My cat literally expects us to be awake at a certain time and will keep meowing us until we awake. I noticed if I don’t wake up my cat will make sure I do.
Here I thought I was the only one. At about 10:30 he'll get up and and look for a human to accompany him upstairs for teeth brushing and blanket service. When the humans he finds are a bit slow, he'll stand in the most annoying way 35 kilos of street dog can stand. I can't explain, but he manages to convey the message by just standing around in the general vicinity of his chosen service person that night until you move, then he walks ahead of you a few steps upstairs, bathroom, teeth brush, bedroom, his corner, blanket over dog please, deep sigh, paw stretching.
My horse insists that I play music while we hang out. She knows it comes from my phone and if I take my phone out, she'll fiddle with it with her lips until I turn in music.
She loves when I sing and I'm so glad I'm usually there alone because I'd be embarrassed if anyone heard me serenading the horses lmao.
I recently got a lyre and I'm gonna learn how to play it for all the horses
The kitten has very specific needs and places for affection times. She is not a lap cat. Heaven forbid. But she'll walk into the living room right in front of me and then flop onto her side. This is where I am to get onto my hands and knees above her, roll her onto her back, and rub her head and kiss her belly. She purrs like a train. I love her very silly ass.
Our cat kneads my husband's arm when it's bedtime. Right arm, never the left one. It must remain outside the covers and easily accessible, but not moving, until said cat has decided he's done kneading it. This usually takes about ten minutes. No one is allowed to pet the cat while this is happening, or interrupt the kneading in any way.
My cat also has a very healthy bedtime, but I'm a night owl. So I'll turn the lights off after 10pm, light up small LED candles, let my cat sleep on my lap, and try not moving too much. After sometime I'll have to wake her up, then we go cuddling together under the duvet. She'll get up early without waking me up. The best friend I ever have.
My pup gets upset if I'm not home before dark. My partner works from home and gives me updates on how angry the pup is, as soon as the sun starts to set. This dog sits and stares at the front door, tiny ears quivering as he grumbles.
Anyways, I obey my curfew. (He's fine if I get home then leave.)
We used to have a cat who hid all night in the bedroom when company was over, which she didn't like at all. Around 11 PM, she'd come out and sit opposite the guests and just glare at them. The first time it happened, a good friend looked at her and said "Oh, look! She came out! Oh...and she's definitely telling us to get the fuck out!"
I was convinced that she believed she was communicating telepathically, just because we could read her expressions and know what she wanted. As far as she was concerned, she was controlling us with her superior advanced brain.
no, i'll just say cat. if they know my cat (it's the one we have to open the door and guard when he/we poop/s don't get me started) they've probably experienced it at game night or something
Your cat wants you to stand guard while he poops? I thought my cat was the only one lol but he only wants that when others are at our house. He's not well socialized since we got him during the 2020 Panini
Mine demands breakfast between 3 and 6am. Then about an hour later she requires that I get up and sit with her, on the floor, next to her cat door. There is a couch near by. But No. We sit on the floor and look out the 5x5 inch cat door window and I pet her until she gets "scratchy bitey" and I go clean my wounds and go back to bed. I'm not that into this routine, but I love her so...
I was just telling a friend about my how cat was so annoyed today I wasn't sitting at my usual desk. He was yelling and standing on it until I sat down. Now he's snoozing in my lap, at the desk, as intended for this time of day.
My bunnies know they get fresh hay before I go upstairs to bed. My boy bun will run back and forth between looking at me and looking down the hall to the garage where his hay is. My girl bun will hop on the couch and glare at me with her adorable look of disappointment. They tell me to go to bed so they get food lol
We had a cat that used to like to go for a walk around the corner and back, just so she could show us off to the housebound cats. She knew where they all lived, and she'd get their attention by ringing her bell until they came to window.
One night we were intensely writing and editing some work stuff, and she started crying for her walk, and we told her we didn't have time tonight.
So she went outside and brought back in a dead mouse for us. I scooped it up, and took us all out for a walk, dropping the dead mouse in the trash can on the way.
My dog has worked one over on my parents. She won't eat until she gets a treat from my Dad (the appertif, I like to call it), and then she'll eat her food and go over to my Mom and she won't leave her alone until she gives her more treats for dessert.
If this routine is disrupted, she makes a big fuss.
You may want to re-term the treat as an hors d'œuvre or amuse-bouche... Unless your dad is really passing alcohol to your little buddy. Either way, she's being properly spoiled and the courses should expand as her palette develops.
My cat sleeps whenever he's tired or when I go to sleep. He's a proximity cat, so he'll be snoozing nearby depending on where in the house I am. If I go to bed, he's going to go to bed too.
He also doesn't wake me up. The auto feeder gets him food, so I can stay asleep without having to worry about him getting fed. Usually when I wake up he'll be in the mini cat tree or under the bed.
They are all proximity cats and we love it. They each have their thing when we go to bed. Usually 2-3 sleep with us, it's a treat when we get 4 or 5. And they each have their own specific "spots" they gravitate towards.
Thankfully I'm a any of a cat behavior nerd and have gotten them to all leave us alone in the morning regarding food, there is one that will annoy me in the morning, but it's because she's wants cuddles, aggressively (She'll straight up chomp me, actually bite me, if I ignore her sometimes)
They could also just have one of the big breeds like a skogkatt or a Maine coon which can easily get a lot heavier than that without being unhealthy at all
Also own a 21lb cat. He is just big. But also a little overweight.
He's on a diet with automatic feeder, but he has massive food anxiety. (We found him as a starving kitten) So we can only reduce his intake to the point of maintaining weight. If we restrict it too much, he stresses out and overgrooms himself to the point of bleeding 😔
my dog won't herd us to bed, she just disappears and curls up in the dark alone on the bed
it's funny when we're staying at somebody else's place and instead of doing the usual dog thing and wanting to be around everyone (which she did lots of earlier), she just quietly disappears to pass out
Like how my boy dog refuses to eat out of a bowl, and he insists on pushing his food around, so we downgraded to a trough. (Pretty sure it's because his whiskers are over-sensitive.)

Granted my cat is plenty annoying an hour before it's time to get up, but I certainly don't encourage this behavior.
The most I do to appease him is call him to the bed, where even though he can, he won't jump up, I've gotta reach over and put him on the bed.
Ok maybe I'm trained too..
