Death to all brown people... Oh you mean in war? No body knows.

Flower@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 106d

The goal of the war? Establishing Greater Israel. Netanyahu is really keen on the neighbor's land. Trump is just there as the muscle, barely know what's going on and just acts tough to protect his reputation with his flunkies.

zd9@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 106d

Permanent distraction from the fact that Trump trafficked and raped dozens of young girls with Jeffrey Epstein. That's the entire goal.

Israel forced Trump into this war because they have that proof of him raping children hanging over his head. Israel is just your standard genocidal imperialistic religious fanatical fascist regime that views any Muslims as "animals" or "subhumans" (their own words).

Disruption of their nuclear weapons program

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 106d (29 replies)

If that was the case we would have kept the Obama deal

osanna@lemmy.vg · 5 pts · 106d

Yeah but that was a brown person’s deal and we can’t have that.

wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 106d (2 replies)

Maybe the reason he canceled that deal was so that he had an excuse to manufacture pretense later.

I don't think he has that much foresight, but maybe the people pulling his strings do...

anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 106d (1 reply)

Netanyahu might.

wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 106d

That's what I said.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -3 pts · 106d (24 replies)

Multiple problems with that deal as well, sadly enough

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 106d (23 replies)

Ya because that's how deals work... The fact that one took years and thousands of experts from all over the world to broker is testimony to how dumb this notion that Iran doesn't have the right get something back in negotiations is laughable. Also inserting that they don't have the right to self determination via self defense is also insulting to everyone involved.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -2 pts · 106d (22 replies)

It's insulting not to want a bunch of murdering religious nutjobs to have nukes?

Maybe they should free their people before I'll entertain the thought that they have 'the right' to such horrible weapons

zd9@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 106d

So, who should have nukes? Just America and their allies? Every country has seen that as soon as they lose nuclear capability they crumble from imperialism, so why would they give up their weapons?

Ideally Iran or NK or Russia (or America) wouldn't have nuclear weapons, but that's not reality.

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 106d

Also wanted to add the Obama deal prevented them from getting nukes. You know how I know that? I read the fucking reports from the international inspectors. Iran passed every search and were complying with the deal. Trump threw it out and started bombing again. Not Iran. Where are you getting your news?! Seriously. You are either willfully ignorant or a troll.

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 106d

We're the religious nut jobs dude. (and Isreal) Free their people? Who has more imprisoned citizens? Iran or America? Do you have any idea how Iran's nut jobs can to power? We are making the same fucking mistakes we did 100 years ago. Also, only one nation has used nukes in violence. Acting as if we have the moral high ground here is alarming.

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 60d

Circling back after Trump just sent billions to Iran with no nuclear guarantees. Iran has control over the straight. Israel's polling all time lows in the US. Iran is literally stronger today, than when you were typing that nonsense. I bet that Obama deal looks pretty good right about now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Count042@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 105d

Are you taking about Israel?

Because the Ayatollah had a fatwa against nukes, which is the sole reason it didn't have one.

Almacca@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 106d (2 replies)

I'm more concerned about the USA's nuclear weapons at this point. Why can they have them, but Iran can't?

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 106d

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -1 pts · 106d

As few as possible imo

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 106d (6 replies)

Trump has single-handedly encouraged them to develop this program by destroying the Iran nuclear deal in his first term.

This is ALL his fucking fault.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -3 pts · 106d (5 replies)

That's like saying Obama encouraged them by bringing it up as well

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 106d (4 replies)

What? The Obama deal ensured they could enrich past nuclear power plant levels which is about 85% bellow bomb making. And getting to 95% or greater enrichment is extremely difficult.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -2 pts · 105d (3 replies)

Yeah, they showed you how difficult it really is back in '24

You're betting the farm on it they won't ever be able to technically do what a bunch of pioneers did 80 years ago?

NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 105d

Lol back in '24 you mean when Trump canceled the deal? I don't think that's the argument you think it is. And once again. All our actions have proven is they need a nuke for self determination.

Count042@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 105d (3 replies)

If that were the case, they wouldn't have killed the Ayatollah, the one man preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon with his religious Fatwa against nuclear weapons.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · -2 pts · 105d (2 replies)

Yeah sure the Ayatollah was taking a sabbatical when they were mass producing that enriched uramium

Count042@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 105d (1 reply)

No.

Iran is a civilization with political factions and a robust political system.

The faction that thought nukes would be stabilizing for the region (and time is showing that they were correct) wanted to be able to have nukes very quickly should the Ayatollah change his mind.

Your understanding of Iran is basically just spoon fed propaganda with no critical thought. Go comment on things you actually know anything about.

couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip · 0 pts · 104d

The Iranian government basically murdered or tortured into submission any other political factions. The only 'factions' you see are subsets of the shia extremist faction. Sure, nukes would 'stabilize' their rule but its funnysad that you would try to present that as something preferable for those oppressed by it

For Americans, for the rest of us, we can confidently say, you failed to win a war you started for no reason at all, your country has become an utter failure, no one can trust a single thing coming out of your country, from the food, to the media, to the words of the president, absolutely nothing is trusted with the american seal of approval, your tech industry is just an extension of the goverment now, so can't trust that either.

I'll give you one thing tho, you are unifying the world in mockery of your sad pathetic actions.

paladin235@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 106d (7 replies)

As an American, I totally agree. I am at a loss as to how we got to where we are so quickly, how it can be fixed, or what I should do as an individual. Feels like a slow motion train wreck that was easily predicted and warned about, yet nobody changed anything to avoid it.

The most frustrating thing is that writing my representatives in government, voting, and protesting all seem completely ineffectual.

GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 106d

As a fellow American? We should take more cues from the French.

mittoken@feddit.dk · 7 pts · 106d (1 reply)

It cannot be fixed. If you eventually come back and try to repair things, you’ll find we (Europe) have replaced your products (from tech and culture to friendship and security) with much better local alternatives.

paladin235@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 106d

Good, we deserve it. Whether we take responsibility and attribute the consequences to our actions or not is a big unknown. Hopefully we can fix ourselves internally at some point so we can at least try reconcile with the world.

BucketBong@p.hobo.social · 4 pts · 106d

Like, dont get me wrong, we want to like you guys again, you just need to get the exterminator in and exterminate the rat infestation you have going on.

Unfortunately beyond another assassination attempt, which isn't the best option, its gonna take your politicians growing a fucking pair and removing him themselves, they have the system to do it and he sure as fuck meets the requirements.

You all also need to get the fuck out and vote them out next election, dont listen to the bots saying "stay home" go out and vote the Nazis out.

Here's how I see it, if you dont vote, you dont get to bitch about the government.

j_overgrens@feddit.nl · 2 pts · 106d

I'm gonna shoot straight with you: USians haven't been protesting nearly enough. Like not even remotely close. You all need to be out there, striking, organising.

Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 106d (1 reply)

Please don’t fix it, the world will be better off without you being able to act in charge. You have objectively been a force for evil my entire life and long before.

Let your global reputation and power forever be damaged.

paladin235@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 105d

To be clear, I don’t mean “fix it” as in restoring our reputation or power. We need to fix ourselves internally. If you think we have been a force for evil in the past, imagine how much worse it could be if we continue in the direction we are sprinting now. That is why we need to fix ourselves.

"If I conquer Canada and squash their resistance without issue, then I will guarantee every unemployed person in the country a $200k/yr job."

All true statements according to vacuous truth.

It was treason to launch an insurrection against the United States on January 1st, 2021.

It was treason to send the US to war in Iran, unauthorized by Congress, spending US taxpayer dollars, depleting US munitions stockpiles, throwing away US lives, alienating US allies, ruining US strategic defense posture, devastating US soft power, and tanking the US economy.

These are only some of the examples of treason Donny has committed. The full list would be much longer.

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. Trump keeps pointing to “their navy is gone their air force is gone” as proof the US is winning.

Years ago Iran evaluated what kind of a war they might face, and determined that their best shot was through massive amounts of ballistic missiles, drones, and small watercraft. This meant significantly de-prioritizing a traditional air force and navy. So yeah, they don’t have really any capital ships or fighter jets, but they never had much of those in the first place and haven’t been prioritizing that part of their military. But their missile and drone stocks - to say nothing of actual soldiers in their army btw - are all still doing pretty great actually. Destroyers and interceptor jets aren’t going to win the war for Iran and that was never their plan anyway.

The US is absolutely NOT winning this war, and they will not be able win this war.

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 106d (1 reply)

Trump keeps pointing to “their navy is gone their air force is gone” as proof the US is winning.

There navy is gone, except for the armada of speed boats running mid-range recon and planting sea mines and launching drones.

Their air force is gone except for all the planes we haven't shot down yet and their UAWs and etc etc.

Their leadership is all assassinated, except for the people currently in command.

We're winning! We're winning! We're just a little behind as time is running out.

The US is absolutely NOT winning this war

We've spent a quarter trillion dollars to destroy over a trillion dollars in Iranian infrastructure and massacre an innumerable count of their civilian population. If this is a war of genocide, we're winning. At least in so far as they're dying in far higher volumes than us.

Napster153@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 105d

History is filled with soon-to-be dominant kingdoms and countries that endured ridiculous losses in population and still somehow rebounded.

Rome, Persia, China, just to name a few.

So long as the unified spiritulity and determination is there along with the right conditions, death and destruction won't find an easy victim.

How far is your capital from your home?

I'll just gather up my posse of 5 close friends to make the 14 hour drive to Washington while maintaining opsec from the largest surveillance network in the world. Maybe driving isn't a good idea, we'll just take the train, that will only take 28 hours.

Can you even drive in a straight line for 14 hours and not leave your country?

Logistics matter. Distances matter. Having the money to eat while you've abandoned your job matters.

The truth, since he wants people to know it, is they assassinated the leaders & military infrastructure hoping Iran would collapse. And when it didn't there was no plan. Generals and regional experts presumably advised on the sheer stupidity of the attack but none had the balls to resign. So now there is an oil crisis, and when the war is over Iran will emerge from this even more entrenched and dominant than ever.

thecaptaintrout@lemmy.zip · 15 pts · 106d (4 replies)

IIRC, I think there were multiple military leaders who resigned in protest during the buildup, and certainly over his current regime. That said, too many sycophants that still followed illegal/immoral orders.

Why are Americans so weak and ineffective? why are they ok being led by a demented, racist, old pervert?

Zink@programming.dev · 20 pts · 106d (2 replies)

I think there is a real, deep seated conditioned response in a lot of Americans to just assume things will work out and it will be OK in the long run. Basically a form of privilege to not worry about the problems of the world because somebody else will definitely fix it.

I'm a white male american born into conservative culture who grew up in the 80s and 90s , and I definitely had that feeling instilled in my head along the way. For gen x and boomers who spent more of their early years in more of the post-ww2 US dominance, it's probably worse.

vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 106d

Also probably help that actually removing him is extremely hard at best. The political method is basically dead on arrival since the courts are captured, the Republicans are in favor of him, and the Democrats don't have enough will to actually do anything outside of maybe a hundred people across Congress. Seriously there should be Congress criters killing each other with canes at this point but no that's uncivil, hell at minimum Dems should be spitting in the face of pissbags like Johnson and McConnell.

As for the violent methods, basically all of them are scatter shot at best. You could summon up a militia and march right up to the Whitehouse to lynch him and the end result would probably be somewhere between the Bonus Army and the Tiananmen Square massacre.

YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 106d

I have an lbgt family member that voted for him. There really is societal conditioning at play.

SabinStargem@lemmy.today · 8 pts · 106d (1 reply)

I think America is too big and too stratified, it is no longer possible for young and interested people to guide the nation. Only aging people with great wealth can ever have a shot at control, and their beliefs are extremely dated by default. Also, our founding document is about 250 years of age, and wasn't built for a coast-to-coast nation of high technology. There weren't many democracies nor republics to model our society after, so we didn't have much foreknowledge of the pitfalls that could happen.

Sheer inertia of belief, wealth, and flawed design, underpin America's problems. Franklin Roosevelt delayed the destruction of the America we knew, and our modern political critters have squandered the opportunity to save the ship.

This America, is almost certain to die. The great question, is what things will replace it?

Rekorse@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 106d
