someone that can help lead humanity to a better way of life. Many of Musk's fans actually think this about him, that either his electric cars, his "ai", his "free speech platform", or his space program will somehow make the world a better place. All while ignoring his bigotry, his exploitation of humans and the environment, his political escapades which has resulted in countless deaths, and his collusion with Epstein. It is all a scam.
The richest person in the world also happens to be one of the worst.

He can borrow against that asset value for liquid cash at extremely low interest rates, so he essentially has access to at minimum 50-80% of that value. For all intents and purposes, and especially given that it would be essentially impossible for an individual to ever actually spend a trillion dollars, he has that much money.
If I own a house outright that’s worth $2 million but I only have $10 cash in the bank, it would be entirely disingenuous to say that I’m poor. It’s far more accurate to say I’m a millionaire.

I had a nice comparison to put a billion into perspective : a million seconds is 11 days, a billion seconds is over 30 years. We understand these two durations reasonably well, and the difference can be "felt" clearly.
A trillion seconds is 30000 years... and again, the numbers stop making sense. That would be the Upper Palaeolithic. Agriculture was invented 10000 years ago. Hmm, what else ? Right, sorry, I rounded down. It would actually be 31688 years. A little slip-up of 1700 years, no biggie. The difference between today and the antiquity.

No, because I can picture 1 (dollar, apple, person, whatever) and 1000, and it's very obvious that one is a rounding error compared to the other, a difference of 0.1%.
It's just that I can't picture a million apples, much less a billion or a trillion. Hence why I usually turn to time, or distance.
Here's another : if a million is a kilometre, a billion is 1000km and a trillion is the distance to the moon and back.

Like it or not, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Go outside, explore the world, meet some people. Don't just make fucking assumptions on the internet. Again, all this is doing is revealing that you (and probably your social circle) don't give a fuck. And that says something about you. How do reconcile your anti-abortion stance with your eagerness to see children starve to death in Africa? Just because a woman might have an abortion for some reason of her own, does not mean she wants all children to die. That's a really dumb thing to believe. Yet, by your own admission, you don't care if those African children starve, but you claim to care about abortion? Whose having the real problem with reconciliation?
Secondly, NOBODY is "Pro-Abortion." Despite the MAGA propaganda that you have chosen to believe, the TRUE Pro-Choice objective is to keep abortion Safe and Rare, but available. Nobody is promoting abortion or suggesting more of it, and any talk that "Libz" want every pregnancy to end in abortion is not only a lie, it's outrageously stupid. It's stupid to say it, and it's even more stupid to believe it.
Plenty of Pro-Choice people have children, that's why it's called Pro-CHOICE. It's not about pushing Abortion, it's about keeping it as ONE option, one choice, not the ONLY choice. Plenty of women who have had abortions, have gone on to have children. You definitely know some, you probably even have some in your family. Of course you'll deny it, but why would they confide in YOU? Basically, you know NOTHING about this subject, yet you're super judgemental about it anyway. Everyone around you already knows not to engage, and the especially not to confide.
Seriously, dude, you've got a mental issue. It's probably not mental ILLNESS, you just don't know how to think properly, because you never learned or practiced Critical Thinking Skills. You should "do your research," and find out about Critical Thing Skills, and learn about evidence, sources, logic, generalizations, data, statistics, propaganda, etc. Then practice and hone those skills so they are automatic, and when you hear a MAGA say something remarkably stupid, you recognize it, and you don't think "Hey, that guy has a point."
