Bonus points if they are women, feminist, and not TERFs.
I've always been a fan of putting on some Alanis Morissette or Paramore (I fucking love Hayley Williams and her new solo album too). I recently found Sofia Isella too. I'm hoping to add more artists to listen to!

system of a down. they have some bad takes in their music, but on the whole its surprisingly accurate criticism of the usa and life under capitalism. i listened to them as a kid and didnt realize how right they were. i dont listen to them much anymore because tbh their music just makes me more angry most of the time. thats all i can really say without getting into politics.

Good rec. System of a Down still slaps (for the most part). Definitely good angry music.

Kiki Rockwell. Angry AND witchy.

I fell so hard for her when we had this other music stuff some weeks ago <3
Wren@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 2d
I probably recommended her then, too.

Does anything really beat Kittie? Poppy also has been good (she covered Spit recently)

I've been getting into My Chemical Romance a lot more as of late.
Aside from that, Shiloh.

Skunk Anansie (early years) - political, loud, angry, lots to say about everything.
War on Women - feminist hardcore punk. The vocalist gives me big Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine) vibes.
Sharptooth - feminist / general political metallic hardcore. Mix of clean and harsh vocals.
Lambrini Girls - UK punk band. Definitely angry music. The vocalist shouts more than sings. There's even an anti TERF song "Terf Wars".
Nekra - Angry old school sounding hardcore. Only a few pretty short tracks. They've just released a new song for the first time since 2020 and I'm pretty happy.
VIOLENT VIRA - Recently discovered. I think maybe the best way I could describe it is emo grunge? Sometimes rage angry, sometimes sad angry, and a lot to say about everything. Mostly clean vocals with some screamo parts. Seems pretty young still, like the kind of stuff I would've loved when I was a teen. But an artist to keep an eye on for the future too.

Love seeing the multiple recommendations for Lambrini Girls! They're kickass!

I LOVE VIOLENT VIRA! But I get more melancholy vibes from her mostly.
Secret_Music@piefed.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 2d
Yeah I guess in a way I really just wanted to sneak that suggestion in there. Although I think there's a bit of being pissed off in the melancholy as well.

Run the Jewels has been a staple of mine when I’m feeling fiery for a long time
And I’d like to start getting more into riot grrrl artists, it’s a genre I haven’t explored much yet

-Screaming Females
-Bikini Kill
-IDLES
All punk more or less. I've been especially partial to Screaming Females lately when I'm feeling rage-y, but all 3 of these really hit that high-energy, rage at the machine kind of feel.
dkppunk@piefed.social · 5 pts · 2d
Hell yeah! Lots of riot grrrl when I’m angry. Also lots of Green Day, I love Reject and the entire Nimrod album for some angry punk in the car.
RedSeries@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 2d
I actually had Dookie on repeat today before swapping to Morisette! Love green day

I'm on a similar path. Here's my current playlist.
U-Huh by Tkay Maidza
Little Girl Gone by Chinchilla
Bad Girls and Paper Planes by M.I.A
Side note: I wanna listen to Bjork because I feel like the media really tried to steam roll her, back in the day, I'm not sure. I haven't had vibes for her style to look deeper into it yet.
Chappell Roan, Lorde and Billie Eilish can fill the void, sometimes too.
Kids (ain't all right) by Grace Mitchell
Flawless by Dorothy
Golden to Thrive by Samsaruh
Talk Deep by E^ST (her voice! Swoon!)
Habits by Tove Lo
Exs and ohs by Ellie King. (I have mad respect for her for all she went through with her Dad)
Not entirely just femme but this one has a beautiful premise and fem singer, *white blood by oh wonder. They wrote the song after their friends battle with cancer. It's representative of white blood cells fighting for your life, but as personification.
Beautiful by Joydrop. (I deep dived into my younger selves music and absolutely loved this, and still do in this version of myself, it seems.)
Fire fire by flyleaf (which addresses the toxic lies that shape young people struggling with family dysfunction and personal identity. )
This one is just beautiful and I love it so much. Saved the best for last. *Ngana Nyunyi by Tilly Tjala Thomas
