Now, some say I could just keep it inside my house, but really it broke containment when I decided to leave it on bank-robbing-mode and left the house for a week.
Israel uses fully autonomous killbots that use llm's and computers to make targeting decisions. Supposedly a person is in the loop, but I would be shocked if they haen't systematically testing them on all full auto.
Why would they bother keeping a human in the loop? Once it's over Palestinian territory there are no wrong targets anyway, let the clanker do its thing and tune it for maximum destruction afterwards.
and I’m certain they don’t check for nearby children
What??? Why wouldn't they check for nearby children? Israel loves two things: doing genocides and killing children. How else are they going to keep the score? Gotta make the number go up!
Those kinds of people won't care unless you specify that it specifically bombs white children or rapes white people (actually, they probably won't care about the rape either).
That's because empathy is not inherent to being human, but is a concept that must be taught, and it is against the interests of the elite to teach empathy to the masses, so they do their best to try to divide us instead so that we can be conquered easier.
When the masses are empathetic, the masses will organize.
Here's the thing... AI is just a convenient layer of obfuscation. Without the layer, those in power would just do it anyway and still rarely be held accountable.
While I have mostly negative feelings toward AI and would rather remove any potential layers of obfuscation so that the public can better see the reality firnwhat it is, the powerful need to be held to account directly. Targeting AI for this kind of thing is just a distraction Putting the focus on AI alone is what they'd want.
And my point is that their point is to minimize the bank robbing robots.
Both things are a problem, the people behind the robots infinitely moreso, but to not minimize the tools of the oppressors. Like blaming the US Gov and ignoring the nuclear bomb.
My inspiration was actually more that the powerful can get away with fucking over the population and blaming it on agents. If the average person used agents to rob a wealthy person, the agents excuse will be worth fuck all.
It's true for every type of societal issue. Let's just assume that for every problem, number one thing that we need to do is eat the rich hold the powerful accountable. But while we figure out how to do that, let's at least not ignore the actual smaller problem that we're dealing with.
A house is on fire because of poor regulations and corruption, poor regulations and corruption needs to be dealt with for sure. A house is on fire though, so it's also important to deal with.
I agree and also disagree. I'm not saying ignore it. Just be aware that there will almost always be an array distracting "smaller problems". I just advise we not spend so much time focusing on smaller problems that the root cause is ignored. Just don't let them be chaff.
The main thing is that they want you to keep talking about it. Even if it's negative press, it's still press. Just whatever you do...don't quit talking about it! That's why I have trouble even making a comment like this. I feel like I'm still feeding into it somehow.
Yeah. Whether these "AI" bots/systems/agents are doing good or bad things, its usually presented as impressive and/or important and fuels the AI hype train.

I was thinking today while driving my 30 year old car to town, what would happen if I somehow tricked an AI to use its spare capacity to mine crypto, and it somehow became a worm that all AI data centres picked up, resulting in me getting a nice wallet. And the AI company has no issues with copying the repos of the sloppers. They literally just use their snoop ability to grab whatever "improvements" people using their platform's harness "develop".
So. If you were to make a particularly good at "tokenmaxing" approach targeting one of their platforms, just catnip fill it with all of the other Holy Grails these chuds are always chasing, and it gets popular enough, it just might make its way to those internal testing repos tainted code and all, if it's extremely subtle enough...
Well the guys that made computer programs to stream their own bullshit songs they put on places like spotify millions of times and earn real money in accumulated royalties were hunted down and charged under serious federal crimes.
Wire fraud is their go to in cases like this, it's really broad. Any sort of scheme or dishonesty that involves the mail or a wire can convict you of that 4 year felony let alone everything else.

I've got news for you, Lemmy is not some super obscure underground platform. Yeah it's a bit too convoluted for a lot of super casual social media users, which helps keep the content well-curated, but it's publicly indexed and easily findable and definitely also being crawled for AI training.
There's a difference between feeding it to the slop machine willingly (if maybe unknowingly if they don't read TOS / follow news) and it being stolen illegally by evilcorps.
The small web is a thing and if you don't want to pay with your data ("free") there are ways to get your stuff online without it getting too technical.
It's not quite equivalent. While I 100% agree it's pretty fucked to do this with AI, and obviously it has to get the source material somewhere. The law is the law and you being upset, triggered, or have some traumatic relapse means absolutely dick. If someone draws kiddie porn, it's perfectly legal (although fucking disgusting) but still legal, even if they used a kid they saw while shooing for groceries. AI is being treated the same way, it's generating (drawing) based on what it's learned, the same way a pedo creeper would.
So to approach AI generated pedo porn being illegal you'd need to approach drawing it is illegal, in which case it would be nearly impossible. Since (someone) drew it they could always argue that they just look young and there's no real way to prove it unless they outright admit it, which isn't happening.
Like I said, the shit is fucked up, but LEGALLY it's legal and a grey area at best no matter how anyone feels about it.
Edit. If down voting me makes you feel better, go for it. I'm just explaining to you why it went the way that it did regardless of how you feel about. I'm sorry if you're upset by how things are handled. Like I said, if you feel better and can't handle the truth of how it was handled and why it was decided that then I'm sorry down vote me so you feel like you're doing something productive and I'm a bad person for explaining it.
To your first point, it's actually not legal, and possessing even drawn cp has been treated as a similar crime (which imo is incredibly stupid).
In the case of AI, the training data often included real CSAM material, so it's more like I viewed csam (illegal) then drew it from memory (still illegal but less so).
Humans are given the benefit of "I gathered this data and created a new thing out of it" because that's beneficial to humans. I'm not going to say that humans creating something is magically different from how an AI does, but it's training on often stolen data and/or throttling tons of websites to scrape their data against the wishes of the hosters. It's like if I steal a movie and then make my own movie slightly based on it, the problem isn't my movie, it's the process to get to it (and that it's a human who is benefitting from the result).
The money in a Bank isn't yours, never was. You pay for it that the Bank give you somewhat of it. Using an bot to rob a Bank isn't really not the worst you can do with AI.
