Bloodhound Gang, Blink 182, Sum 41, Sublime, Men Without Hats, They Might Be Giants, Tenacious D, Ugly Kid Joe, Green Jelly / Jello, The Dead Milkmen, Dee Lite, Squeeze.
There's also songs that may have been initially inspired by a certain other artist but strayed far enough to be basically completely original, such as Albuquerque and (possibly my favorite Weird Al song of them all) Hardware Store.
Not to mention the polkas, which is what I really had in mind when I was talking about him making other genres rock.
Also, The Presidents of the United States of America.
The song "More Bad Times" came on my Spotify radio playlist a few years back. I had never heard the song before. I was dying of laughter. I was not at all prepared for a song that silly.
Hands down my favorite band ever (though, Faith No More could claim that spot depending on my mood.). Put their entire library on shuffle and you'd think you're listening to multiple bands. Extremely talented musicians, quirky songs, fun compositions, and a variety and uniqueness rarely found coming from one band.
I love how cheerful TMBG can make just about anything sound, regardless of- or maybe BECAUSE of subject matter. Except for them, I wouldn’t expect someone singing something like “I destroyed the bond of friendship and respect Between the only people left who'd even look me in the eye” to make me wanna dance
They played to a crowd of about 30 people and were the only English-speaking band on the bill. Flansburgh: "We thought it would be a hippie gathering kind of thing, but it was actually a meeting of Sandinistas."
The show was free, and ran from 12pm to 5pm. It was one of the hottest days of the year in New York City. The band's next show took place seven months later, in the middle of a heavy snowstorm.
Ghost (Ghost B.C. in the UK) is very silly. Guys dressed in corpsepaint clergy, sounding like a hodgepodge of 70's/80's hits you missed. They got lore too, which is appropriately silly.
Electric Callboy is silly. They are... Like, deathcore mixed with whatever they feel like for that song. We Got the Moves is deathcore with a bit of hard bass, for example. And it's a song about partying. Pump It is about going to the gym. Spaceman is about a guy going to space and rapping in german. Honestly one of my favourite bands.
Wind Rose is silly as hell. Bearded guys, singing about dwarf stuff. They covered Diggy Diggy Hole and blew up, and props to them because their version is a banger, but they got good original stuff too which is sadly overlooked because Diggy Diggy Hole was just that good.
Powerwolf is another one, similar to Ghost. They're vampiric werewolves? And their songs are all in-keeping with that theme. Power metal though, unlike Ghost.
Austrian Death Machine is also silly. Voice actors emulating Arnold while the vocalist growls about lifting weights, the cookie monster, jingle bells, getting to the choppah, etc. The vocalist's history has kind of soured the band for me though.
Gnome is underrated. Their songs are simplistic as hell, and none of them are virtuosos. But their songs go hard. Wenceslas is great, Ambrosius as well. Edit: writing this gave me an earworm and went down Gnome's songs. Their bassist is a goddamn genius. Simple licks that sound great, and they got weird time sig changes here and there that tickle my brain in the best ways. I can't figure out if they are actual time sig changes or just weird changes, and I love that.
Nanowar of Steel is great too. Who else would make a Rhapsody of Fire tribute/parody, make it about Barbie, and then get the original Rhapsody singer to do lead vocals.
Back on topic, Haken love some goofy stuff, and there's always primus, who do very little serious (but it's been a few decades, I'm out of date! I loved too many puppies )
Igorrr is always a scream, very noise would be a great example.
I fell like hip-hop often is irreverent or silly, and I'm not thinking of just satirical acts like Goldie lookin chain (although they are classic ), but the herbaliser were regularly entertaining, often more than just samples
Mos def wrote some absolute bangers (under a few names), here's a great example where it's been mashed up with Marvin gaye and absolutely bounces along
For something a bit dancier, Marmaduke duke were often a giggle

I honestly think their version is not as good as Toto’s. Their cover closely matches the style of the original and they aren’t as good musicians. I was hoping they would make it a Weezer style cover. Toto’s version of Hash Pipe is better than Weezer’s too.
Fun fact: My employer paid for my plane ticket and hotel stay that evening. It "just so happened" that I had something to do at the head office at the same time my two favorite artists were performing nearby.. sure, I had something work-related to do, but my timing was no accident.
UPDATE: Looks like Dream Theater will be in the area again in November. Sounds like it's time for a department-wide meeting, don't you think?
Mr Bungle. The singer from faith no more. Apparently he liked hiding his turds in ventilation ducs in the hotels while he was on tour. Also made fun of the other lead singer of RHCP.
He thought Mike Patton was biting his style! I recently watched the video for Epic and I can kind of see what Kiedis is saying but honestly RHCP never had a hit like Epic before it was released. Mother’s Milk was released a few months later.
This is a great answer. They not only have a couple of goofy songs like Boris but also let their goofball personalities shine like on the album (The Who Sell Out?) that has the little ad jingles and the cover with Townsend using a giant deodorant stick and Daltrey in a bathtub full of baked beans.
Any time drummer Tré Cool takes the stage at a Green Day show, you’re in for a treat. Dominated Love Slave is his signature, but there’s also Like a Rat Does Cheese which is unreleased and All By Myself closes Dookie.
Peter Gabriel era Genesis was pretty goofy, as well as some of his solo stuff.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is pretty much the goofiest band known to man right now; especially if you listen to their earlier stuff like Cellophane or Vegemite.

Okay, unironically have you heard of Gangstagrass? They did the theme for Justified, and I think they're based in Nashville, but they fuse bluegrass with hip-hop and goddamn does it sound amazing. It's like purely American I love it.
Wall of Voodoo is such a great band! After Stan left, they still put out 2 studio albums that are so distinctly them, but also unique from their previous releases.
Im more a stan ridgeway fan than wall of voodoo. I remember picking up a cassette way back and was very disapointed and did not understand what happened. Its only decades later that I found out. Its like tull and ian anderson for me even though the band has never not had him hes pretty much the influence I like. ironically im not wild about his solo stuff. I find he really needs some good artists to keep him grounded. Stan on the other hand, I like his solo stuff.
Maybe Beck? Que’ Onda Guero always makes me giggle.
And, a bit of a different genre but Father John Misty’s songs are sarcastic and often nonsensical. They sound all romantic and dreamy but the lyrics don’t always match the vibe.
I thought of another one. That band Bloodhound Gang has some goofy songs. Obviously they have that one over-played song, but they also have a song that is just Ralph Wiggins quotes.
Thank You Scientist are seriously talented musicians who make very complex music, but don't take themselves seriously and have fun with their performances.
I second most of these other recommendations, but since I haven't seen them said yet, The Magnetic Fields. Somehow manages to be funny while also being very geniune and touching, which I think is kind of what I look for in a band.
Captain Sensible. He was the guitarist for the punk band The Damned, but had a #1 hit in the UK with "Happy Talk", a song from the 1949 musical South Pacific.

This is a great answer. They not only have a couple of goofy songs like Boris but also let their goofball personalities shine like on the album (The Who Sell Out?) that has the little ad jingles and the cover with Townsend using a giant deodorant stick and Daltrey in a bathtub full of baked beans.

Peter Gabriel era Genesis was pretty goofy, as well as some of his solo stuff.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is pretty much the goofiest band known to man right now; especially if you listen to their earlier stuff like Cellophane or Vegemite.

Megan thee stallion, cardi b, and the like sing some raunchy songs.
Bbno$, yung gravy, lil dicky, flynt flossy and the entire turquoise jeep records collection of artists are humor-forward
Then theres czarface which has made many albums all about comic book characters.

It’s a damn fine performance, but the funniest part was that back in the days of Napster & Limewire, everyone just assumed that it was Phish covering the song.

Okay, unironically have you heard of Gangstagrass? They did the theme for Justified, and I think they're based in Nashville, but they fuse bluegrass with hip-hop and goddamn does it sound amazing. It's like purely American I love it.

There’s also “SlamGrass” out there as a genre. I’ve only had the chance to see O’ Death, but I really dig their tune, “Only Daughter”.

Im more a stan ridgeway fan than wall of voodoo. I remember picking up a cassette way back and was very disapointed and did not understand what happened. Its only decades later that I found out. Its like tull and ian anderson for me even though the band has never not had him hes pretty much the influence I like. ironically im not wild about his solo stuff. I find he really needs some good artists to keep him grounded. Stan on the other hand, I like his solo stuff.

Maybe Beck? Que’ Onda Guero always makes me giggle.
And, a bit of a different genre but Father John Misty’s songs are sarcastic and often nonsensical. They sound all romantic and dreamy but the lyrics don’t always match the vibe.
