Funnily enough, I saw this meme earlier, and thought it was an AI rendering of the world's fastest manhole cover. Then I scrolled Lemmy, and here I am.
Anyway, here's how the pictures compare in any image editor (the darker the more identical the pixel):
Notice that I lined the UFO up, but the skyline is now all out of whack, which seems to be a lot of work to give to oneself if all you wanted to do was add 4 words. Similarly, I can line up parts of the skyline, but now the UFO is at the wrong place:
In conclusion: I am pretty sure it was done with AI.
You cannot align the cranes left of the explosion AND the warehouse to the right AND the smokestacks at the far right either, they, or rather it, moved random parts of the skyline around.
It's probably a floating roof. In the petro they use this for several reasons. Less contact between the product and air reduces oxidation. There is also less gass formed above the product reducing odour. But funny enough, it is mainly used to reduce risk of explosion ...

My basis is that in game theory if you want to disincetivise a behaviour you need to keep harming agents that take that action (negative reinforcement), but I suppose that doesn't apply here bc the Ukrainian signalling is about invading Ukraine, not the environment.
There is the additional factor that this reduces the output of oil power plants, creating more demand for electricity, so there's now a better opportunity for someone to build renewables to get more profits. I suppose you could also build something else, switch back to coal? Lmao

An arch or dome made of stone would instantly fall apart if flipped upside down. A steel one will perform just as well, as steel is isotropic.

IIRC, the lid can move up and down depending on how much content there's in the tank. Something something provides pressure if it's a gas.
