The only one I know (and this is 20 year old info, so it may not even still be accurate), in China it's 12. And women don't even have the right to say no to sex.
I thought it was insane. Then years later I learned it's because China at the time had a 1 child only rule. And every family wanted a boy. So much so that if they had a girl, they'd abandon it in the street, claim there never was a girl, and just abandon her. Then keep going until they got a boy.
So my takeaway is that in China, they really have zero respect for the existence of women.
This is wild and deserves a down vote. A 60 second look on Google would show everything you've said about women's rights is wrong. It's 14, in China it appears it's never been 12.and there are many laws covering women's right to consent.

A persons inability to differentiate between slightly progressive policies and communism, is a gigantic blood red flag indicating that they are a trash person and not worth talking to.
The most fair but unfavourable (according to them) interpretation of his policies would be socialist, to be a communist he would have to have been a dictator who seized power with force rather than democratically elected. But honestly it's debatable about whether or not the policies he is proposing go far enough to really be in the realm of socialist. It's basically just left wing progressive.
If it weren't for the fact that he was American no one would be batting an eye. Come to Europe and say those things and everyone would be "well yeah, obviously".
The one thing that communism and dictatorship have in common is that the one pretty much requires a revolution and the other often appears after a revolution.
They have similar origin stories.
The problem with revolutions is that revolutions need a strong man to rally around who can quickly make decisions without compromise and who is in close to complete power. A democratic revolution would not happen, since it's not fast and decisive enough. But when the revolution is done and that same strongman is still in power, and he gets to decide how the new government is run, only very few of them are capable of handing the power over to a democratic government. And if you run a government like a revolution we tend to call that dictatorship.
Communism is revolutionary, Socialism can be reformative.
In the context of the United States, Democratic Socialism is perfectly compatible with the constitution and the ideals of freedom and democracy; Communism, on the other hand, requires overthrowing the existing institutions which make it incompatible.
Most historical "Communist" movements are vanguardist, and vanguardism doesn't end well, they end up being authoritarian.
I wouldn't call it a coincidence that western capitalist states, especially the US, would do some pretty heavy lifting to convince all of their people that any actually existing socialist state is, or would invariably become, a dictatorship and horrible to live under. Socialism and capitalism are fundamentally opposed to one another; pretty much every aspect of US governance and recognized media is fully controlled by, rabidly anti-communist, capitalists. They made absolutely sure of that in the red scare when they literally purged people from any position of influence simply for having any affinity for communism.
If Mamdani is a communist, he's clearly the least ambitious communist that I've ever heard of. What he's asking for is just basic services of a city to work and be affordable.

Do you think he had to refund a few tickets? I don't think it could have been too many, seeing as New York has a relatively progressive population, which probably means there were just a few people who wanted to go and actually spent the money to obtain access to the show.

For the blues, he's some sort of saviour and proof that democracy in America can actually work as intended, and isn't just something between entertainment and PR. You need a protagonist and an antagonist to build a narrative, after all. But the system never worked in your favour and nobody in power has any morals or virtue (else they'd just get taken out, lol, you think the CIA is above that?). And the population either doesn't care or doesn't notice because they themselves are iffy, their cultural baggage came with everything but belief in objective morality and virtuous duty to the rest of humanity. How do you think they gained and maintain their wealth?! Kid Rock ruined the re-watch factor of "Joe Dirt" for me. The only music related stuff I've ever seen/heard from him is a cameo in that Nickleback "I Wanna Be A Rockstar" music video. At least I think that was him. Oh no! What are we going to do?! Anyway...

For the reds, Mamdani is all the redscare, islamophobe and racist things they've been told to hate. For the blues, he's some sort of saviour and proof that democracy in America can actually work as intended, and isn't just something between entertainment and PR. You need a protagonist and an antagonist to build a narrative, after all. But the system never worked in your favour and nobody in power has any morals or virtue (else they'd just get taken out, lol, you think the CIA is above that?). And the population either doesn't care or doesn't notice because they themselves are iffy, their cultural baggage came with everything but belief in objective morality and virtuous duty to the rest of humanity. The "all that matters is the bag and my pleasure; death, rape and pillaging is acceptable if I get what I want" (how do you think the country was created? How do you think they gained and maintain their wealth?! It doesn't matter if you say you're A when all you do is B, stop lying to yourselves, please) culture will never breed respectable people in enough quantities, if they happen to exist there its by accident, and none will reach a position of power.
They tried dark skin with Obama but they can't do that again, then they tried white female but she was an obvious see you next Tuesday, so they tried pushing AOC cause she's a bit more personable and attractive while being brown but she's not that popular either so now they're going with brown "Muslim" man, that's all.
