Great idea! and we can even inject it under the skin

Rhaedas@fedia.io · 48 pts · 3d (9 replies)

Will there be enough room there for that and the bleach and UV lights?

betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 3d (7 replies)

Scoop out a little of the horse dewormer paste to make room, you can pack it back in later.

affenlehrer@feddit.org · 6 pts · 3d

From time to time I take a look at Trump's truth social account to get some insanity updates and for a few weeks now it's filled to the brim with ivermectin ads like "Fouci took the fifth, better get some of our ivermectin pills".

Transparency declaration
[TJ Borody] is a principal in Topelia Therapeutics (Ventura, California), which seeks to commercialize cost-effective treatments for COVID-19, including IVM.

Doctor who advocated Covid-19 therapy including ivermectin applied for patent on same unproven treatment. Nice to see that he'll disclose it when absolutely required but omitting it elsewhere is kinda scummy.

The impact of ivermectin on COVID-19 outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis. (7 Jan 2025)

While ivermectin showed significant benefits in symptom alleviation and sustained symptom relief, it did not significantly affect other key clinical outcomes such as mortality, mechanical ventilation requirement, or hospitalization rates.

obviouspornalt@fedinsfw.app · 5 pts · 2d (3 replies)

I'm quite surprised that it had any impact on symptoms at all. I wonder how legit the meta review is?

betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d (2 replies)

I'm curious about that part as well. It's possible that they reported feeling better in studies where alleviation or relief were included while the other mentioned outcomes stayed the same as the control arm. Ivermectin has a strong bitter taste which may have tipped off the experiment group and influenced those subjective measurements but deaths, ventilator requirements, and hospitalization rates are objective results. Don't know if that's why but it makes sense to me.

mydude@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2d

Congrats. You have leveled up. You are no longer repeating tired old propaganda line like "horse dewormer paste". You are now level 2 aware, and have awakened skill "Doubt". This skill usually invokes you reading skill that you gained at level 1.

PattyMcB@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d

No, you idiot. The UV lights go in your ass. DUHH!

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 103 pts · 3d (9 replies)

In this day and age, I'm genuinely unsure if this screen cap is a person making a joke, or an anti-vaxxer being oblivious and stupid.

It really could be either one.

wander1236@sh.itjust.works · 69 pts · 3d (5 replies)

Jack is a notorious right-wing weirdo, so it's definitely not a joke at antivaxxers' expense, if it's a joke at all

Asafum@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 3d (3 replies)

Yeah, but so many of those pieces of shit are just grifting assholes. I could totally see him knowing what he's saying and laughing about it to himself as he continues to get rich off of dumb fucks

PattyMcB@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d (2 replies)

I'm still trying to figure out what the angle is

  1. Convince people to die stupidly
  2. ???
  3. Profit?
Asafum@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2d

I think it's more that these people see this as another way to reach their intended "audience" so it's not so much that he wants them to be affected in any way by the content of what hes saying, but more "pay attention to me! I'm saying the things you want to hear! (Give me money!)"

QueenHawlSera@piefed.social · 3 pts · 2d

Intentionally make someone's life worse, tell them only you can make it better, their life contionusly gets worse, instead of learning not trust you they become dependent on you.

I came here with exactly the same thought.

That’s Jack “Pizzagate” Posobiec.

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2d (1 reply)

The comic? Wait, I thought the artist was a woman, who people got angry at for having an onlyfans?

starik@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 2d

Not to be confused with Pizzacake, Pizzagate was a proto-Qanon conspiracy theory that positited there was a pedophile ring being run out of the non-existent basement of Washinginton D.C. pizzeria Comey Ping Pong.

Got an MMR booster recently. Doctor told me it was a live vaccine and that I’d feel a bit off while my body fought it.
First thing I did when someone asked how the doctors visit went was to respond with “Well, I have measles…”

They’re used to my bullshit, so they didn’t believe me!

What if instead of surgery we can put people in temporary comas and very Delicately Cut open parts of their bodies to get rid of things such as Tumors or replace organs Etc.

inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world · 44 pts · 2d (2 replies)

So here's something that boggles my mind a bit here. So these idiots have been talking about how the COVID vaccine was dangerous, unproven, and untested and that COVID was a bio-weapon from China, established fact with these people.

Right now quite a few of my more MAGA in-laws are straight up shooting untested, unproven, unverified peptides from China and going on about how it's the best thing ever.

It's American stupidity at its finest here.

justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 2d

they did that before as well. it's just about being edgy and against whatever is recommended by somebody who actually knows their shit.

kestrel7_7@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d

It’s so frustrating. If covid was a chinese bio-weapon wouldn’t you want the vaccine?

Would you rather have the untested vaccine, or the untested virus?

MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works · 43 pts · 3d (6 replies)

Small exposure?! What a whimp. Bro I'm virus maxxing. I get blood infusions from my sick homies and than let them throw up in my mouth.

I'm so sick now bro, you can't handle this. Im going to be immune to everything, viruses can't infect dead organs.

ayyy@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 3d (3 replies)

There were literally people doing this during the pandemic. A loooot of them actually died.

FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2d (2 replies)

Not enough of them though

QueenHawlSera@piefed.social · 3 pts · 2d (1 reply)

I was hoping that enough MAGA would die off in the pandemic to prevent Trump from being re-elected

Sadly not

As a pharmacy worker who is under a lot of pressure to push vaccines hard (and happy to oblige), I'm always so tempted to hand out a printout of this study showing that republicans died more from covid than democratics after the covid vaccines started coming out.

I'm sure y'all must feel a lot of self-satisfaction behind that smug smile every time you get the chance to reject the offers, but seriously.. you're just hurting yourselves. It's like dealing with children.

JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca · 21 pts · 2d

It says ABSTRACT right there on the page! I ain't dumb, that means its not real.

auntieclokwise@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2d (3 replies)

I just view that as natural selection doing its thing. If they want to kill themselves by following what con men say, well, that's no problem for me. But their bad choices hurt their kids and others.

AnimalsDream@slrpnk.net · 5 pts · 2d

It's your last point that gets to me.

DisasterTransport@startrek.website · 4 pts · 2d

If it were natural selection then killing their kids would be a feature, not a bug. But there's no biological determinism that makes them hold the beliefs they do. They were taught to be this way, indoctrinated in many cases.

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 1d

That's very old idea.

What if we take a sample of your blood along with sample of virus from your body and use AI to calculate how to genetically modify your leukocytes so they start fighting diseases you have ? Then we will bio print this messenger rna and inject to your body in hope this will cure you.

affiliate@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2d

I think we should be able to build the antibodies without seeing the virus at all

anon_8675309@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3d (1 reply)

Or! How about we all just act like adults and do what’s best for each other?

My daughter had a dermatological reaction to a vaccine. But no way in hell do I want her to have measles or any other preventable disease.

Apytele@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2d

I have patients all the time who go on and on about how this or that plastic or adhesive or plastic we have in supply smells bad or irritates their skin. I had raised itchy bumps in the exact shape of the EKG electrode pads for over a week after my ED visit for a panic attack with severe chest pain and shortness of breath and the main thing I regret about that visit is the bill.

If I'm putting EKG leads or a tegaderm on you you've got way bigger problems than a rash my dude. And if your problem actually is unserious or alternately terminal enough that it's more comfortable for you to just suffer in the comfort of your own bed, then just do that. If your problem is benign enough that you can even be worried about a rash more than you are worried about dying painfully from whatever you're there for, you're probably lucky enough to have a problem you can handle in the comfort of your own home.

And I'm even talking about serious chronic and terminal disorders. Everybody dies. If you are able to make the decision that you value spending the time given to you on earth in comfort rather than fighting through medical treatments to maybe get more of it then I encourage you to actively choose comfort for yourself. Don't spend what time you're given on this earth waffling back and forth between trying to get invasive treatment vs trying to be comfortable and bitching at other people the whole way down trying to make them as miserable as you just because they literally cannot by the physical rules of the universe provide both to you at the same time.

And ffs get a palliative consult. It's not hospice and you don't need to be actively on the way out to get it. You can do it at any time. And they'll make you way more comfortable than you'll ever get from complaining to a random floor nurse about Band-Aids.

Or the Traditional Republican Universal Microbe Prevention or T.R.U.M.P. shot for short.

I think their problem might really be about the delivery method. Have a vaccine that can be delivered as a cough, they seem to be ok with coughing in public spaces without covering their mouth.

VinegarChunks@lemmus.org · 9 pts · 1d (1 reply)

Their problem is not the delivery method. Their problem is reflexive oppositional defiance.

Nah, let the antivaxxers die off.

dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 3d (1 reply)

That's not the issue. If it were confined to just the adult ones, anyway, it'd be little harm and no foul. The problem is these twerps also don't vaccinate their kids, who have no say in the decision making process, and die of easily preventable diseases. The antivax crowd themselves also become disease carrying vectors putting those who can't be vaccinated at risk, i.e. immunocompromised people.

If said morons contained themselves in their own cabins in the woods without coming into contact with the public it likewise would not be a problem, but inevitably you find them coughing all over everybody else at Walmart instead.

bus_factor@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 3d

Even if it was just the adults, them not doing it eliminates herd immunity and puts others at risk.

VitoRobles@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 3d

I don't care if a antivaxxer dies. I care when they spread before they die.

Certain ages can't take vaccines yet. And they are the real casualties
