Black Americans are the only demographic that massively voted against the pedonald. They are responsible of almost everything americans takes pride in. In music, they invented blues, rock, jazz, techo, hip-hop and much more. In sports, they are the top athletes in many disciplines. In politics, you may not be a fan of Obama's politics overall, but he was by far the least crazy president USA had over the past 40 years. All of this while being treated as sub-citizens.

Appalachia has always been a coalition of rejects just trying to survive. the daughters of the confederacy have corrupted many communities into misunderstanding their local history. but my homeland cannot be free until every Black person is free, regardless of where they are or where they're from.

True Rednecks, the kind that understand that the red bandana represents a coalition of Native Americans, Black people, and white working class folk, are the future of Appalachia. it's just a lot of people aren't knowing that yet.

Just to piggy back off of this, I want to recommend a really wonderful book called What You're Getting Wrong About Appalachia by Elizabeth Catte

It's an introduction to the region, its history and culture, and its highly extractive relationship to the rest of the United States.

There's also a whole chapter dedicated to ripping JD Vance's Hillbilly Elegy to shreds, which is incredibly satisfying

For techno, who you must be referring to is "The Belleville Three"; but they actually got their inspiration from a German band called "Kraftwerk" that was making techno music.

I was indeed thinking of the Detroit school (this city is something else when it comes to music). I'm actually a huge Kraftwerk fan (Trans-Europe Express man, what an album) but although they're definitely pioneers and inspiration of almost every electronic music genre, I wouldn't qualify them as techno artists. They're more a synth-pop / kraut/experimental band, with a lot a vocals and usually slower tempo than proper techno. Same goes with house music, I always thought it was a German thing, but it's actually another Black American subgenre born in Chicago.

That said, if we really want to go back to the origin of electronic music and instruments, we would be in Germany (sound synthesis) and France (sampling) in the 50s and 60s with the work the elctroacoustic / musique concrete composers like Stockhausen and Pierre Henry (check out Messe pour le Temps Présent, absolut classic). I am totally passionate by all this and actually teach in music history and sound creation at a College in Montreal.

Yes, Kraftwerk and other Kraut rock bands were an inspiration to all forms of electronic music but what they were doing was not at all techno.

when dealing with ice a semi auto shotgun has a useful purpose: knock em back without killing. but i will point out the man with the shotgun was bracketed by a man holding a 7.62 and a man carrying a 5.56. there's clearly more consideration and coordination going on here. you're absolutely right about what's best for the average person, who i presume is not yet a member of a community defense group, but once you're in a community defense group, take a listen to what the whole group needs more of.

Yeah but it's improperly worn most of the time. Most of them have basic ass gun range beginner shooting stances that expose their unprotected sides to who they're facing (You're supposed aim with your chest square with the target when wearing armor)

Even with billions of dollars on hand they're still too cheap to get ++size armor and carriers for their extra big boys. Once paramilitary organisation is given full permission to do whatever they want regardless of the law, that's kind of it, really. Philly in the state known as Pennsyltucky, where historically, they had the biggest KKK organization in America.

Philly is extremely diverse, with black folk in all levels of politics. Police still wear crosses. But Philly also has a lot of punk and fuck you energy.

I hung out with a guy online from Philly for a couple years. He was blue collar, laid tile. Union. Brother was a police officer. Other brother was military stationed in Japan. Father also in the union.

He was edgy at first, but became a lot more willing to show his true colors. After a while, it became evident that while he would never admit to being MAGA, he would repeat MAGA talking points all the time. Eventually we got into it and stopped hanging out.

He only had bad things to say about POC and Philly. Talked about the fentanyl issue, would clench his teeth talking about POC, had a pistol and would go for it every time he saw someone suspicious on his home camera when it was just someone walking by or parking their car. Absolutely unhinged. His family reinforced his beliefs, and they were even more racist than he was.

Anyway, my anecdote is just to say that these blue collar guys from the burbs of major cities are dangerous, hateful, and often violent people. They blame minorities for everything wrong with the city.

There used to be something called the White Panthers. Thankfully, not a KKK branch; it was basically just the white faction of the Black Panthers.

We might need them even more: part of the reason most black communities have stayed silent is because even peacefully protesting (while black) is enough for racist America to see it as a riot and demand the National Guard.

The former Philadelphia eagles stadium had a jail in it because fans would get so drunk and rowdy. They have to grease the light poles when the eagles win a super bowl to prevent people from climbing them. I wonder what ratio of protesters + guns is enough to deter ICE.

Like if there was only 1 person there with a semi automatic shotgun, how much more likely are they to attempt something illegal than if there was 20.

If that ratio could be figured out, then it'd be easier to coordinate and ensure enough armed people are everywhere.

Substance of the video aside, does anyone know this group's relationship with the actual historical Panthers? My understanding was that the original Panthers were dissolved at some point?

I don't think this calls their legitimacy/validity into question, I'm mostly just curious.

There are a number of modern panthers orgs that claim to represent a continuation of the historic panthers. Though they range from actual Maoist Communists to weird Black Israelite types
