The Mariana Trench seems to be deeper, 11000 m compared to 7000 m. But I’m not sure what’s the reference point on Mars for elevation.
But at least can’t fall into the Mariana Trench
Air is not so different from water in the grand scheme of things, we're just designed for and acclimated to air rather than water. So yeah, I think sinking is at best a subgenre of falling.
Okay here me out, are you really saying that you don't want him to go to Mars?
I do. Or anywhere else really. Ideally hell. I mean even if hell did not exist, make one and then go to it. (Or I guess it would really be the other way around? 😜)
But you know, Musk fucking off to Mars is also okay with me. Better there then here anyway.
Okay so what happens when they take all of Earth's most precious resources with them when they leave... you know what, fuck it we ball, let's roll out!
That depends, is the planet Mogo or Ego? I'd feel pretty good if Mogo were our nearest celestial neighbor. Alternatively it means a poorly buried giant, next we find out Transformers are real, Mars just used to be filled with Energon and the war depleted it. Granted a face that large, could imply Unicron, which is also a problem.
I am so fucking annoyed by Microsoft lately. Their mulitstep security that sometimes makes you repeat all the steps randomly. The pain if you have to use multiple accounts. That is almost all for work. And as a teacher, it takes too much time to do these things while trying to run a class, while also having to use a phone to authenticate! Such bullshit!
Uh oh, nuance and subtlety detected - in the direction opposing the approved echo chamber opinion (may it live forever, and which definitely has clothes on), Lemmy will now commence the downvote brigade.
Oh shoot I almost forgot to preemptively throw up my own protective defenses - "I do solemly declare that Microsoft is an evil corporation, named after a soft dick, which must be opposed by all means necessary... and henceforth pledge to only use (Arch) Linux forevermore." (Ha! As if we all weren't already doing that!🤪 Right!? R-right!!?!! R-r-right???)

2 different versions of outlook that don't work for some reason.
Fuck new outlook btw

It's an abomination. (And kinda shitty that it's yet another web app, you can copy the link for the background graphics even... so stupid)

Don't worry, we've already established that Outlook doesn't work in space.

It's not much of a surprise, since it doesn't work on Earth either.

Fun fact, that big gash is called Valles Marineris and it's the deepest canyon in the solar system.
There's probably nothing scary in there...

why not? is there some local anomaly that causes gravity not to work?
PlaneMaker@feddit.org · 5 pts · 2d
I wouldn’t consider this as falling, but i get your point, i don’t see why sinking shouldn’t also be falling
I should have specified: at least you won’t die from the impact

It's definitely the largest canyon, if I'm reading Wiki right. It's over 4km long and 200 wide, compared to the Grand Canyon at 277km long and 29 wide
