Republican - “We want to hunt Democrats!”

Democrat - “WTF?!”

Republican - “Why are Democrats so violent in their rhetoric? This is why bad things happen.”

lennybird@lemmy.world · 80 pts · 44d (81 replies)

Enlightened centrist and tankie - "both sides!"

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · -48 pts · 44d (80 replies)

Which side was against the Gaza genocide?

Katana314@lemmy.world · 45 pts · 44d (37 replies)

My clear answer: Some (not enough) of the Democrats, none of the Republicans.

She's MTG. She's not against genocide. She's against Jews.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · -4 pts · 44d

Broken clock, etc.

rafoix@lemmy.zip · 14 pts · 44d (5 replies)

MTG quit congress so that she has zero ability to do anything about it.

Republicans 100% understand what they’re doing. They lie. That’s their job. The second their job doesn’t depend on keeping an obese pedophile happy they can start expressing themselves more honestly.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · -4 pts · 44d (4 replies)

And 99% of the dems didn't lie about the Gaza genocide for 3 years?

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 44d

At least with the Dems we had a president who was openly stating his disapproval and trying to help broker a peace deal, a subset of the Democrat party that was very vocally against what was happening, and a shit ton of very angry liberal voters.

Now we have a president sucking Netanyahu's cock while cracking jokes about opening resorts on stolen land while every single congressional Republican and conservative voter claps while on their knees.

Oops.

A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip · 12 pts · 44d (1 reply)

So now MTG is the whole "side"... clearly indicated by her still being part of the whole MAGA thing and Trump loving her so much, right?

Disclaimer: I'm still not fond of her. Not even a bit. She's just a broken-clock-being-right-twice-a-day type of person.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · -2 pts · 44d

They said zero, I corrected them.

MTG isn't a sitting member of Congress, her opinion is irrelevant; AOC still is a lawmaker.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · -2 pts · 44d (11 replies)

She was when she said that..

lennybird@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 44d

Yet AOC said it, and she's still a Rep, destined for the US Senate or Presidency :)

Their point still stands, untouched.

Also, AOC isn't an antisemite unlike MTG so that's nice.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 43d

This is absolutely not misinformation and whatever mod removed this is denying objective reality lol.

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 44d (2 replies)

Every single liberal was. Some just didn't possess enough brain cells to vote Democrat to avoid abject fascism. So here we are.

Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 44d

That's just ahistorical. The Democratic party's achmowledgement of the genocide has been very slowand gradual over the past 3 years, despite Dem voters being almost unified in the first or 2nd year.

silentjohn@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 43d

Everybody should read One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This. We are almost at that point. Back in 2023-2024, multiple millions of liberals and democrats were willing to genocide Gaza. After all, "If Kamala won, we'd all be at brunch, right?"

Everbody now is pretending to be against Israel and the genocide. The Dem platform in 2023-2024 was specifically/explicitly to continue the genocide.

I can't stop thinking about the uptick in lynchings in the South.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 22 pts · 44d (3 replies)

in various forms, many murders of AA are likely gone undereported, or very little convictions, probably also doesnt hit the news at all, to not disturb the narrative of the south. we also know msms in general dont allow POC crimes to air more than few days to weeks at the most.

BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 44d

I think it's like that Zimmerman case. It hits the news every now and then, but it's really a strange fluke when it does.

Thanks to modern surveillance that they built they were easier to identify. That is the whole point behind all that surveillance. For all we know the number of serial killers didn't drop since the 90s but have chugged along as normal, but they no longer care since it is a passé topic and their surveillance ignores it.

ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online · 4 pts · 44d

This is why people like Matt Walsh's videos defending lynching are not free speech. They are calls to action to murder absolutely anyone they do not like to terrorize the rest. If someone like Matt took a bullet to the head like Charlie Kirk, whoever did it should be able to plead self-defense. Even if they broke into his house and shot him while he was sleeping.

Basically he is calling for people to do far worse than that and prison is a mercy for him.

Exactly. They said he would have created hundreds of southern martyrs and bolstered their guerrilla resolve... Good. He should have fucked them as hard as humanly possible and beyond.

If the south had moved up north far enough they would have razed Philadelphia and New York City to the ground and made the massacres national holidays.

I used to think people were generally good, and bad things happening was the exception.

Not anymore, everyone is capable of bad things, but especially the sociopaths in charge who don't care about anything bit themselves.

I should have learned that lesson in high school when slavery was taught. We haven't evolved from that. We just got better at hiding it in prisons.

AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 43d (1 reply)

And we're those sociopaths in charge ALWAYS sociopaths? Is that why they were drawn to the position to begin with? Or did they start off well-intentioned? Could YOU turn into someone like that if you were elected to a similar position?

Love these questions

NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 43d

There's a ton of research that people drawn to these positions score high on dark triad personality traits. It's definitely them being sociopaths with anti-personality disorder.

Obviously circumstances can turn someone into a psychopath, but that's not what's happening here with people who have a ton of money. They just lack empathy, which is something people tend to have less of the more money they have.

And it doesn't matter if it's because they secured their positions with voter suppression and election rigging, or because the opposing party is so despicable that no one votes for them.

Alkali@lemmy.ml · 15 pts · 44d

Because at one point in US history hunting black people was an accepted institutional practice. While their are scenarios where it occured with other groups, the implied threat is a return to slavery like conditions for "democrats."

But if it makes you feel better, I'm sure racist white people will try to reintegrate those other groups as less than human too.

You can do your lesser evil shit all you want, that candidate won’t change the future of America any further than a Republican can undo it in 4-6 years. Real change isn’t this pretend, small-game shit. Democrats have won time and time again since Bush Sr, and we’ve had war after war after war with bipartisan support for laws that give less than they take for the benefit of billionares. The current Democratic party isn’t a separate choice, it’s a choice to lock Republican rhetoric in a box until they inevitably get out again. Your party is no more effective at ridding the world of fascism than Ash Ketchum is at defeating Team Rocket. Maybe we all need a firm reminder that Trump and Bush didn’t actually win their elections, yet were calmly allowed to move right on in anyway. Who opened the door? Biden opened one of them, and he had six months of Presidential immunity leading up to it. Hillary was pushing spyware campaigns, Obama was drone-striking and Bernie wants Ai in your 401k. Who do they work for? You? Doesn’t sound like it.

Found another person screaming into the wind about a 2-party system that isn't changing anytime remotely soon so their whining really means nothing.

Another person that doesn't grasp that within the reality they live in that isn't changing anytime soon it is absolutely better to vote for damage reduction, or, you know, the party that is always better when it comes to our economy and human rights and social safety nets.

You should come back once you've helped make a 3rd party viable in every individual state in our nation so that they'd actually have a chance of controlling our federal government someday in an imaginary distant future.
