Only four of the seventeen warthunder leaks have been about American equipment (and one manual for the export model of the F-15E (that IIRC was specifically the Saudi version? It was a whole thing at one point)).
It seems likely that this meme is a reference to how fucking notoriouslyUS diplomatic staff in china absolutely cannot keep it in their pants (note that it's specifically about staff in china,we're the ones crossing the borders here). I dunno, this doesn't seem like "blaming foreigners" when it's such a problem there has to be a public policy to combat dipshit american diplomats falling for it.

How can this not be sarcastic? Has Andrew Tate actually warned about Asians?
If people take everything at face value it's no wonder that Trump succeeds with making America great again. He says so, it must be true, let's vote for him.
I'd argue it's rather healthy for americans to not just assume that someone spouting rhetoric is being sarcastic. That attitude of extending the benefit of the doubt to people undeserving of it got us into this mess in the first place.
(Tho in this case, it's not that people don't realize they're being sarcastic - it's that what they're saying with that sarcasm is really, really off the mark, and they're being incredibly shitty in how they said it)
Yeah that's exactly the problem - it's a meme criticizing ourselves for being too stupid not to simp out classified info to a pretty girl. The girl isn't the one being called out here, it's a joke about how frequently US contractors are caught doing this because of how dumb and uncontrollably horny they are.
Being called racist or sexist in response to a meme making a much more nuanced and cutting critique (especially one expressed in such a truly disgusting way) doesn't wound the ego or anything, it's just fuckin' annoying.
that actually happened to one of my acquaintances a couple of years ago. hooked up with some girl at drone convention and she got arrested shortly afterwards for spying. he saw none of it - just got informed later on that he was about to get the honeypot treatment due to his work. dude was so scared he went ballistic on his digital footprint and won't even talk to you if there's any mic'ed device in his vicinity. if i ever saw a man "scared shitless" that was it

Describe the technical specifics of your job in a way that misleads them as to the actual information you're working with, but that won't be immediately obvious to an expert that's potentially even more familiar with the source material you're working with than you are.
It's just hard to keep that kind of lie going - it's not impossible, but fooling someone with an entire intelligence agency requires a whole lot of both luck and planning.
The honeypot idea probably does rely at least in part on you not knowing that's what it is so, if you for some reason thought that was happening then... Nothing is stopping you. I guess you could operate on the assumption at all times but that's going to be difficult especially when they're trying to extract the information from you in a way that doesn't seem like they're trying to do that so you'd have to maintain your facade and chicken feed story in response to even the most banal things that don't seem like they're probing. There's also the fact that you would now be aware of the forces you're dealing with and also the potential blowback to you if you're wrongly suspected of colluding or being less smart than you in fact are.
I know someone who has a security clearance of some type, I got interviewed about them a few years back. In a rounabout way they said that people who cant talk about work tend to date other people who cant talk about work. Not necessarily in the same field but people who are used to compartmentalising like doctors, lawyers, etc. People who professionally understand "I cant talk about it".
I don't talk much about work with my wife. Mostly I can, but why would I want to take my work life home. I spend hours talking about work stuff at work. Let's talk about other stuff at home.
Perhaps it's different when your job defines you as a person or your job is your life.
It helps to live in a place where most people do work like this. It's more culturally acceptable to simply not ask in the first place.
I'd go as far as to say that it's so ingrained in some folks, that it's a dead giveaway what they're up to based on whether or not they ask you what you do for a living.
I was in the Air Force with a secret clearance, working on radar systems. There's some stuff i can't talk about for legal reasons, then there's stuff i don't talk about because it would make me look dumb. Like that time i worked on the circuit breaker panel without cutting input power. Or that time we forgot to open the vents before powering up the thing.
the original honey pot. basically, an attractive person from a geopolitical foe country feigns interest in you (sometimes involves sex) and gets you to divulge secrets that they then pass on to their handlers.
And i guess if you go in knowingly and thinking "I can enjoy it and keep my tongue in check" you end being blackmailed and/or info extracted because she's trained for it?
I'm locking this. I removed an entire thread of comments because I understand how both sides could think they're right and it's getting reported. No one is banned.
I don't think so, i mean, i get why it looks racist. but China is a geopolitical foe of the US, and they do use honeypots like this for gathering intel, and Chinese people do generally look Asian, for the most part.
Really? You really don't see the race angle of assuming Asian women are government honeypots? You understand that there's a reason it's not a white woman in the photo right?
You mean idolize a particular body shape that is not one I've seen on any woman under about 280 lbs? No I think I'll continue thinking this meme is pretty creepy and in really weird taste?
You see anything about that photo that's normal? I don't. I've seen enough photos of giant boobs to both know the profile and also that I don't like it.
Apparently I have to like it though or a whole wagon of Lemmy weirdos will come to comment and downvote which is pretty neat.
You can like what you want, but I'm more about a realistic and proportional standard myself. There's nothing gay about it, but I can't understand it, personally. I just can't imagine how the premise of the meme isn't "haha no thanks" instead of "sure a little light treason sounds good in exchange for those danglers!"

I'd go as far as to say that it's so ingrained in some folks, that it's a dead giveaway what they're up to based on whether or not they ask you what you do for a living.

I've had jobs where I'm not able to talk about specifics but they're still plenty of good stories you can tell.

And i guess if you go in knowingly and thinking "I can enjoy it and keep my tongue in check" you end being blackmailed and/or info extracted because she's trained for it?

thespcicifcocean@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 264d
I don't think so, i mean, i get why it looks racist. but China is a geopolitical foe of the US, and they do use honeypots like this for gathering intel, and Chinese people do generally look Asian, for the most part.

Really? You really don't see the race angle of assuming Asian women are government honeypots? You understand that there's a reason it's not a white woman in the photo right?

dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works · -21 pts · 263d
You mean idolize a particular body shape that is not one I've seen on any woman under about 280 lbs? No I think I'll continue thinking this meme is pretty creepy and in really weird taste?
Kellenved@sh.itjust.works · 13 pts · 263d
What’s real fucking weird is you assuming her nipple size when she has a shirt on
dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works · -12 pts · 263d
You see anything about that photo that's normal? I don't. I've seen enough photos of giant boobs to both know the profile and also that I don't like it.
Apparently I have to like it though or a whole wagon of Lemmy weirdos will come to comment and downvote which is pretty neat.
SpookyBogMonster@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 263d
Buddy, it's a picture of a woman in a sweater...
No one is saying you have to prefer women with big tits, but like... Sometimes women have big tits, and you can just be normal about that fact.
dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works · -9 pts · 263d
Yeah I don't think so when the premise is that "it's the last thing you see before you do a treason".
I'm sure the point of the picture is just that "it's a nice sweater, buddy", and nothing to do with anything else.
Kellenved@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 263d

Fellas, is it gay to like titties?
Atropos@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 263d

dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works · -8 pts · 263d
You can like what you want, but I'm more about a realistic and proportional standard myself. There's nothing gay about it, but I can't understand it, personally. I just can't imagine how the premise of the meme isn't "haha no thanks" instead of "sure a little light treason sounds good in exchange for those danglers!"
